  1. Welcome to the forums Check our Trusted Dealer list, but first, do yourself a favour, and read plenty, including the reviews etc.
  2. Some progress to report. Today I removed the small tubes from the battered donor Carrera CV2A10 case which guided and held the rep chronograph pushers in the case. I first heated them up using a soldering iron, and then tapped them out, and out they popped What was interesting once these were removed, they both have tiny O-Rings, which obviously aid water resistance. You can just about see in the photo below.. Photos of case holes now with the tubes removed... Now onto the good news. If you have been following my progress on this build you will recall me planning to tap/die the tubes I just removed so I could screw in the genuine threaded pushers (Red Start/Stop gen pusher pictured above), and then refit/bond the tubes, and gen pushers into the case. After checking the above gen pusher against the hold left in the case after tube removal, I am happy to report, I will no longer need those tubes, the threaded part of the gen pushers are 0.8mm bigger than the holes, so I can now tap the thread directly into the case, thus making a much better water tight fitting. Once done, i will use a bonding agent with PTFE properties. And here's a quick photo of my work bench as I finished work today
  3. Thats what I did, purchased a genuine Tag Heuer decorated Calibre 16 ETA 7750
  4. I was trying to buy those a while back but the shipping came to more that the screws
  5. Search for it my friend, its something you can't tell from the top of your head lol, theres a few part numbers.
  6. Yes, the screws can be swapped out for silver. The cousinsuk part numbers are about somewhere, you will have to specifically search for them. The ETA7750 will fit too, straight swap, even the movement holder will fit too.
  7. Welcome aboard Brian. Look forward to more posts/thread/photos from you mate.
  8. If you want to remove/flatten the circumference around the bezel area, you would be better off machining it, or with a flat sander as to ensure the whole area is completely flat.
  9. Not entirely sure on this, but I believe the white dial version has always been more accurate, its the black dial that has no arrows on the G. White dial or black dial? I have a genuine dial on my franken, you sure your not confusing mine with what you have seen?
  10. With the right tools, and experience yes, likewise with the 0 of 50, but to be honest, once you have the watch in hand, you will then wonder what all this fuss is about, you are looking at large photos of a 36mm dial in a 43mm watch. You have been here over two years, have you never purchased a rep before?
  11. Thats a great combo, your right, it works. Wear it well mate.
  12. Yes, replace with genuine parts (which I am in the process of), or just buy a gen watch. You are buying a rep here my friend, you cannot expect it to be perfect.
  13. Also to note, from my personal experience, the chronograph hand is spot on, its the combination of rep bezel, (no insert on your model) and chapter ring making it look off in your case. Trust me, I know, I have compared reps to gen parts during my franken. Think about it, the hands are set/fitted out of the case, and when fitted in the case, they are still set at 12, but as said, the chapter ring, and bezel insert are a minute detail off.
  14. Yes, I already pointed the obvious out to you, if you are not 100% ask for another watch, stating the flaws pointed out. The 0 of 50 being the worst.
  15. The chrono had is pretty much spot on, green light it if you are happy.
  16. I can see several flaws, but as said its a rep, and once you have it in hand you won't be able to tell. A couple of these flaws are the 0 of 50 is crooked so is the 5, and the 5 of 15 is off a little. If you like it, green light it
  17. Not got round to the pushers yet, but I fixed my Digital Calliper today so got some finer measurements on a couple of parts. For reference: Genuine Crystal dia: 37mm Replica Crystal dia: 36.95mm Genuine Black Insert dia: 42.75mm Replica Black Insert dia: 42.74mm As you can see, the inserts are very very close, but the crystal difference, whilst small @0.05mm, when working with such small, precise fitting parts, this small 0.05mm is a big deal, and can ultimately halt a project. I will see how I get on when I have the genuine crystal in hand, and also check the gen gasket also. I may need to carry out some milling work, but we shall see. More measurements of other parts in this build to follow soon.
  18. Thats a thing of beauty, and you can see the passion reflected in its finish my friend. Stunning.
  19. Try in M2M on the various forums, as you never know, someone may have a damaged case, and have the spares. Failing this, you could try asking some TD's? If push comes to shove, you could possibly try and make your own, obviously depending on your skill set, and access to small springs.
  20. There is no click sprint on the BP sub, you are missing the four spring loaded parts which create the click sound, and prevent from turning clockwise. So, you need 4 x prongs, and 4 x matching tiny springs.
  21. Solk is I believe on RWG next door. From my understanding it was he who worked with 3d graphics in the design of the RWG watch.
