  1. Thanks. My other hobby is oil and water colour painting. Similar skill set I would've thought. I think I need better quality oiling pins though. Only 1 size came in my kit.
  2. Was bored today. Thought id crack open a lume kit sitting in my drawer. Since Whoopies dials are lume less, thought I'd try it out there. I really should get a pair of those magnifying glasses. The kind you wear on your head. I need to clean up the edges a touch. But I stayed inside the lines! Reasonable first effort. At first it was too thin. Gotta experiment with consistency. Used an AF lume kit.
  3. I saw it too. Thinking about it..
  4. The SA3135 is too thick. I tried squeezing it into a ST3035 case for my 16800 build and the retaining screws would not clear. I didn't think it would but I tried anyways
  5. Mods please delete this duplicated post. Thanks and a thousand pardons
  6. On the right is a service insert as evidenced by the uber thin font. So is the one on the left a thin font (non-service) insert? No idea how this got duplicated
  7. I just use a tiny cylindrical tapered file. Couple of spins is all it usually needs. Keep test fitting as you go. Eventually the pearl will fit right in. Then epoxy. Those files usually come in a hobby set at most big box hardest stores.
  8. Possibly a repost, But just noticed that Project X launched a limited edition version of the Sub C with an original 8mm big crown. "Vintage" dial as well. Not sure what to think of it. http://rolexpassionreport.com/13265/the-heritage-submariner-big-crown-fusion-of-modern-and-vintage-for-60th-anniversary-of-the-iconic-steel-rolex-submariner/
  9. Here is a better side profile. But yes, I see your point about the shorter pinion walls. no idea why that was rotated like that. I suck at the internet
  10. That's great CC. appreciate the research. So these will most likely NOT fit on a 1520 then? So I own a set of mystery hands. Oh well. Into the parts bin they go
  11. Here's the other side of the hands
  12. Anyone have an idea what these hands might've been originally meant for? I'm hoping they are for a mid 60's 5513. But not sure if the 5513 ever had gold hands. Any help is appreciated.
  13. Horween shell cordovan is the best quality leather you can buy. Plus it's the only leather that can be thin enough for NATO style. Good luck. I'm placing another order with Jan today as well.
  14. Try Jan. I've bought from him before. Excellent work as well: http://www.jankoxxx.eu

  16. Doesn't get any better than Bulang & Sons http://www.bulangandsons.com
  17. Looks great. I've got one of those myself. Assuming that's a gen 5513 service dial?
  18. Beautiful. Love the faded inserts. What mid case are you using for your Latest NOS build?
  19. Got a lot of goodies delivered the past 2 days: Bottom right: Yuki 5513 case, case back, bezel assembly and Yuki insert Bottom left: HH 5514 prototype case, case back, bezel assembly Top middle: Gen 5513 service bezel assembly, service insert (retaining ring not in photo). After careful comparison, HH's bezel is by far better than the Yuki. The Yuki insert sucks, but won't be using it anyways. However the Yuki dot is actually very nice. I will most likely use the gen assembly on the yuki case These should keep me busy for awhile.
  20. Congrats!. Looks great. Howz the bracelet?
  21. Is the 702 the correct crown for the 5514? Having a bit of a brain fart. Thanks
