  1. Great review, thanks. The last picture - pure class. Good job, man. Personally I like the black version better as well. Don't want to offend anybody here, but I think that the blue one is a bit tacky, because it's a Bond's watch.
  2. Trying to decide between PO 42 and the DSSD. I like both of the designs. On one hand PO seems like an inferior rep, with its tube and perl issues, while DSSD is a much better made, with almost no visual or functional imperfections. On the other hand DSSD is a Rolex - brand that I don't really like due to its high profile. Wearing it will definitely attract attention and questions and I would simply hate that. I want to wear my watch freely, under the radar, so to speak. Plus DSSD wears a bit higher on the wrist. I, too, have a 7'' wrist, so the DSSD will be very noticable - no way of wearing it under the sleeve. Can't get them both because I'm buying PAM288k to fill the chrono spot in my collection. Damn it I wish I hadn't read vandal's review of DSSD.
  3. I think they do not make money at all. As a matter of fact I think they buy some gen watches and then resell them as reps for 10% of the price. Chinese people are generous that way.
  4. As a vintage watches geek I'd agree. It would be very difficult to know it's a rep (I think it supposed to have numerals at 12 and 6, I can't recall at the moment), but who cares. I salute you for such an exquisite taste in watches. This watch is absolutely stunning, and is a wonderful tribute to the early Rolex Chronographs. I'm not a Rolex fan by any means, but if I to become a filthy millionaire, the first watch I'd get would be Rolex 3484. Without doubt. Would you mind sharing more pictures of the watch, and perhaps the source of it?
  5. Yeah, somehow the orange ones have the pearl placed much much better. Really, I don't get it...
  6. :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: :notworthy: Tell us moar!
  7. Looks good, don't see any issues. IMHO, you can give it a green light.
  8. Indeed. The triple date function is very nice and the all-black dial is stunning, much better than the usual "pandas"
  9. Do any of you, guys, have any information on the upcoming/upgraded/updated reps coming after CNY this year from our TDs? C'mon, spill it, you know you want to...
  10. You're wellcome, I guess... In any case, the cartel (aka Josh, Trusty etc) are known for higher pricing, but I must admit that the service and delivery is impeccable, buying from amazon would be more difficult... If you find a cheaper watch and the dealer is on TD list and has a good record, by all means buy from him.
  11. galimanas, you're to listening, man. Help us to help you. Post the links to Trevor's listing and to Josh's listing, so we can tell you what's the differense, if there actually is a difference. If you think that "in another forum sale many of this omega 42mm 5gen asia eta and has great quality", by all means get it from Trevor. Reading the dealer's reviews also help. http://www.rwg.cc/forum/262-trevor-time/ http://www.rwg.cc/forum/112-reviews-jos-nanajoshua/
  12. galimanas, post a link to an actual sale, not another forum. Some of us are not members and in any case it's better to know who the dealer is.
  13. Omega PO 42 lug to lug size: 47.7 mm Omega PO 45.5 lug to lug size: 52mm
  14. there are different versions and generations of this rep. post the links here so we can see what are you talking about.
  15. Uh wow, Wet. I knew you can write, but this is absolutely fabulous review. Well done, mate, well done! The history, the proccess, the watch. Instant sticky.
  16. Great! Glad you find it useful, mate. Get that PO, you won't regret it.
  17. Check this out: http://www.chrono24.com/en/tissot/stainless-steel-vintage-early-chronograph--id1602394.htm?manufacturerIds=243&urlSubpath=/tissot/pre-owned-watches--used.htm Also a beautiful watch ,but imho, not even close to the beauty of the watch you've found (silver restored dial, thought) and check out the price: $3000. :bling:
  18. Well you know I have a soft spot for vintage watches. I, personally, like Tissot. Even some of their new lower end automatic chronos look and feel very good. But this watch is a true marvel, form the era of collaboration with Omega. Just look at it - it's perfect. This is how chronos should be made. And in almost perfect condition! A great advantage of this watch it being "waterproofed", which means that you can actually waterproof it, without damaging the authenticity of this amazing timepiece. I think that Tissot from that era (pre and post WWII) up until late 40's are very sought after collectibles and they retain their value over the years. In fact I think that because these were early "waterproof" models they will only go up in price. This is a great find, MIke, I think you will love this watch. Edit: Oh,and yes the price is good, imho. I'd value this watch $1500-$1800. Vintage Lemania from that time can cost upto $600-$800 in any condition. In fact their is a listing for NOS Tissot circa 1935 for $17,000 and if authentic he will sell it for at least 15000. Anyway, If you can get your watch cheaper than 1500, it's a robbery in broad daylight. Go get them
  19. Can help (not in US), but good luck with it, man! Vote, people!!!
