I feel you Dr.Gran, I'm going to try the 288, just to see what the fuss is all about, but I don't think it will be a keeper. Personally I don't understand the fascination with Panerai. Maybe I'll see the "light", but I doubt it.

Modded "used". No question about it. If you are really into this whole reps game you'll get you OOB TD piece modded anyway. On the other hand modding is fun. If I were you - get the first watch modded, (just to enjoy wearing it), get OOB's later to enjoy the modding game.

One thing for sure, though: all his watches are cr@p. the diamond datejust is hideous - you ether wear diamonds or a watch. the panerai reminds me of this watch the Tag is one of the most unimaginative watches out there, and I can't be blamed for not liking Tags in general. the bvlgary is ... well, I just puked a little... (or was it that dude's voice at "I'M Archie LUXURY...", I'm not sure) The GMT is the only respectable watch there.

+1 to Josh and Andrew. Sure you can find a TD that sells a watch for less, but the experience is not at the same standard This thread sums it up for me and this is why I buy from my Trusted trusted dealers. (there should be a list like that, lol)
