  1. Well said Diesel! Absolutely. And, yes, I can imagine how you will feel with your 1665 and I'm very happy in anticipation for you... @V: If I was rich, I would buy the rep, have it modded and buy the gen too. For every Rolex I like
  2. I second that. Gen are not bringing more satisfaction at all. It's such a great fun to mod a rep and fix the various tech issues (at least it should be fun, Diesel ) At the end, when your rep is almost 100% what you wanted it to be, you "deserve" to wear it. Buy a gen at ADs or Traders, you're right: so easy Cheers Stephane
  3. Wow, interresting read from a year ago: same wording and same results.... But that was Oct 5 2006, 08:39 PM Package seems so sexy. Lord, please note I am gratefull to You that I met some nice people here that did NOT take my money and run.
  4. Guys, I still consider myself as a noob (and probably will forever), but seriously, I knew about Joe as I read lots of stupid things (Dust Blow = 65$...). I also read a lot of other bad stories about some "super modders". So I stayed away from them. @Diesel: I am so sorry of what happens to you ! Sincerely. @ Double T: splendid 1680 indeed. @All: I bought my 1680 Red MBW from Edge (a respected member here, and a very nice person). I paid 750$ watch included. The details of what Edge did to that watch can be found in the thread in my sig. But believe me it's full of true gen parts. I do not know Joe, thus will not say anything about that guy. But I know personally many members who posted "stay away" and i'm glad this place, RWG, saved me from a so bad experience. Waiting is not an issue. Being screw*d is painfull. Cheers Stephane
  5. Let's keep our 1665 !!! They will reach a huuuuuuge value in our rep world if Rolex starts to use maxi dials !!!
  6. That was a great moment. Thanks for sharing Cheers Stephane
  7. Very wise BT and very good advice. So, now that "King's good" disappeared from her site, maybe Josh will post the "King's good" with a normal dial
  8. EDIT: Changed my mind as I saw Edge's 1680 Red in the cabinet. That baby did not have much wrist time lately. It is a gem though Modded with love and genuine parts all over the watch
  9. Well, I enjoyed them. I never saw such an enthousiasm for a band so far. That Bill (singer) does not sing very well but smiles very well. We were there at 15.30 and there was already a huge crowd. We waited till 18.45 to enter and the concert started at 19.30. Believe me or not, these girls screamed from 15.30 till 21.15 ! It is a kind of Beatlemania indeed. We tracked them after the concert to follow them to the hotel...arrived at the hotel 30 seconds to late (they were already inside). But a very nice "older" girl (16-17?), that had multiple signature of the band members, gave a signed concert ticket to my daughter. It was Tom signature Oh, very important: the Noobmariner survived
  10. @ElWopo Make a search before you buy. Numerous members are not happy with Jewellery Outlet...some others are. http://www.rwg.cc/members/index.php?showtopic=52379&hl= Cheers Stephane
  11. Thanks for the tips guys, but on amazon.fr these books cost a fortune... Up to 423
  12. BT and Jet said it all. Do not touch that Rolie. If you ever send it to Rolex, take pictures with a newspaper to make sure you have a prove it was like that before they swapped all the parts for new ones. Congrats for this purchase, it's indeed a nice piece way too much underestimated. Cheers Stephane
  13. @EW: You do have a nice year membership ahead for sure and you won't be forgotten for that gesture. A member placing a 500 bid as a max, then get the auction for 230 but still pays 500, well, what more can one say if not: You are a true gentleman, no doubt about that. I wish I was less shelfish and spend some more on RWG than on my mods and watches. But hey, EW, you put the target very high this time. Once again, thanks to EW and TT for that incredible great gesture. Cheers Stephane
  14. Cool to hear the experts opinion now. I think I wasn't that wrong with Josh's SD (sorry Josh, no bad intention here). A mordern SD would look great in my collection, but I'm not in a hurry getting one. As long as we do not have a very accurate one that only needs "traditional" mods (CG-Insert/Pearl-Crystal) and accept these gen parts, the MBK vintage are sexy enough for me. Cheers and thanks for your opinions that serve our Rolie community. Stephane
  15. Did you ever say to your self: "I will not wear this one and keep it safe, wrapped, scratch free for my collection" ? I did. I left my Noobmariner wrapped in a box untill today! I picked up my Great White this morning but then realised it is Tokio Hotel day here. Tokio Hotel ? A german pop band for teenagers and kids. The Tokio Hotel Mania is almost as crazy as the Beatlemania was. http://tokiohotel.pop24.de/tokiohotel2/index2_en.php As I'm the happy father of an almost 12 years old daughter, I have to go to the concert! We will probably wait for 4 or 5 hours outside in the crowd to make sure we can be as close as possible to the stage. So, shall I take the risk of loosing my Great White in that mess No of course. But I really need a Rolie on my wrist today. I decided to wear the Noobmariner. Please, have a thought for me poor old thing that will stand for a total of 7 or 8 hours Cheers Stephane
  16. Hmmm, yes, sorry. Tribal did my 16610 so I guess rather ask him where he would suggest to look...
  17. ClassicWatchParts. http://www.classicwatchparts.com/ That is where both my friends who are taking care of my Rolies do buy them. Cheers Stephane
  18. Maybe we might have to wait for the "Definitive" that could come after the "perfect" and "ultimate"
  19. Once again a nice review BK. Thanks for your time. Cheers Stephane
  20. me too But they are going to tell us: - insert and pearl are off, - bezel teeth too narrow - CG are off too, to fat - date window .... does not seem to be the super SD we're waiting for yet
  21. I completely agree with TT. EW rocks! I was thinking to bid a little more, but I must confess I never planned such a bid. 500 is not only a nice amount of money for RWG but proves, if needed, that EW was really looking at supporting only, not at buying a watch. Thanks to TT and EW for making this possible. Cheers Stephane
  22. Well we realize your efforts Rocket...and for that, thank you very much. Cheers Stephane
