  1. If you could have any Gen watch with a list price under $1500, what would it be? Reason why I ask is that my fiancee said that she would get me a watch of my choice, but it had to be under $1500. I did ask if I can use those funds to purchase some nice reps and the answer was NO! (Only if she knew how much fun rep collecting is). I've been collecting Omega reps and just added the MBW 16610, which is very very nice. I was thinking about getting a Tag - don't ask me why, but Josh and Trusty have some incredible Links that are very very close to real thing. Any suggestions?
  2. Wishing you a speedy recovery Joe !
  3. I sent an e-mail to George asking him to clarify whether or not this is his site. He gave me the following URL: www.watches-photogallery.com My .02 cents to the mix.
  4. I went ahead and sent him an e-mail to confirm. I guess we will wait and see.
  5. To answer your question - NO. All the receipt says is RWG, which could stand for just about anything.
  6. My plan was slicy the handswhere it attaches to the ring and then apply a small amount of crazy glue. Sh*t, I'll try to find a watchmaker who can do something like this for me. Thanks for the heads up. If anyone knows a good watchmaker in the Windy City, please let me know. I would go to Joe, but he's under the weather.
  7. I purchased an Omega GMT (older verison) from Paul last year and had Joe do some mods to the watch (installing some gen parts - Dial, hands). The only issue that I had was that the gen GMT and second hand would not fit on this movement. However, I was able to get a rep second hand - correct in length from Sean. He also gave me a rep GMT hand, but it's for the newer GMT versions. So, my dilemma is the following - correct length of GMT hand, but smaller hole that would not fit on the movement. - incorrect length of GMT hand, but correct hole size to fit the movement. Possible solution - take the rep GMT hand and cut the hand that connects to ring (hole). Do the same with the gen GMT hand. Glue the two parts together and voila - correct lenght GMT hand with correct hole size to fit the movement. IS THIS CRAZY OR WILL IT WORK?
  8. He sent me an e-mail a day after he got back from vacation and seemed to be in good spirits. However, I read this thread about him falling ill once again. I went ahead and sent him an e-mail and left him a voicemail on Monday, but have yet to hear back from him.
  9. Narikaa - sorry to hear about this. I emailed him about a watch that I purchased from him - WTF, maybe I should I put a Paypal claim against him ?
  10. For a daily beater, you can't beat it. If you're asking if they are as close to the gen, then No. It does not have a true GMT functiionality (especially if you're looking at the asian). Then, take in account of all of the other issues - bezel pearl, HE valve, crown guards to name a few.
  11. Just noticed something - look at his feedback and previous sales. WTF ?!?!?
  12. At a lost on why someone from the US would try to sell a rep on te ebay and most of all, charge nearly double what the guys here charge. ebay - 007
  13. Great insight and very detail ! I purchased a pair of gen hands from Ofrei, but have yet to find time to install them. I was thinking about getting the gen clasp as well as the gen dial. However, I have yet to hear whether or not the dial will fit perfectly. Who wants to be first and take a stab at it?
  14. Nice catch. Hope they come out with a 7750 version - the watch looks incredible. I would even venture and get the orange version (already have the black PO). Can't wait !
  15. Just saw Andrew posting some pics of his new Omega Planet Ocean Chrono. Yes, I'm sure we can count the flaws, but my question is - do you think they'll come out with a "Swiss Version" in the near future ? Any thoughts?
  16. Um no, we are not idiots. Some are asking questions to your first statement: "The SD that I was wearing today is AMAZING!!!!! The weight, the accuracy of the engraving on the back. Etc etc. Today at work, I kept looking down at my wrist and said……” I cant believe it’s a REP” I even took it off and let a guy who owns a GEN hold it and check it out and he didn’t say anything but “WOW, nice watch”. Therefore, when you make a statement like that, expect some members to ask who did you get the watch from and for some pics to see it.
  17. I e-mailed Eddie, since I was interested in a TW Classic, what, if any, the differences between the TW Classic and the new one and he told me that they were very similiar. So, I couldn't comment on his new one.
  18. Sorry for the late question - but where do you throw in Trusty's "Perfect Sub" and Josh's "Perfect Sub" ?
  19. You can always change it, right?
  20. Sent Joe an e-mail inquiring about this. I had Joe do some mods for me on my Omega GMT (older version) but the gen GMT hand did not fit the rep movement (2836 movement). As a result, I have the shorter GMT hand.
  21. How do you go about getting a custom hand fabricated?
  22. HAPPY 4th of JULY What will you be wearing at the family b-b-q and fireworks show?
  23. I purchased the gen hands off of Ofrei. Thiinking about getting the gen dial as well. I would imagine and hope that the gen dial will fit perfectly. I have the gen dial on my Omega SMP and Omega GMT - no problems there.
  24. Joe- Awesome job on the Rollie. Defintely my next watch with some of your mods of course . Glad to see that you're making a full recovery. Stay healthy !
