  1. Good eye. Even though, IMHO, the Omega symbol when compared to the correct pic, has the correct spacing, the Omega symbol itself is incorrect. The symbol should not be curling upwards. Also, on the bezel, looks the orange triangle outline is missing as well. Otherwise, not a bad watch.
  2. Currently in New Dehli for work where it's a bright a sunny day averaging, oh, I say about 105 Degrees F.
  3. Joe is continuing his comeback from his illness. Got my watch shipped expressed to me as well. Awesome job by Joe. Enjoy your new watch.
  4. I know Ofrie has the gen dials going for just under $200 - ouch !
  5. Ah, would that be you by any chance? Thanks for the wheels Sam.....however, haven't had time to mod that Seamaster yet. Plan on swapping the hands with the gens, change the pearl and maybe get some AR coating on the crystal.
  6. Again, better than most pearls out there - especially the ones that stick out way too much. I can always mod it agian using Velocci's tutorial: http://www.replicacollector.com/members/in...topic=18430&hl=
  7. The rep and gen dial are the same size. My main concern was the date window. The gen is much larger than the rep and wanted to make sure that the date still appeared perfectly centered. From Joe's pics, I would say that the date field is right on.
  8. Originally posted in the General Discussion, but thought I throw the pics in the Omega section as well. Sent Joe an Omega SMP - originally purchased from Silix. Ask Joe to peform the following mods: * Swap the Rep Dial with a Gen Dial (from Ofrei) * Realign the bezel (thanks By-Tor for pointing it out) * Fix the clasp (broken pressure pin) Not only did Joe perform these mods, but when I talked to Joe last night (thanks for taking my call Joe) he told me that he an extra blue insert that was more correct in color to the gen than what my rep had. I asked Joe if he can swap insert and Joe said no problemo. Not only does he swap the inserts, but he went the extra yard and swapped out pearls. Here some pics from Joe: And another: And one more for good measure: I will post some additional shots (espeically the lume) when I receive the watch.
  9. Josh has the blue version - with all of the hands (hour, minute, second & GMT) the correct lenght. Only issue is the bezel insert (look at the number "8" in 18 - not correct). Sean from ETASWISS and all of the colors - black, blue and white with the correct hands lenghts as well, but with the incorrect bezel insert. If you're happy with the insert, no issue then. Or, go on eBAY and source the all silver bezel insert with black numerals. Then you've got one hell of a rep.
  10. Space - I have an extra black datewheel that fits a 2824 movement. From what I heard from others on the board, the datewheel will fit. I am in the US however. Check with a local jeweler first and see if he can get you one. They shouldn't be hard to get.
  11. I would hope Andrew would update the pics on his site or state that the watch being sold does not match the watch pictured on his site - just my 2 cents. 12. Joe - no problem on the support. I owe you the thanks - you did one hell of a job on the watch, as well as my other watches, as usual. And if this is any indication, for everyone else waiting on their watches - Joe will come through. Just give him time to get back to 100% health.
  13. All depends. I would see many GMT reps with countless flaws that you mentioned above, as well as, the incorrect bezel and date wheel. However, rc11o is correct - look at the pic that he posted from Trusty's site. Just explain to Andrew that he sent the wrong watch. Andrew is great guy.
  14. Damn it cwaio2 - those were my hands that you outbid me on!....lol.....your PO definetly looks alot better with the gen hands. Please post a pic of the lume when you get a chance.
  15. It is....got it about a 1 1/2 years ago from Silix. Heavy watch. Great sturdy bracelet. Now with Joe's mods - can I say I got the best SMP rep?
  16. This post couldn't come at a better time. With some recent flame sessions against Joe and some angry members voicing their frustration - well, when Joe said he'll be back soon, he wasn't lying - HE'S BACK ! Here some pics from Joe: And another: And one more for good measure: And for those who are wondering or will ask - yes, I sent Joe my watch many many months ago. However, when Joe fell ill and posted that his asmtha was preventing him from doing any mods, I reached out to him, as did many other members, wishing him a speedy recovery. In addition, like many members did, I told him that my watch could wait - his health and his family comes first, which I can understand and relate to. Every know and then, I would give Joe a call and see how he was doing. For some members who didn't believe Joe about his health, I wished you could have heard how he sounded on the phone. There was no way he was going to any mods, he sound like death. Even with the simplest of mods - like swapping out a dial - I told Joe not to worry about the watches, that members like me understand and could wait until he was back to full health. Well, Joe PMed me yesturday about my watch and I gave him a call. We talked for a good hour and he told me that he was feeling alot better and that he would start working on my watch. Mind you, this was at 10 PM EST. Checked my e-mail and what did I find - pics of my modded watch from Joe. Unbelievable. When I saw the pics, I immediately replied back to Joe with the words - F*CKIN AWESOME JOB ! For those members who have waited patiently and are still waiting - continue to have faith in Joe and DO NOT WORRY. YOUR WATCHES ARE COMING ! Joe - many thanks for taking my calls and doing an unbelievable job on my watch. I have always been extremely satisfied not only with your mods, but taking the time to answer my e-mails and taking my calls. You go out of your way to provide me with in-depth details of watches and mods that I would not have learned anywhere else.
  17. FYI - When speaking with Joe, he stated that his earthlink address was down. He posted a new e-mail address - redbigjoe69@yahoo.com. Try that one.....hope that helps.....
  18. Right - not trying to make the watch look like the gen since Omega didn't make a black version. I do have the older GMT model, black dial with the black datewheel. I just wanted my new GMT to be at least consistant with the way Omega has their black dials with the black datewheels. Great. I have an extra datewheel, so I figure why not use it, right? The look is awesome - not that much lume on the dial, but more on the hands. The watch came with a black padded leather band, which makes the watch "look" alot better than if it came with the stainless steel band. I will try to post some pics up later, hopefully tonight.
  19. Just purchased a black asian Omega GMT (2005 edition- fantasy watch) from a member who originally purchased it from Andrew. Here's Andrew's link of the watch: http://www.trustytime.com/index.php?main_p...products_id=170 Great looking watch. However, the date wheel is white with black numerals, whereas the gen Black Omegas' datewheel is black with white numerals. I have an extra 2824 black date wheel. So my question is - will a 2824 datewheel fit on an asian movement?
  20. Neil- Sent you some e-mails & PMs about this watch - but no reply? Why no reply Neil why?
  21. I thought I'd stop after seeing the first pic....
  22. PMed him inquiry about the PO dials - he wrote back stating that he does not have any at the present moment. Contacted OFrei and they have the orange dial just under $200. Not worth it in my opinion. Therefore, I may just go ahead and replace the hands and maybe the clasp as well.
  23. Yes....the date field is white with black numerals, whereas it should be black with white numerals. HE valve is too low...just to name a few flaws...... Also, notice how he doesn't state anywhere that the watch is genuine or guarantees it authenticity.....
  24. I remember that one member took Andrew's version and installed a gen 007 dial. I remember reading that the POCaliber is based on the 28xx movement, so I wouldn't see why the gen hands wouldn't work on Andrew's......but then again, I'm no watch modder....only a rep collector
