  1. +1 I wouldn't use them again for any reason
  2. Absolutely fantastic, I'm really glad you're pleased with it I have a Casio diver's watch knocking about somewhere, which, should the worst come to the worst and everything else fails, would be pressed back into service As you say, no soul, no pedigree, but they do what they're meant to do, and just keep on ticking (once a second )
  3. Absolutely fantastic Awesome touch of the Beretta as well Are you going to keep it on the fabric strap, or mount it on a sterile bracelet?
  4. Nice work, bro, it's looking really good Something to bear in mind, is that a watch of that age would not be box-fresh pristine, so a few scuffs and dings is good, as it keeps the character of the watch
  5. I've been a fan of the Benrus watches since I first saw them on here
  6. That's the name for the newsletter right there
  7. Not a problem Even though I'm still restoring my PC software, all the files used are in my archive on a 1TB external harddrive, so not a problem at all for me to re-use that theme for a banner I'll crack on with it as soon as I get my PC 100% operational again
  8. I'm more than happy to do any graphics work needed, and would love to contribute some writing as well. Of course, I don't have much to review beyond budget reps, but I like interviewing people, so I'm happy to do whatever' needed
  9. The only answer, is absolutely You don't even have to ask bro Whatever you need, I'll be happy to do
  10. If it fits, I'd say go for it You can always get straps of different lengths
  11. That watch is just crazy big Of course, it was designed to be worn over a wetsuit, not daily wear
  12. Probably too big for many, but, you might get on okay with it... Try putting something of similar size on the top of your wrist... As long as it remains 'on your wrist', rather than projecting over the sides of your wrist, it's not too big
  13. I think any dealer is as good as another when it comes to Panerai. As you say, their appeal is their simplicity. Another appeal, is that most people don't even know of the brand, so they don't even question if it is real or not. As long as it doesn't say "Rolex" on the dial, it can't be a fake (as the general public think)
  14. It depends by how you define 'pass as gen'. If you mean people here might want people to appreciate that they are wearing a nice watch, yes, it's always nice to receive compliments, but mostly, folks just don't notice, or if they do, rarely pass comment If you mean people would actually say "Yeah, it's real..." if asked if it's real or fake, and it's really a rep, then you won't find many like that on this forum PS For your size wrist, I would suggest a Panerai 127 or 217
  15. Very true, of course, it all just adds to the character of the watch
  16. Welcome indeed, you're sure to find the advice and support you need here
  17. PS You might want to put some electrician's tape over the case so as not to damage the gold
  18. A 4-sided nail buffer and a tube of toothpaste are what you need Work over the crystal in circular motions with the coarsest surface of the buffer until you have pretty much erased the scratches, then use the progressively finer surfaces, getting it as clear as possible each time, and finally, use a smear of toothpaste and a bit of cloth (t-shirt etc) and you should be able to restore it to a near-new finish
  19. Interesting, maybe a difference in the lume or manufacture?
  20. Very tasty Is it a trick of the light, but the lume of the second hands appears to be the same as the markers, where the lume on the main hands seems whiter...
  21. Ahh Damn, there was me thinking there was some kind of anti-Cartel behavior going on
  22. Really? So it's not just RWI who've shown them the door? Wow. Times sure are changing...
