  2. Funny to be worded like that but can be the harsh truth with reps sometimes. Good luck finding one.
  3. That's a damn beast! Not trying to threadcrap but since we're talking about quartz APs... here is mine. One heck of a watch, quartz or not. Sapphire crystal on this too! Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Chronograph by tylerswatches, on Flickr
  4. I'm sure it would but I liked the idea of the bracelet had it been all brushed. I agree. Really not a fan of too much polished. I think it looks better as an accent but it shouldn't be too overwhelming. I prefer mostly brushed or blasted finishes and I would have much rather had a more POesq ceramic bezel, not the liquid metal. I guess this is a no go at this point for me.
  5. Yeah, I didn't realize. Not a fan of the polished mid links either. I was so excited for this watch, now... not.
  6. I definitely thought the bezel was matt and not liquid metal shiny. Now I am second guessing
  7. I learned a long time ago to expect nothing. I got just about as frustrated as you after waiting 4 weeks with my money sent long ago. Eventually the watch got here but the service was the worst, and from a highly regarded TD. You never know whats going on over there, things can change overnight. The last thing on their mind is customer service, actually I don't think they know what that is. But, the one thing they do know is that if they screw you, it will hurt their business in the long run. Hopefully things will work out and unfortunately for them, you will go to a different TD next time.
  8. And as always with these threads, OP is nowhere to be found.
  9. FYI guys, I've been using this for a while. It's great but, it does use torrents as the backbone. Supposedly they run them through their own VPN but I have heard reports of people still getting flagged by their ISPs for torrent downloading. Other then that it works like a charm.
  10. I think of it this way, some people can leave the house, get in a car accident and never return. You could never say what you wanted to say, you could never have closure. You have every opportunity to shower your son with love and try to prepare him for what might be the hardest thing he'll have to experience. I don't know you at all but I can tell the love you have for him. You will utilize this time, and you might find that you may share some of the best moments of your life with him. You keep fighting, and live every day to the fullest, and maybe... before you know it, another 20 years will have passed. Good luck mate, best wishes!
  11. PAM351. Light titanium, great wrist presence, tobacco dial with gold hands is to die for, can be semi dressy or sporty, great lume. I LOVE THIS WATCH! Panerai 351 by tylerswatches, on Flickr

  13. Never heard anything but good about those Alphas. The only thing that gets me is the logo, not quite as classy as the Rolex logo. Might as well get the whole package if you ask me. I have the Rolex rep, bought it from Sillix. One of the nicest reps I own, and I own a few.
  14. Very nice, looks damn near perfect. Now you just need the clasp. Hopefully that will be coming soon from what I have seen. Already available non branded on the Parnis homages.
  15. I agree with above. I bought a TC bracelet for my SD. Damn! One of the nicest rep bracelets I have ever touched. Definitely genlike.
  16. Lol, that is totally me. Guilty as charged.
  17. I've only had one really bad experience and it was with selling a BP SD to a really new guy. I didn't even pay attention to his post count especially because he was willing to pay my asking price when other members were low balling. After receiving the watch he stated all this absurd stuff, on top of it he had took the watch apart and butchered the keyless which he semi admitted to, and was demanding a refund. During the midst of getting the mods involved and resolving the situation (leaving him banned) I went and read some of his posts. I wish I had done that to begin with, I would have never sold him the watch. It's good to give the benefit of the doubt, but it's also good to do your homework. BTW don't let my post count fool you, I am a long time rep collector but spend most of my time at the other RWG next door.
  18. Oh hai mark... Looks like you went nuts on some great choices. Welcome!
  19. Hey mate, I don't post here much but i just wanted to say you are not alone in these experiences. Life can really be a cold b1tch sometimes. My father is also aging before my eyes and it's sad and frustrating for both parties. It is all part of our time here, as is death, and it's beyond our control. I am very sorry for your loss. The great thing is that we have hobbies and friends like this to take our mind off things, even just for a minute. All you can do now is be patient with your father and try to enjoy the rest of the time you can share together. -Umpa
