The same reason we all keep using the keywords ULTIMATE, 1:1, and PERFECT!!! Marketing, Marketing, Marketing!!! The only REAL Ultimate, 1:1, Perfect Version iiiisssssssss....... GENUINE! All this hype about being modeled after a genuine piece, and yet we are still pointing out the obvious through internet photos... It's sad that people don't even have this thing in their hands yet and can spot these flaws in 2 seconds... Imagine what a WIS would think of you? The only QUESTION you need to ask these dealers is... will ANY/ALL genuine parts fit on this model? If they say no, then guess what... ITS NOT BASED ON THE GENUINE ARTICLE!!!!!! now, not to be too harsh, it is actually an improvement to Modern SD line... but you have to feel a little betrayed in thinking that this is actually a 1:1 copy...

Not sure if this was mentioned above... but, I see that KING version has HOLLOW MIDLINKS... thats a good sign... Also, looks like the endlinks on KINGS is better and sharper... (better = more correct) Also, the clasp shows 93160, which is correct for the SD... However, the crown stamp still looks horrible... Kinda wished they would start using OEM-STYLE tubes and crowns... Even aftermarket triplock is like 5-10 bucks... Why not start!?!? I am calling it now! I bet ALL of the dealers are going to milk this one for all its worth! 400-500 bucks for a what should be a $150-$250 starting price.

I liked to place a wager on the flaws... First, I am really wondering if they are going to based on 1:1 specs? OR just use the existing SS chrono avenger case as pug shows above? My gut tells me the Skyland rep will be 44mm... not 45mm like the gen... gimme my 1mm!!! Second, is going to be the subdials... I guarantee they wont be split!!! simple flat ones like all the rest... However, they did capture the detail on the SOSF... Prove me wrong!!! Third, there is going to be debate as to the accuracy of the bezel!! AND, with the bezel, comes the pearl!!! So there it is! PP

Uh, just to clarify... I dont think i specified the Daytonas I was talking about... DW is in reference to the Vintage models... 1:1 case design and pretty good fonts on dial... HONPO offered pretty much ALL models dial/bezel combos... PP

I have VERY high hopes/expectations for the skyland! I own gen and rep CA-TI and the finish between the two is night and day! I just hope they get it right with the split subdials and of the course 'the curse pearl' that always seems to be wrong!!!

I have been really looking forward to that NEW SD!! also, that supposed sub that watchmaker9 was taking pre-orders on... It just sucks that some existing models are NOT getting re-vamped or re-finished...
