  1. The materials is what would affect the price of the watch. $650 might have to do with the watch having a ceramic bezel. Hoblots are still overpriced in my opinion, but they are of better quality then what you will normally find. Read some of the reviews and you will get a better idea.
  2. You overpaid by about 150 pounds. Check the dealers we have here and you will soon learn. The Carrera goes for about $270 shipped from a number of reliable dealers.

This is a fantasy piece. If you are ok with that, then go right ahead. Unless you are on watchforums all day no one would be able to tell.
  4. I would also recommend Trevor. His prices are competitive and he is willing to cut deals. PM for more info.
  5. I will buy one right now. RIGHT NOW.
  6. I got the first 6 episodes. The first to PM me will get Season 4 and all episodes of Season 5 shipped to them on a DVD free of charge. SMOKE JUMPERS! CONUS
  7. not a sub fan, but this review has me thinking. thanks bt.
  8. The date font looks bolder then DSNs. Hope someone can comment.
  9. A lot of votes for the SFSO, but isn't the date a big tell?
  10. thanks everyone, i wanted a closed back and thought this looked good. thanks again.
  11. What is your opinion on DSN's 02A dial. I was thinking of getting this with a PVD case. I think it looks pretty good, but accuracy is key for me, and I rather trust the opinion of the members of this board then my own eyes. Thanks in advance.
  12. I have the asian and it runs great. If you want the watch there is no point in waiting.
  13. Give paul at pam111 a try. he has been pretty good.
  14. dial looks pretty good, you strap isn't too bad either.
  15. I have Redwing boots, and use the beeswax that I bought to oil the boots to grease up the strap. Turns out nicely.
  16. thanks for that robbie. i have a nikon and my lens has VR, but I will look into throwing it on to my tripod.
  17. looks great. what kind of lens and what kind of settings. my current dslr macro lens sucks and really need to get a new lens to take photos like this.
  18. DSN has a really nice 112 dial. Just a thought.
  19. Looks like it is fixed PR.
  20. Poor manners on my part. The pictures look really good, and with the croc strap from the other thread the watch is smashing. Where were you able to get the croc, Raymond?
  21. My coworker purchased the Skyland while in China and he had asked me to take it to the watchsmith for him (I live in an Asian neighborhood with a watchsmith that is quite rep friendly). This may be or may not be pertinent, but the watchsmith remarked that the Asian movement was very good. There wasn't any unusual stress. He said that it should be good for a year or two if worn properly and kept in a winder. He also said that with proper service there shouldn't be any issues. Maybe my friend got lucky, but I think the Chinese are just getting "that" good.
  22. I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Chiefs cyclops. I am a huge datefont nut, and the 104 datefont made by Lello, DSN, and found in the new crop of 104s from the Cartel, are actually quite good. But, I think it is the cyclops that really misses the mark. My friend has an 88, and another owns the 104 and both dates are really bold. From any angle, and any distance the date is quite bold. My 104 comes close only from certain angles, and contingent on the specific day. Is it worth getting a Chiefs cyclops? Are there are options out there that can possibly rival the optics of Panerai? Thanks in advance.
  23. Thanks you. Pictures look great. A bit big, but your pictures show how far along reps have come.
