Nice combo!

You're probably right, Ronin. The only question is how to sum it up mathematically, especialy the colour.

All in a good spirit WetWotk. We're just joking around. Safe flight.

... So, I go to a meeting with my boss, wearing my orange PO rep that I bought from Josh a few weeks ago and then out of nowhere some guy, dirty 'lil f*, calls it out right in front of my boss. And I was like dude, whacha doing?!! And he goes: yeah nice 4000 USD watch you have there, mate! And I was like: dude stop it, and kicking him under the table. And he goes: yeah really expensive, you gotta make a fortune with that lil job of yours. Can you believe it? All that right before I was gonna ask for promotion and tell my boss how my family needed the money with the new baby and the mortgage and the sick cat and all ...

Pleasantly surprised? I was very unpleasantly surprised. And yes, boobiez rulz

It looks sooo used and old... Why would you wear such a used watch...

Save your time and money, get the crown and the stem from the dealer and service the watch. The money you'll spend on shipment back and forth and the time and the customs etc., plus there is no guarantee that you will receive a better watch. In any case you'll need to service it some day, so why not now, right? the only problem is that it will not be ready by 30th...

Holly cr@p. Now you're talking! Love it.

Scented with vanilla? Are you serious, man? That crown thing is a 10$ fix at your local watchsmith, if you don't want to wait for CNY holidays to be over.

Well, Steinhart's are also replicas, or homages, if you will, in a sense that Gunther uses other's design for most of his watches. If he would use his own design, in his price range, by all means I'd buy his watch if I liked it.

I'd spend only on watches with in-house movements for their horological value. For stock ETA (even moddified) dress-ups - forget about it. Don't care if watch was assembled in Swizerland or in "Shitinerand"

Yep. You've got some IE compatibility issues, especially with IE7 and in some cases there maybe an issue with IE custom security level settings concerning Active-X and social/outlook addons

Perimeter is the wrist size ie 7", 6 1/2" etc in mm Wrist width is the actual width of your wrist The watch width is indeed the 12-6 measurment Here is the excel watch_size_formula.xls

Big watch fad, is it over? New Pam 42mms!
Adeodatus replied to cougar1's topic in General Discussion
Can't agree with you more. 45+ watch does look good on Stalone's wrist, but for us, humans, 38-42 is the right size. -
Imho , dress watch = no chrono, no date and if you are really classy no seconds either. also no phone and no wallet, bag or anything of that sort. Cash holder with cash and credit card and a nice watch are all you need for an evening at the Opera.

Absolutely, I need to add +/- 0.01 for "likability"

Damn, I like the sound of it!

I think, subconsciously, you've chosen your watch already. (same link)

We almost always buy watches online and sometimes upon receiving the watch you realize it is too big for your wrist or too small. Knowing the diameter works well enough, but we all have different wrists of different shapes, so I've been thinking of a more (pseudo) scientific way to tell if the watch you are buying will fit your wrist. This is what I've been thinking about: j=a/b a = your wrist perimeter b = your wrist width j = your wrist constant k=(x+((y-x)/2))/2 x = watch diameter y = watch width including the lugs k = your watch constant Q=j/k 0.12<Q<0.15 - the watch is right for you Q<0.12 - the watch is too large for your wrist Q>0.15 - the watch is too small for your wrist I've tried this formula with a few watches I have and it seems to work. Can you please help me verify this (if you are interested of course). Man... I have too much free time on my hands

Such a great watch! I really like the strap as well, so elegant with the black dial. Can you elaborate a bit more abot the modifications you've done? Also: I'm planing to start my Mark XVI spitfire franken project. It would be great if you could point me to dealers or memebers who can provide gen parts for these watches.

No no no! A couple of buddies of mine wear their watches on their right hand because they are so used to wear diving instruments on their left from their military days, but this is the only deviation I'm, personally, willing to accept. Two watches? No way, unless you are Maradona.
