  1. I have a deployant which is virtually identical to that one (slightly different shape to the safety clasp/thumb groove) and the amount a adjustability is as in the one you've pictured. [Edit to add] Here's a quick and dirty to show the adjustment system...
  2. Depends what you're looking for in a watch... Here're a few suggestions for you Submariner GMT Master II Pro-Hunter Sub B&R Radiomir HBB Luna Rossa
  3. It's funny, it always looks so nice in photos, it just didn't 'speak to me' when I tried one on, I guess some watches are just like that. My 16610 EuroFakes Submariner, although a nice watch, didn't hold my interest enough to keep it as a permanent watch, which was why I started looking for a replacement Omega, yet my Tudor Submariner, even though it's an incomplete project, and visually very similar to the 16610, I really enjoy wearing it, so it can obviously only be some small detail which makes the difference, yet so small, I can't put my finger on it Maybe I'll give the white Exp II another try at some point If I like it, I get a new watch in the collection, and if I don't like it, I'm sure someone would take it off my hands for me
  4. That really is a fine watch, and personally, I'd keep it just as it is The watch didn't do anything for me when I tried one on in an AD, but it always photographs so well
  5. Welcome back, amigo, a photo travelog would be awesome
  6. No problem I first noticed the phenomenon when I tried on a 45mm Planet Ocean then a 2254.50, which, when worn immediately after the PO, looked tiny... About a year ago, I took off my 127, then put on my 45mm PO. The PO looked tiny... Going from a Sub to a DJ, the DJ looks tiny, and so on and so forth But, put a DJ on 'clean', or, if worn after a Sub, after a while, the eye adjusts and the watch no longer appears to be 'small', and is 'visually accepted' for being the size it is
  7. If you could live with a clone, I saw this and thought of you
  8. I think it's safe to say it's certainly done that Gone are the days of buying 'the Swiss version' to get better details in the watch itself
  9. Very nice work, I've sure your friend will love it
  10. Thanks for the feedback, guys Indeed, it was definitely quartz, as it had a slim digital display at the bottom of the dial. (Not easy to see in the photo posted, but the 5, 6 and 7 markers are in a straight line, rather than following the curve of the case. Might sound silly, but it was a watch I always liked the look of in the catalogue (but never bought) and thought it would still make a nice addition to my collection, being as it's still a diver's-style watch
  11. If you're going to an AD, I would suggest not wearing a watch for an hour or so before your visit. Not to avoid the issue of taking a rep to an AD, but to let your eye 'adjust', so you view the DJ with 'a clean visual palette', rather than a mental comparison to a larger watch. Best of luck with your hunt
  12. It wasn't so much an issue with your photography, just that I knew that that SA Milsub was PVDd, and I couldn't quite tell from the photos Many thanks about the sticker, that would be awesome
  13. Absolutely fantastic to see, bro Thanks for confirming a suspicion I have had for a long time
  14. I can't tell from the photos, but is that PVDd? Awesome dial work The SA Milsub is one of my potential planned projects, so I'll keep an eye out for the stickers
  15. I think the thing that makes me consider that, is I can think of better aspects of the dial to highlight via AR than the datewheel I think it makes more sense for it to be considered as an anti-counterfeiting measure, simply because many might not notice the AR beneath the cyclops (or be able to easily replicate it if they could)
  16. I'm wondering if it might be as a subtle anti-counterfeiting device, in so much as it's easy enough to get a whole crystal ARd, but that small section, might be harder to achieve... It definitely makes for some interesting pics, but personally, I'm not too keen, as I think it only highlights that the rest of the crystal isn't ARd, so making the remainder of the dial appear slightly 'obscured' in comparison... That said, if Rolex have started to delve into AR technology, perhaps they'll start putting it out as a fully crystal application on other watches
  17. I have to admit, I can't see the logic in only putting AR beneath the cyclops, but not under the entire crystal...
  18. To be honest, it wasn't ever my number one priority either I remember a catalogue shop in the UK used to sell watches which were pretty much spot on, but that was back when the show was on, so not a currently stocked item...
  19. I'm not sure if this watch is even available anymore, but I wondered if anyone might know what it was? As far as I can remember, it had an analogue and digital display and was black resin (although gun metal and gun metal and gold variants were also available) I doubt it was a particularly expensive watch, but, if anyone might be able to identify it, it would be awesome
