  1. yes, yours must be deffective, Tom. Mine also turns from hour to hour as it should be.
  2. I think it is a scam. A watch with absolutely the same features, reability, defects, materials and productions difficulties as some other great reps, done by the same manufacturers, with the same guarantee, with the same lack of spare parts as those other great reps, but asking 3 times the price can be named just as scam. You want to buy it? that's up to you, and it is ok... you will be gratefully and pleasantly scamed and i will enjoy a lot your wrist pics I prefer, as you the best quality as possible, 99% accurate reps, that's why I only buy watches like a Baume&Mercier Riviera for $300, like a Chopard MM XXL grey S. Ed. for $400, like an ultimate BCE's for $300, like a Corum Admiral's for $300, like a deWitt Academia for $400, like an IWC Ingenieur for $250, like a Paul Picot le plongeur for $300, like a Porsche Flat6 for $300... ... like so many other reps wich are, at least, of equal quality to HBB's, but at a third of their price.
  3. Would be interesting to know what are our wise moderators opinions.
  4. No more reability... no greater complications... no higher manufacturing problems ... no nothing else ! I still can't understand why !! = + +

    Mothers.

Thank you for sharing this so beautiful thoughts and experience. I need to visit my 79 years old parents right now. Thank you.
  6. This is an extraordinary rep. One of the best. A must have.
  7. It is very accurate to the gen, but have to confess I don't like it much.
  8. I am with Takashi. Rep AR is very good. Yes, not as good as that we get from Chief and Jakub, but 95 % good enough, so I wouldn't be bothered with it by now.
  9. What an extraorinary review !! Thank you so much for your time and efforts... don't forget to thank your girlfriend for her patient , we need your reviews
  10. Beautiful combination ! Congratulations on that wonderful watch !
  11. I 'm also one of those who don't understand why it has never been done a good rep of any UN, taking in account is one of the most prestigious brands in history. Marine Diver collection is great, and I would be for sure jumping in a sec on a good rep
  12. I would contact your dealer because of that minute hand. Probably it can be easily repaired if you are skilled, but I wouldn't take the risk myself in such a nice watch. I think he should send you a replacement if he is one of the good honest guys.
  13. No doubt. Double AR all the way. It makes the Dial more clear and in some of them, which are beautifully decorated, really makes the watch.
  14. Have anybody anytime bought from this dealer so he could share his experience with us ?
  15. There are many highly qualified watchsmiths in China... and their average salary is about US$250/300 a month. A not highly qualified watchsmith but experienced one earns about US$200 per month. In one working day a HQ watchsmith can do easily 7 to 8 basic services (cleaning, oiling, replacing the gaskets and checking water-resistance). Controlling the watch
  16. Doc, I found myself this is the kind of budget I usually feel comfortable with. There are many nice brands with nice watches under $4,000 but all them are usually not the kind of finish, technology, design or status which makes me happy now. I have/had also some watches/reps wich are cheaper than that, and are very nice indeed, but with the years I have already increased my level of "exigence" in that respect and feel happy only with those "special" or "rare" timepieces. Your example about cars is a wonderful one wich reflects how someone goes climbing in life and then finds there are some minimum quality or status requirements after the years..... so I had an Alfa Romeo, then an Audi, then a BMW, then a Mercedes, and now I find myself with a Lexus... and honestly wouldn't like to have anything less than what I have now You know, when all we start in this hobby, every new rep is a "I want it" ... but then with time all we realize some of those watches are just found somewhere in a booth... now i Know I want just those watches that I will really enjoy in my daily living, and I already learned they have to have date, deployant clasp... and a minimum "status" Have to agree with you about the size, so..... 8. Case has to be no less than 42.5 mm. and no more than 45 mmm.
  17. 1. I have to like it. 2. It has to be, at least, 95% accurate to gen. 3. It has to come with date. 4. If band, has to come with deployant clasp. 5. It has to be different enough to any of my previous watches. In example, if silver case/black dial, and I already have one like that wich already satisfies me, I pass by the new model. 6. If also from a brand I still have no watch, that's a plus. 7. Gen has to be no less than $4,000.
  18. 1. Double AR makes a HUGE difference... you can't believe it until you see by yourself. THIS, IMO, is what you should do. 2. Actual SMP do comes with double AR. This would be my 2nd. option, as dial pattern is so beautiful. 3. Not reallly like this watch. 4. Same as previous. 5. True, gen has no AR, so no sense to make it. Aren't these reps, so they should be as accurate as possible to the gens ?
  19. I am sure they will rep it, and have to agree this 44 mm size is much more reasonable to wear and proporcionate to the eye.
  20. I have serious doubts you will get a very good discount at any AD in Europe... feel happy if you get an strap as a gift and hope for nothing more.
  21. Genuine can come also with black CG lever . Here you have some pics for comparison.
  22. That's it. You have to cut it. Take in account in summer time you will need it a little bit longer ... so size it now about 1 mm. longer than you think you need.
  23. Even if it were a gen, I don't like it much.. if honest.
  24. it looks fantastic. I did similar to my old 196... double AR'd and suddenly it is a new amazing watch. Congratulations.
