  1. thanks for those photos, jet -- is that your own watch, by the way? 2 questions: - is the (T) supposed to be that low on the dial? - what do you see about it that tells of a bad re-dial? just trying to learn more about the 5513 and 5517. thanks again. jsph

  3. are you talking about the three-finger salute? ugh... but seeing this, i understand -- finally -- this guy's unprecedented finacial success.... this kid was gorgeous!!

not to worry -- for marrickvilleboy, even his replica watches must be made of all-genuine omega parts. including the case. you'll be fine.

do NOT mess with marrickvilleboy. don't hate him because he's heart-breakingly beautiful. angered, he may replace your innards with genuine omega parts. i've seen it happen. it's not pretty -- but it's a great mod. the man from omega...
  6. > i am a boy, but i sometimes would like to be a pretty girl swimming naked in the sea. i... uh... hm... ok. but can we have the other avatar back, with the boombox?
  7. that is one hell of a wicked watch. congratulations. and thanks for the photos. now, you've got to do a review, how the chrono functions, everything! it can be your way of evening out the karma, see? take care, and have fun with it. jsph
  8. bazz -- beautiful blue smp! genuine hands, it looks like? tell me something about this watch, dude! love it. jsph
  9. thanks for the photos and info. i'm surprised -- if i read that right, the big 45mm has 20mm lugs?!... the gen can't be like that, can it?
  10. beautiful -- thanks for those photos. white one really is nice. didn't know all that about the various gmt movements. very interesting. got a lot to learn before jumping into the gmt pool one of these days. take care, jsph
  11. is manuel a girl or a boy? i don't know. but his avatar is absolute rock solid! nice work.
  12. r11co: that's funny -- cuz the planet ocean is pretty f-ugly to begin with!! jsph -- the entire world needs two watches: rolex 5513, omega 2254.50. ok, three: gshock 5600.
  13. krustybrand: good luck w/ those new parts and mods. really looking forward to hearing more about how things go with that. luckily, sounds like quite a lot of "pros" here, with a lot of experience to share. best of luck, and let us know. jsph
  14. thanks. how do you like it, with the hollow midlinks? i haven't got one like that yet, but worried it'll either feel too light/chincy, or those mid links might stretch or collect junk inside, etc... and who did you get this through, by the way? jsph
  15. The Zigmeister, there is no doubt you are incredible at what you do. and very rare. i just hope one day i'll have a deserving watch, and the funds, to get the The Zigmeister treatment! maybe someday soon if i'm lucky. frankly, i can't even picture how you do what you do, in the lume department. how?! have someone take pictures of your godly hands at work or something. holy smokes. jsph
  16. thanks for the url! i imagine i'll be a don convert fairly soon, too! take care, jsph
  17. great post. thanks so much. very useful info, since one must alternate one's watch buying sprees with band buying sprees! by the way, i guess i'm green enough to not know about don. you gave the url for his customer images, but i didn't see a direct link to his catalog, prices, contact info, etc... ? thanks again, and sorry for the bad experiences along the way. i know exactly what you mean about dealers just dropping you when you ask one too many questions or whatever. hmpf. jsph
  18. tanfo -- you are one hardcore son of a... you're the man. i can't even process what i've just seen. unbelievable. but it's not safe keeping all those watches in one place. you send me your vintage 5517, 5513, and any vintage sea-dwellers for off-site safe-keeping at my place. my fees are very reasonable, and they will be well taken care of. sincerely, jsph
  19. bluespower: WHAT HAVE YOU DONE WITH STEVIE?!
  20. that is absolutely terrific. congratulations on both of them. i had the impression they had the 2892 black ones as well (2254.50), since i did see some comparison shots at some point, but maybe i was wrong about the movement. marrickvilleboy has since outfitted his reps with genuine movements, but it's a bit of a shame that the 2824 cases are noticeably thicker and no mod can fix that. (this marrickvilleboy character is something else! another current thread shows off his stuff. amazing.) it's a real shame how these reps wax and wane in quality and so on. glad you were able to snag one. i guess at that time i was still naive as to there even existing a rep community, so nourishing my habit with affordable regular watches (seiko, citizen, etc) while thinking my grail watches would be forever unreachable. well, they still are, but there are some darn good reps, aren't there! wear it well, as they say! good stuff! take care, jsph
  21. dachshund: if that black one is one of the slim, near-perfect 2892 versions, you just give a call if you want someone to keep an eye on it for you or something? don't be a stranger now!
  22. ttk: that blue calendar speedmaster is really something else! that's a fully functioning rep or what? congrats on the computer purchase. i used to be the world's greatest mac fanatic, but over the last few years i've gotten to use macs, windows, and linux, each for different things. having your particular hardware is amazing because you can actually have whatever gui or operating system you want (eventually). hope it helps with all the digital photo stuff, too! * by the way, if you are having a sale for real, please send me a pm if you have any s/s omega devilles on leather or bracelet. and any vintage subs / SDs! take care, and enjoy!
  23. > I hope R11co doesnt mind me filling in here for this question, but... sounds good. i'm seeing these various mods just pile up in price, though. originally i was excited that for about $28 + $18 you could get the genuine hands, but then the dial costs half the price of the rep, and i have no idea how much the crown/tube -- and trick installation -- would run. i'm guessing, though, that at least fitting the original crown/stem to the 2824 is not going to be a problem... but then, you've got the original movement anyway, so it's no issue at all. >> I think Marrick works for Omega.... > i certainely do my friends....but don't tell anyone! NO WAY!!! YOU DO NOT! DON'T TEASE ME LIKE THAT! AAAAGH!! NO WAAAAY!!
