  1. Is Google translate in Yoda mode? Least of your worries "Swiss Made" is. "Rolex" ....not good..... But much worse, I have seen.
  2. Sneak peek as promised: Again.. just a fun weekend project. Using spare parts in the bin.
  3. I have this ,alleged, Swiss ETA 2836-2 lying around and I need to use it in a mini fun project. But, I'd like to remove the date function so there there is only one click when you pull out the crown.. I know I probably need to replace that funky-looking-notched-dohicky (I think that's the official name for it) over the keyless works, but what part number do I need? And where would I get it? Anything else I need to do? I will accept donations of said required part(s) if someone has a no date eta that is gathering dust. If so, I will give you a sneak peek at the project .
  4. If you are using a Yuki, might I recommend shaving the CG's a little bit? Yuki could lose a little bit of weight. Here's a reference shot. Gen on top.. Yuki on bottom (if you coudn't tell )
  5. Well my fellow Rolex brethren, It is with joy and a bit of sadness that my 5513 project is just about complete. The aim was to create the most accurate mid '60's 5513 sub as possible..preferably a gilt. The starting point was a gen cal 1520 movement... A Yuki case was ordered and i had a nicely relumed Yuki 5513 gilt dial that I acquired a year or so ago.. But as I was trolling through the jewelry district in NYC the other month, I stumbled upon a nicely weathered (to put it mildly) gen meters-first gilt dial. I snatched it up immediately. Upon installing in the Yuki case, it was obvious to me that the case had to go.. I then committed to go (nearly) all gen on this one. Finding a gen mid case was not easy that's for sure..not to mention cost. Thank you @lionsandtigers for your help and support. So here are the specs: Gen 5513 mid case Gen caseback Gen 1520 movement Gen gilt dial/hands Clarks T19 crystal (I will replace it in due coarse) Gen 700 twinlock crown/tube (will replace with NOS set as the crown is slipping a tiny bit) Gen retaining ring Gen NOS service bezel (looks way too new) Gen insert Gen 20x2mm spring bars Horween shell cordovan strap Rolex Inox buckle
  6. I have a used one that I will post for sale soon.
  7. Carol is very easy to deal with. Yes. Eta adapters are available.
  8. My 666 Took longer than anticipated filled with many headaches and budget over runs. Finally got around to ruluming the dial to match the hands. Those are temporary until I can find a reasonably priced gen matte dial (which just happen to be one of the rarest dials in Rolexdom) Specs: Gen mid case Gen Caseback Gen bezel assembly Gen crystal Gen 93160 bracelet Gen crown/tube Relumed Yuki dial/hands
  9. This is such a tease! Can't wait to see it. Congrats. Best of luck on the assembly. Very special project indeed.
  10. Yes. I had to remove the Yuki 703 tube. Retap. Then installed a new tube with loctite. Fine now. I'd rather it come drilled but untapped. That's what I woukd request next time.
  11. Looks great. I have an Athaya big crown on the way for a project. I have a Yuki 5513 case. I notice that they did a terrible job of threading the tube. It's like their tap is super dull or something.
  12. I have no idea. It's just one possible solution. Sorry. Good luck
  13. Sorry. Typo. Rest of post got cut off
  14. I stand corrected. Its a rep if a circa 60's 5512 4 liner.
  15. Not sure if the chapter ring should be there. Also "Swiiss" is incorrect with the 4 liner Bart Simpson 5512's. I believe bit should say "Swiss -
  16. Looks like a 5512 gilt. But cartel rep quality.
  17. So you want to put a cal 3186 with a gen dial into a rep ceramic case? Here is a solution: You acquire a SA3135 V2 sub C. The case will take a gen 3135 and I'm fairly certain the 3186 will fit as well. Of course you would then have to replace the sub insert with a ceramic GMT insert. Not sure if the BP insert will into this case, but I'm guessing it will. Problem will be getting the insert off as the SA3135 has a permanently afixed bezel. Ryan at InTime can get you the SA3135 sub http://www.intime.co/product.php?id_product=71
