  1. I'm looking out for something similar too for the girlfriends upcoming birthday. Problem is she likes her watches to be uncomplicated (not a problem) and have big numbers and contrasting hands so she can tell the time easily without putting on the other glasses. Thinking about the Bvlgari Serpenti but I think the gold with black dial looks the best and PT doesn't do that combination. I showed her the gold + silver dial Serpenti and the first time she said she liked it, and the next time it was "OK" - anyone got a dictionary from "woman" to "man"? Her friends aren't that clued up on watches so they wouldn't be curious about her wearing a $15,000 watch.
  2. My thoughts are with you both Mickey. I went through this a few years ago and my mum kept on going until we all got there, me last, I turned up at the hospice and she suddenly became completely lucid and chatted to me. I'm so glad you got there in time to tell her you love her. And Andy, you're an example to us all in selflessness and compassion. Either that or you have one hell of a project coming up for Mickey
  3. Moab says he can't get in. Been trying all weekend and is having to slum it over at RWG.bz
  4. There are 10 types of people in the world, those that can and those that cannot.
  5. 40 days power reserve? I'd have thought they would have enough space inside for a 400 day power reserve!! (and an electric winder in the other arm )
  6. Love the look of these. Did you design the internal volume / internal shape / baffles using a speaker design package? I take it the tweeters are closed back? Ported speakers do sound great and give you plenty of bottom end extension but it'll mean they will need to be carefully positioned, limiting their application (thinking of the Wife Acceptance Factor here ) Currently using Epos ES25 floorstanders driven by Bryston 4B SST which I love but the amp is too powerful for the speakers.
  7. I maintain an app that allows you to find any dealer or modder from any of the forums, see my sig for where to get it from. Just checked all the rep dealers here and they all appear to be working (apart from one - KingWatch, which says it's down for maintenance and has a link to a dodgy looking free anti virus checker that I've just disabled...)
  8. Bonkers, everyone! Well done CC and here's to a ribbit free forum!!
  9. "The dog is sleeping on the package and we don't like to wake him up."
  10. Meyers does have some valid points. IWCs reply does too, upto a point. They had to change to survive some time ago, but the modern dilution of the brand wasn't necessary to survive, but to expand to further profits for the shareholders. They could have stayed true to their core values, not bought out the minor variations and current customers would probably be a lot happier (and still buying), but IDK how much that would affect their profits. Is this current dilution a transitory phase? And once they have gone through it they'll have two ranges, the frequently changing range for the "stars" and fans who just want the name and don't give a fig about what's inside or IWCs history, and the original family of watches with tastefully done improvements to appeal to the old market? To do the latter they'll need a "cash cow" with would be the former, but they'll have to get to that position where they have those two ranges first.
  11. From their description the normal packet service they pick it up, send it to the destination country and hand it over to the default postal service who deliver it to you at the cheap rate service, so depending how slow your default, local service is, that will delay it some.
  12. So you come onto a forum where the main subject matter is replica watches, where we discuss them, anything else, exchange ideas, experiences, hobbies about watches and everything else, all in all a community. And say "the ideas of replicas suck, I don't care about any of you, I don't want to know any of you, I don't care what any of you think". You may be a great person to know (you may be a troll but I give everyone the benefit of the doubt), but you have filled your head up with preconceptions of who you think a typical "rep owner / rep wearer" is, and you couldn't be further from the truth. Wipe away all those preconceptions and just say "Hi" with an open mind. You'll get a pleasant response.
  13. Same for me, crashes every time I try to open the list of forums. (iPad 2, IOS It works fine on TZ-UK though, so maybe RWG needs to update it's TaT plugin on the server or something?
  14. <drool> I'm happy that you got that picture of you racing it Andy, must bring back great memories! That engine's superb, a heck of a jump in power from standard. Were the internals replaced with forged parts, high compression, etc? And don't those bell mouths allow a lot of dust, etc, into the carbs and cylinders? I'd so love to have a serious go at some sort of racing but would struggle to finance a simple track day car at the moment - maybe a very simple buggy at grass tracking events for a year
  15. Happy new year my friend! I bet you get a great view of the fireworks from the air
  16. If this is a risk where you are, ALWAYS take the parcel, open it and check the contents (briefly, there's no need for a half hour - using a loupe check) BEFORE signing. If the postal worker tries to demand that you sign first, ignore them and insist you check the parcel and contents. If they refuse to hand it over before signature, get the delivery drivers name, the registration of the delivery van, and then phone the postal company right there in front of the driver and complain like hell. Whatever you do, do not sign anything or accept anything, even if it ends up that you don't sign and don't get the parcel. You've already complained, so the postal worker can't forge the signature and pretend it was delivered, so it'll have to be returned to the TD who can resend it via DHL or similar. That would suck, and take ages to get back to the TD and cost another $40 or so to be sent via DHL, but you'd still get the watch eventually. That is what I would do, but Toro deals with these things all the time and is better placed than I am to advise, Toro, is this correct or is some other way a quicker way of resolving it?
  17. I suppose it all depends if you need quick access to the funds or not, or have a need for the funds right now. If the answer is no and no, and the moneys just going to be sitting in a savings account making 0.1% APR interest, and you enjoy the gen, keep it.
  18. Rest in peace Cats, my thoughts are with you and your son and family. The past few weeks every time I saw an update in his thread I hoped it would be a reply from him and did wonder if he'd gone into a hospice. We all got to go sometime and Cats inspired me with his selfless attitude to life right up to the end.
  19. Happy Christmas to everyone here! A great bunch of people, and thank you all for making be welcome
  20. I know you didn't mention it specifically, but as I said the problem is that sellers name is now linked to the word "scammer" in this thread by association through your post. If you hadn't linked to the sales thread it would have just been a general comment which is fine, but the link was given.
  21. Just saving Mike some typing - kind of a "mini MOAB"
  22. I realise it must be frustrating when this happens, and very rude from the buyers point of view, but it doesn't automatically make them a scammer and personally I wouldn't have linked this persons name to this thread about a scammer.
  23. Guaranteed to get those aches and pains out of your watches!
  24. This "daily" thread is over a month old guys!!
