  1. I have a MKII modded "yellow" monster I could let go. Very rare now that Bill Yao no longer mods the monsters.
  2. Was the gen 16610 LV sub ever available to the public with lug holes?
  3. I tip my hat to you for persevering with this project. I'd be happy to help out if I can (I believe I read somewhere that you are in the Toronto area?).
  4. Seriously, don't get any James Bond edition omega rep. No ones been able to get the blue correct on any SMP rep (I know.. I have a gen SMP crono). Like I said, get a PO (Planet Ocean) as already discussed.
  5. I prefer the clasp from the TC 93160 SD bracelet.
  6. You should go for a 42mm PO or the 45mm UPO. Sunnydale crystal mod is also a given.
  7. There are no good Skyfall reps that I'm aware of at least. Current models have incorrect case backs among other issues. Of the two choices, get a gen Omega. In fact, if you don't currently have a gen Omega or Rolex or comparable, I suggest getting one and when you get a nice rep, you will truly understand how good these rep builders are, despite how much all of us [censored] and complain about minute tells. My first nice gen was a circa '97 Omega SMP Chrono.
  8. That looks great! Key is to get the printing nice and crisp. Coronet a hair fat, but otherwise that's a tremendous start!
  9. That dial looks great! Terrific job. Good luck with the build. Nothing wrong with building a hybrid. That's what this hobby is all about.
  10. Don't want to hijack an old thread, but I received a ST3135 case recently and I can confirm that it has lug holes. Not sure if that's a recent change since my understanding was that their 3135's had no lug holes a few months ago.
  11. Insert looks gen. Bezel looks rep to me. Scallops are too shallow methinks.
  12. You've gone this far ..... Might as well get a gen mid-case to make it complete.
  13. I have a 10 yo 1655 case as well. Looks like I'll be firing up the Dremel soon. Btw, this post should be entered in the tutorial/mod contest!
  14. Could you not use a Clark's bezel assembly instead? I actually just ordered a MBK 5513 from Reg yesterday! Thinking of using either a Clark's or 5tarT1me bezel (I'm assuming they carry one that fits the MBK).
  15. So I shouldn't feel so bad I bought the Sub C with this movement then? =).
  16. Yuki just got them back in stock yesterday. Bit of a price jump thanks to this tear down !! (J/K) $275 now.
  17. Great stuff. How easy was it to regulate the timing? Is it something a person with some basic skills could attempt?
  18. Yes, we should all pitch in and buy a community kiln, gold/platinum sand blaster, bags of precious metal dust, and a ceramic buffing wheel. It's doable! I will contribute $8.67 to these purchases.
  19. I actually left the insert on. I took the pearl of by heating it with my soldering iron. I was going to get my paint stripping heat gun out to pry the insert off, but felt it wasn't required for the painting. Used a very fine point artist brush which avoided the need to remove the insert. It may be possible to scrape away the sides of the channels using an exacto knife. I may try that one day.
  20. Yeah. Will never be a true (1:1!) match no matter how hard we try. But at least the bezel paint is no longer the mist obvious flaw. Gotta replace that hideous pearl now! But this V2 sa3135 sub c really is tremendous out of the box. Need to shave down the CGs a touch and I think it's good to go.
