  1. I've noticed that the date on my watch changes early. It started with 5 min before midnight and now the date changes around 12 min before midnight, all in a matter of couple of months. It also looses around 5 sec per day, but this is consistent. Should I be worried? Can something be done to make the watch change the date around midnight?
  2. Personally I'd kill to have some snow right now. The heat is killing me...
  3. Oh WOW! Phenomenal. You got some serious skills and talent, man. Norway is beautiful this time of year, isn't it?
  4. Bravo. Great picture I like how the sun rays are projected (and Harley the Beagle, of course )
  5. First of all, the only person you should talk to is Texsky. I've been talking to him about the same project and he is more than helpful. I back up from the project because of an u related issue. But Texsky is definitely someone who can make this project come true within a reasonable timeframe. You need to remember though that the biggest problem with this project isn't the dial, the hands or the crown, but the seconds@ 6 modification which is inconsistent and unreliable. This where your money should go to and this is the biggest issue with the whole project. You can flash 1500$ and more on a watch that will stop working after a few months.
  6. 100% rwg. Don't know any other. Don't care either.
  7. Unfortunately I must admit my ignorance - I have never read any of Nygårdshaug's books. i've read Sophie's World and some of the Hamsun's works, but other than that, I'm unfamiliar with the Norwegian literature. Mengele Zoo is intriguing, though. I do listen to alot of Norwegian music, folk, jazz (Garbarek being one of my all time favorites), as well as electronica (Royksopp, 120 days etc) and some early death metal bands
  8. Absolutely. I gotta tell you, man, the more I learn about the rep world, the more cool, knowledgeable, design aware, engineering and technology loving people I meet. It was such a pleasure talking to that woman, but also with the folks here, online. I must admit , that I have learned more about watches and to love the design and technology behind them since I discovered the rep scene, than at any other point in my life. I also noticed that the older folks and true watch lovers can't be arsed about you or them wearing a rep or a gen, as long as you know what you're doing. It's always the younger people I meet (no offense intended, just a personal subjective and absolutely too generalist observation), who are snooty about brands. I think that maybe as you grow older, you get to a point in your life, where you stop giving a damn about that stuff and simply pursue your passions. And maybe it's not about the age at all, maybe it's about a state of mind. Don't know. Anyway, I gotta tell you, I'm extremely delighted by this new hobby of mine, but above all by the people I have met since.
  9. First of all the strap on the second one is ridiculously gorgeous. I need to get me one of those for my 288 Second, I have a horrific BP rep with an excellent movement which I'd like to make a dial for, would you care sharing how did you make that dial?
  10. Btw, I got a cool story from my last visit to the AD store. So I went to compare DSSD and PO today, and I met the Omega AD store owner, a cool older lady, who was wearing an Orange 45.5 PO herself, imagine that. As I was checking the PO on my wrist, she spotted my MarkXVI, and complimented me, but said that she thinks that the dial isn't that correct. I said, yes, they haven't been able to replicate it correctly yet and I was looking for a gen dial to replace it, so we went into conversation about gens and reps, movements, the pricing of watches etc and she cracked me up with a story about George Daniels hitting on her at Bazel fair, years back, despite him being over 70 and her being a lesbian LOL. Obviously asked her about her watch and she said that she liked masculine watches and her purchasing a rep Speedy years ago was what got her into business in the first place and also that she had about 50 watches in her collection, reps and gens, but mostly reps. Extremely knowledgeable lady and a very cool person. Swear to god I almost bought a gen PO from her today. LOL
  11. OK, it's definitely Omega. Just went to AD shops (luckily I found two almost door to door). I look like a dwarf with DSSD on my wrist and the weight, oh my god, it's a beast. Also, and I know it's only a personal preference, but I like the Omga's design more.
  12. Are you sure it's not a Miyota? Care sharing a link to it?
  13. yep... I'd ask for the pictures of the one with the bracelet you ordered, just to be sure it's the same watch and the bracelet is ok, other than that, I'd say it's a go. Edit: wait, what?! 215 incl shipping with bracelet and eta clone. That's pretty unbelievable. Are you sure?
  14. uuuh, that's a keeper. The pearl and the crown are fantastic. Ask him to shoot one frontal image to see that the stickers are aligned properly (they had some faulty ones in the past) and pay special attention to the sticker @6. Which movement powers this beauty?
  15. You have one of those too? Damn, the wallets these days... They make them too jumpy, if you ask me
  16. Excellent answer. You're right, it's always about the wearer. I'll check the DSSD's size once more at the AD today, just to be sure that it isn't too large for my wrist. @WetWork - I think you've made the right choice with 42. Sure the "face" is a bit smaller, but I wouldn't be too worried about the size of it. The 42 is definitely a better rep. With the one you have you can simply wear it without any modifications, and in the future if problems arise with the tube you can always buy a new crown. But for now it seems like you have an excellent specimen.
  17. Galimanas, can you also update on how the communication went with Trevor. I'm reluctant to change dealers, but I'm interested in your experience with him.
  18. Pam214 Split Second Chrono. The left side button tells it's a split second and it can not be PAM246 because the hour makers are close to the edge
  19. Damn it. Just when I was thinking to pull the trigger on PO, here comes Mr. Vandal and ruins it all once again LOL. I like DSSD because it doesn't have that ridiculous cyclops and the ceramic bezel insert and, of course, the great lume. My main concern with DSSD is that you just can not hide the fact it is Rolex. Most people know what Rolex is, so in my mind questions will be inevitable. This may lead to me not wearing the watch at all. PO on the other hand is spot on but those tube issues are a concern, because I really just want to wear the watch at this point, without needing repairs out of the box. I may even disregard the pearl position, because as far as I can see from the recent QC photos they do make it almost spot on these days, but I can not take a chance on functionality. Lume isn't that great either, but for 100 bucks less... On my god, my head is going to explode. Even my business decisions are easier to make, damn it...
  20. Good luck to both of the teams, seems like a juicy brother vs brother clash. The only thing I personally care about is the Reds giving the Spurs a decent spanking this fine afternoon. YNWA Woo Hoo! 400th just around the corner
  21. PO42 or DSSD - can't decide between those two... Pam288 IWC Ingy Nautilus (maybe. like the watch, but the brand is too high profile. Can't buy a gen, obviously, so I don't think I can pull the rep either)
  22. I agree with Phoband and Cougar. I think reps are a better value in this case. I like the Aviation series, though. Especially the Aviation chrono. They are the only pieces that do not look homagy. Can't commenton the quality, but I've read about some good and bad experiences
