  1. The comparo next to the gen really shows how good this looks !! Awesome watch P Enjoy FGD
  2. This is the way I see it - the same as with most parts 90% to Gen - $40 95% to Gen - $100 98+% to Gen - $200+ 100% Gen!! - $450 + It's almost impossible to make something perfectly 1:1 even with a genuine as a sample and the best equipment available There will always be minor differences to any gen you compare it to - but then if you compare gens of the same model you'll see minor differences between them. It's just about satisfying yourself and if that means a Gen CG for $600 then go for it!! Cheers FGD
  3. Looks very special ....need to keep checking back for more photos Cheers FGD
  4. That is one of the finest ever D - a great pick up so congrats to both members!! Hopefully more accurate hands are only a few weeks away and I'm dying to see how Marcus' new crown looks on these bad boys. They look a little thicker and possibly more satisfying for Pre-Vendome models especially! Cheers FGD
  5. Nailed !!! Looks excellent - one of my favourite watches and I love seeing them come together like this Enjoy FGD

  9. Ok thanks everyone - this seems to be a winner Give me 8-10 weeks to get this together andI'll be in touch - plnning on making plenty of these and bring the price down as much as possible. Cheers FGD

  13. Sweet indeed D and some awesome straps !! Enjoy FGD @ Babola I owe you a reply
  14. +1 without doubt ,and this choice of pic raised a chuckle! FGD
  15. Love crow on PAM's with a passion - nuff said Superb looking watch as well , they look nice parts and dial is very nice Cheers FGD
  16. Thanks to everyone for your tips and suggestions Rob thinks he may have a solution from an old pocket watch, and he also checked the pallet stones from a 6497 balance and these wont work. I've contacted Paulo and he's reaching out to his contacts for a full pallet assembly so I'm hoping the solution is only a matter of time Cheers FGD
  17. R-if this is true then you have just made my day I'll drop Rob a note Cheers Simon
  18. Superb Mir - two must haves in any collection and beautifully executed That EL 001B dial stands out head and shoulders from the rest for me - probably worth it's weight in gold!! Love the strap combos as well Cheers FGD
  19. Hey Rolli - nice to see this amzing piece again as I have been thinking about it a bit recently and studying the original dial in particular It's very unusual ,like an 001B , but with gilt dial text and a bronze ring around the circumference Looking at the depth the hands extend across the numerals, it looks the same as normal dials , so makes me think the diameter of this dial including the bronze edge that remains on show, is larger than the regular 34.5mm. To achieve this effect, the interior of the case must be machined to a greater diamater than standard cases....so another interesing challenge to consider Images of Gen Dial Your PVD and plexi are amazing though looking at the gen images Great work as always FGD
  20. Hell yeah .....bring it on Pete!! FGD
  21. Thanks very much R- I'll check out Jules Borel for sure. This was the movement I purchased - 310189756995 - not the cheapest but it all looked right for a trouble free transaction and transplant I've mailed the seller as well to cover all bases but the purchase was a while away and he's not obliged to offer 12 month guarantees! Cheers Simon
  22. Picked up a nice looking and running 616 and sent to Zig .....oh dear The Z-Meister has serviced , sourced the new balance staff but the damaged pallet assembly remains hospitalised. I've done a quick check on Cousins without joy so thought where better to ask for suggestion than the Oracle that is the RWG collective! Any suggestions welcome - I do have a couple of Moljna clone types so please make my day and tell me they are interchangeable !! Cheers FGD
  23. I'm sure the gen is powered by an ETA 7754 based GMT movement and the sub dial spacing may differ from A7750 - as with the 7753 version ? I'm sure Rolli created an ETA 7754 powered GMT rep without a gen dial so I could be wrong Nice watch by the way Enjoy FGD
  24. Thanks all A clear picture if forming now: - Thicker lume fill , thinner sides on H&M - Longer lume extending into the tip more on H&M - Wider (3.0mm) diameter on the hour hand where it connects with the hour wheel. - On the small seconds hand - thinner sides , larger lume area , smaller tail dot than std rep hands I know what I'm doing this weekend! Cheers FGD
  25. Thanks W0lf ...SAA is on my list of respected customers , keeping it in the family is always good Initial enquiries sound good - pricing is not unreasonable either as I'd expect to offer a lumed hand set for less than $50 shipped ....but lets wait and see Cheers Simon
