This took me a while to write, and I am using the discount to get Longines Master Collection watch. Thought I would give the community a way to enjoy a gen.

Get a 010D in a PVD case. DSN's dial is really good, good PVD case, and he has the correct case back. I have thinking of this combo for a while now, and feel it might warrant the effort.
Your best bet is to source a movement from the bay, and everything else from DSN. His PVD is superior to what you can find on ebay because he bead blasts his cases before the PVD treatment.
The parts you are asking are correct. I suggest sending your watches to Jakub in Poland. He will do the swap, as well as get your crystal AR coated. However, AR coating is only necessary for Slevin and not for the GST.
Most local watch shops can do the swap, but some may not be willing to work on a rep.
Thanks a lot mjmurphy. The pictures helped a lot. The magnification looks pretty good. The font could be slightly bolder, but still pretty impressive. Thanks again.
I am on the brink of making my next DSN purchase. Can anyone share a good picture of the date font. I have seen a lot of gens and am concerned about the size, and the crispness of the dates. Thanks in advance. BTW I have done a search, and still need more.
Thanks for the pic Stormtrooper. How is the magnification? I agree that DSN's font has improved dramatically, however the magnification does not seem adequate. I know I have brought this to sssurfer, but hope you can give us your opinion.
With the exception of DSN's QC I am always skeptical of the date font. DSN never takes a good picture of the date font with magnification, this makes me a little worried. BTW your date font looks pretty good though.
That date looks pretty bad. What happened to the upgrade? Is that a magnification or date wheel problem. Either way I agree teh dial is very good, just poor date font.
