What version PO do you have? I know that some of the earlier POs 42s and 45s actually had shorter hands compared to the gen.
-
Nouns - I read your thread about the gen bezel not fitting properly on the PO as well as this thread. However, the gen hands and dial will fit on the 4th Version PO. I bought the gen hands from Ofrei and had Marrick do some mods for me. He was able to install the gen hands (big difference) as well as move up the Omega Metallic symbol up a notch (so it wouldnt be on top of the word Omega). Additionally, prior to my mods, Marrick was able to install the OEM Dial and Hands on another member's watch. Marrick told me everything came out perfect. Here's some quick pics of my PO with the gen hands.

To add on to your observation Marrick, he writes: "Please note these are stock photos and not pictures i took my self sorry for this but my Digital Camera would not do this stunning watch justice." With these two statements from the seller, something smells fishy
-
You're absolutely right. Omega does not, nor do watchshops, sell inserts seperately. You would have to buy the entire bezel to do so. I had a gen Bezel and Insert for my GMT, but when Joe and Marrick did the mods - the Gen bezel would not fit the case. Therefore, Marrick had to mod the gen insert to fit perfectly in the rep bezel. I wish there was a way to mod pearls on Omega inserts - they're always the giveaways...wondering if you can just drill out some of the lume to make it look more like the gen ????
-
Well, I know for the 42 - Ofrei sells the Dial for $200 and the AR crystal for $150. I read that some members got lucky and got some AR coating done at Lens Crafters - but can't remember the fee. To get it Lumed, The Zigmeister offers the service (I think it's around $75). Hope that helps.

I know that the 2824 is just date whereas 2836 is day + date. What are the main differences between the two movements? Is one better than the other?
-
Many thanks Flava....but it's more or less the insert that needs replacing. Not to concerned with the bezel. However, Ofrei sells the bezel with the insert for $150 - too much in my book. Every once in a while I see a gen insert pop up on 'bay - but I always get outbidded at the end.
-
Many thanks ! Defintelty a keeper.....Joe did an awesome job - datefield lines up perfectly. No issues whatsover. Just need to get that dangy pearl modded to look more like the gen.
-
If they can get a rubber strap - 22mm - to fit this bad boy, then defintely a must have !!!!
-
Looks very nice. Maybe this will be the last version of the POs or maybe not. If so, atleast the watch looks a whole lot better than previous versions.
-
It will be an Omega wrist wearing weekend..... Currently sporting Andrew's PO v.4 (with OEM hands and the Omega symbol moved up just a bit) For Thanksgiving - going with the GMT and for Friday, since I will be seeing Casino Royale, why not sport the Bond Seamaster?
-
The ever popular Omega Seamaster 2531 James Bond watch. Defintely a must have in everyone's collection. As stated by By-Tor is his review By-tor's Guide To Best Omega Replicas, Replica Buyer's Guide- "This watch doesn't need much introduction as it's RWG's favourite child. Excellent feel, weight and quality. Very faithful to the real one. " Without a doubt, he's right. I was able to acquire the OEM dial and then purchased by OEM hands from Ofrei. Sent it to Joe to swap out the rep parts and install the gen parts. Like most Seamasters, that dangy pearl on the bezel. One of these days, I am (hopefully) will get that thing modded to look more like the gen. And the pics...... Close Up Pic Wrist Shot Side Shot Another Side Shot Lume Shot Another Lume Shot

As the title says, my Omega GMT has been updated. Let's recap: This is what I started with: Rep Parts: Omega GMT - 2836 movement (from Paul) Genuine Parts: Dial Hands (HR, Min, Second & GMT) Bezel Bezel Insert Joe performed the original mods back in March by installing the OEM Dial, Hour and Minutes hands. The gen GMT hand will not fit the 2936 movement - it was only made to fit the 2893-A2 movement. Additionally, the OEM bezel with the insert was not used as well. Fast forward to October. Marrick made it to the States and assisted me with making my GMT looking like the gen. He did a tremendous job with his Omega White GMT project - Marrick's GMT I sent Marrick my GMT along with the OEM Insert, Gen Second hand and a Rep GMT hand (from Silix) that's a tad bit shorter & smaller than the gen. However, looks a lot better than the usual GMT hand that came with this watch. He was able to sand down the gen bezel insert to fit the rep bezel. Closeup pic comparing the Gen and the Rep. As you can see the rep GMT hand is a tad bit shorter than the rep and a bit smaller (the arrow part of the hand is smaller in size than the gen). And some pics of Marrick's mods...... Nice close up shot of the watch Another close up shot of the watch Full Shot of the Watch Angle Shot Another Angle Shot Side Shot Back Shot Lume Shot (Sorry, not the best pic). You can see the difference between the OEM parts' and the rep GMT hand's lume

Many thanks UBi for all of your help and for answering my countless questions.

My pleasure . Many thansk for the Noob Lions&Tigers. Before, I was only planning on using the bracelet, date overlay and the insert from the Noob. But now, I'll be swapping the dials from the Noob with the MBW.
-
Chieftang- Thanks for the answer ! Looks like I'll swap the dials as well. Also, for my MBW datemag - do you think when swapping the dateoverlays, it would then look correct? Also, where can you find clyclops for $5 - ofrei?
-
Thought I post some pics of my MBW Sub and my Noob Sub. Not an expert on Subs, but with the help from Ubi, I will be able to use some of the "Noob" parts (date overlay, insert, bracelet) on my MBW as well as install the genuine crown and tube. But for now, enjoy. Pics of the Rehault Side Comparison MBW Upfront Noob Upfront Another MBW Upclose - Date Mag 2.5x. Date font too way too bold Another Noob Upfront - Date Mage doesn't seem 2.5x (I may be wrong). Awesome date font - slim and correct. So, some questions to all to Rollie experts: Q1 - From the comparison of the dials, the 6 and 9 o'clock markers are a tad wider on the MBW than the Noob. Which marker is correct? Q2 - Is the cyclop size on the MBW too small? When comparing vs the Noob, it looks like the Noob's cyclops is bigger, but is that because the MBW's date mag 2.5x? Q3 - Lastly, the cyclops on the Noob is not perfectly centered - seemed to be a tad to the left. Cyclops should be perfectly centered, yes?

Omega Seamaster Chrono Vs. Tag Link Chronograph
triplehd replied to By-Tor's topic in By-Tor's Watch Reviews
By-Tor - excellent review as always ! I smell a Chrono Tournament coming soon. Now, that the Tag Link Chrono has beaten the Omega Chrono in Round 1, what's next for Round 2 - Tag Link Chrono vs Breitling Chrono Avenget? Please let there be a Round 2 ! Please ! -
Before any flames come at ya, try doing a search on this topic.

And who has the best Sub?

Had the asian and eat version of this exact watch - correct dial markers, wave, unbelievable lume, correct insert - except for the pearl of course and engraved clasp. More importantly, correct HE valve positioning. However, sometimes you have to make some sacrifices and that's what I did - sold them both
