  1. For me this new version is not what I was expecting. The case, movement and serial numbers are gone. And the image of the Vespucci is inverted in the engraving (instead of being polished).
  2. I had these 2, hope they help. Cheers!
  3. Is better if not even gens. Gaskets tend to expand with heat, letting water into the watch. Cheers!
  4. I'd say the bling is gen: the case lugs are more rounded at the tips than the rep (see profile pic), gold color is more consistent, tachy word is right and more accentuated than the rep, even the breitling logo on the dial is sharper, taller and well finished as the rest of the watch. But I'm always wrong. Cheers!
  5. @sssurfer: This is the first time I've read a convincing argument about the AR on PAMS being tinted in some way. I guess what you say is right: it's better to have that purplelish tint just by itself than all those reflections. @Chieftang: In what way is the result different of single AR and double AR on a Fiddy crystal now that you have experience with both? Anyways, if you could make my DSN Fiddy look far better than it is, be sure you'll receive a PM in the near future. Cheers!
  6. I know they are pics with special light and angle conditions. But still not the same look of a gen dome crystal. How does Panerai work or do to make the AR virtually invisible on those domes? I guess is the same debate as to lumejobs with mixtures of C1 and C3 or just pure C3. Chief, do you think you can tweak something so we can achieve this result? Cheers!
  7. I have a DSN 82 that I took to the pool and failed. It turned out to be that the caseback wasn't entirely tight. Once closed thightly, my watchsmith test it for the 3 ATM advertised, and passed with flying colors. I suggest not to wear reps under water, unless you fully understand the possible consecuences. Cheers!
  8. And does your runs give that no-color look to Fiddys Chief? Like sweatdog said, it better off with no AR than that blue non-vintage look. I would love to have mine with the right AR. Thanks to everyone for their thoughts. Cheers!
  9. For the first time I stumble on a this pic of a gen Fiddy showing blue AR tint on the crystal. What do you think? Cheers! Turbo
  10. First: Nice Cousteau Lani. Indeed your collections seem to go far beyond collecting, it's the journey that's more interesting. Second: After that lumejob and servicing, most would be more than satisfied with the results. But your guess about the AR is right. I've been meaning to remake the AR on mine... guess it's part of the journey too. Cheers! TURBO
  11. Perhaps you are right Mickey. I mentioned because in one of the pics you can observe the AR looks like stained. I have a couple of gens and this stained situation doesn't show up, hence "suppposedly" top quality AR. A few members have had this problem in the past with CDs and SFSOs. But this is just my opinion. Either way, the watch is an amazing piece. Cheers!
  12. Excellent pictures and watch Tazz. If I were you I would invest a bit more in a custom AR job. Cheers!
  13. Well Surfer, on one hand, I think there is quite an improvement on the ARed crystal versus the none. It lets a clearer view of the dial without most of the reflections seen on the non. But in the other hand, it still gives a hue of color to the crystal that bothers me. I can't stand that blue tint on my DSN Fiddy and at a time I considered the AR run, but since there is no colorless AR offered, I have resisted. For me the purity of the watch is on how clearly you can perceive the dial with out any distractions from color or other. Anyways cheers on that 203!
  14. Hyster: It's a wonderfull piece, it belongs in my top 3. Enjoy it! Iceberg: I have a 6.5" wrist and just love the damn thing. Tip: give it a try, and if it doesn't work you can easily trade it or sell it back. Cheers!
  15. Well Lani, another great catch. It does look great! Here's a pic of a gen caseback I had a while ago, just to make a reference: I know it's not for the same model, but to me your caseback is quite well. Cheers!
  16. Ahh the amazing safari does not let me sleep! Cheers on your couple!
  17. I will second TK's request for help on this issue. Mine has the slighlty misaligned inner bezel and I would die to fix that. Cheers!
  18. I'd love to have that box, although not at that price... specially without the certificate... I don't care much about the COSC. Would you take it Victoria?
  19. I'd go for a good quality single AR. Cheers!
