  1. What's your take on this?: Let's DIVE!
  2. You're absolutly right Slai. That little peek of metal is just something to adore during the day. Definetly the classic look of a Fiddy, or better yet, a real vintage PAM from the 30's it's an absolutly work to appreciate. Cheers mate on you appreciation!
  3. Great looking watch and an incredible work on the strap. Love it! Cheers!
  4. I'm sorry for your loss. Indeed that is an amazing watch (one of the few PAM autos I like). I hope that you could find a way to replace the movement. Cheers!
  5. I've done my share of comparisons and found the closest to the Vendome logo is Helvetica Neue. And did the comparo between gen 201/A and Copperplate made, and they definetly don't match. Must be a variation.
  6. Here's a working link for the crowns on da bay: http://search.ebay.com/ws/search/SaleSearch?sofocus=bs&satitle=panerai+crown&sacat=-1%26catref%3DC5&fbd=1&_trksid=m37&from=R6&nojspr=y&pfid=0&fswc=1&few=&saprclo=&saprchi=&fss=0&saslop=1&sasl=&fls=4%26floc%3D1&sargn=-1%26saslc%3D2&salic=1&saatc=1&sadis=200&fpos=&fsct=&sacur=0&sacqyop=ge&sacqy=&sabfmts=0&saobfmts=exsif&ftrt=1&ftrv=1&sabdlo=&sabdhi=&saaff=afdefault&afcj=&afmp=&fsop=1%26fsoo%3D1&fcl=3&frpp=50 This guy has all 3 versions: SS, Ti and PVD. It be great if someone (like as above mentioned: Kruzer) could do a comparo of this crown vs. Palp. I see the price is quite above Palps (and I even think Palps are expensive) with the difference on this crowns I'm able to see from the pics is that they come with the seals and perhaps are springlike as DSN's. Please fellow members, share your knowledge on this matter. Cheers!
  7. They have a quite extensive info catalog on every PAM made since 1997. Most of them have the official pictures.
  8. Here's the original source link for the article: http://www.horomundi.com/articles_details.php?id=34
  9. My guess of what he's asking is that he has the crystal removed and wants to locate in place again. So, once the crystal is removed, it has some kind of o-ring that makes it somewhat waterproof. From similar procedures I have made, this o-ring might get damaged. Therefore, I'm guessing hes' asking what size of o-ring is needed and where can it be purchased... Am I right?
  10. I still like the watch Kai. Enjoy it, it's a great piece. And by the way, Riva's are THE lancha! Cheers!
  11. Very nice! Just a question: does the gen strap is very different to the rep strap? I've been wondering if it is worth it... Cheers for a great watch!
  12. I think you are right on the money Jakub. We'll just have to see it installed in a PAM so we can appreciate the end result and we'll be out sending some cystals! Cheers!
  13. OK Captain, Here's my humble advice. The current 192 has too many flaws, from the dial to the movement. Not to mention that the gen case is made out Tantalum and not SS (most current case) nor Ti (old case). Old case 192 had the somewhat more accurate Seagull/Lemania/whatever movement. Current offers have Asian 7750. So I rather take a good 253 with real sapphire with good AR and if the money is no object, go for the swiss 7750. I own a Ti case 192, and as of this moment is going through some serious modding. If you want more gen pics of the 192, let me know. Cheers!
  14. Viva nostro Azzuro! Thank you Max.
  15. I just had a PAM 190 and took a few pictures trying to get the AR coating to show up, but it was barely visible. If it did show, it had a purple tint to it and showed mostly on the edge of the crystal. I only have my phone camera with me, so excuse the lame pics. I hope they help. Cheers!
  16. I'm amazed at your comment Anton! If by any chance you could by another one and send it to me, I'd be more than willing! Cheers!
  17. Seems IT IS easy! I remember someone telling that for the crystal to come out was difficult because the chapter ring was attached in a weird way or something. Well, let's hope for the best! I'll post some pics of mine with new crown if everything goes as planned. Cheers!
  18. I forgot to ask!: Where did you guys sourced the replacement hands? Cheers!
  19. Nice crown Doc. Just today I took mine to the watchsmith for a Palp crown swap. Hope it's as good as yours. On another note, was it too difficult to take out the crystal? I want to send mine too for some AR and then for a complete relume. Tell me your thoughts! Cheers!
  20. Here's the one I mentioned earlier: http://cgi.ebay.com/Panerai-PAM-192-Luminor-Tantalium-Beige-DEPLOYANT-strap_W0QQitemZ110176251858QQihZ001QQcategoryZ31387QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZ iewItem Cheers!
  21. Hey Andrew! I have the same watch. However the bracelet, in terms of accuracy to the gen, is completely wrong. The gen's case is made out of Tantalium, a very different material of this beloved watch of yours (it's titanium). Since rep makers no longer make the 192 with Ti case, that is why it's so sought after. That's why the only way to see a gen 192 is either on leather or rubber straps. Regarding the deployant: gen has a TANTALIUM deployant, and in rep world only a STAINLESS STEEL version is available. So you can give it a try and get one, so you can couple it with a gen Tantalium strap (I just saw one offered in da bay a few weeks back). Best of luck on your watch and let me know any upgrades you might consider. Cheers!
  22. @kruzer LOL about the spatula hand. You are SOOO right! That's the main reason I have not bought any PAM GMT. @V Those blue dials are.... SIMPLY GREAT! I'd love to have the complete Bottega collection. Cheers!
  23. Just to clear some things out: I've dealt with Kye_lin before, and I must say he is a good guy. I've bought from him with no trouble of any kind. I can't speak for his offer right now, since I have not seen them. Hey, I'm even thinking about purchasing one. But as he said, we're all here to help out each other, not to do harm. So let's all just have a break, and leave the issue in the past. Let's move on. In his words: "forget the whole thing" Cheers to all!
  24. I have bought from DSN 3 watches until now. 2 of them had issues, but they were replaced and had no trouble comunicating with him. You have to take in account, like V said, that he is one man, and probably his english is not the best. So at the end, his mails are very short and concise. In spanish we have a phrase for that: AL GRANO! So, if at the end of the day, you want the best possible feel of your watch, take a DSN. It might be a while, and a hit and miss procedure. But I guarantee the satisfaction. Cheers!
