Don't care much for the Service Dial look on vintage BUT I love the faded insert. First item of business is to put a long cornet period correct 702 crown on it. If you can't afford gen, go for Athaya's 702 and 7020 tube. Next shave that crown guard down a bit more, inside and out. Good to go.

3 years ago when I was at the top of my PAM craze, I had 5 straps (Gunny, Heroic, Paneray, Wontoncraft and OEM) I got rid of my PAM111M and all my straps except my favorite: Paneray Brown Calf Strap. I just purchased a new PAM 111N V3 and will be pairing it with my Ray Brown Calf. Now I wanted to get some more Paneray straps but the site seems to be down: http://www.paneray.com/paneray/signature.album/signature.album.html Anyone know if Ray is still making straps?

Both Classics I just sold my SMP from 1999 and upgraded to the Co-Axial Version. So far I'm loving the black dial. Maybe in a couple of months, I'll start missing the blue.

Well the reps are getting better and better every year. It's good to know that there are still certain features that sets a rep apart from a gen.

Does anyone know if this rep comes with the red seal maker on the caseback? Also do the serial numbers alternate or are they all the same?

Your 16610 is a better rep. I'd keep the 16610 or mod soften up your 1680 and get a correct crown for it.
