The 24 is gen for sure. I need some better pics of the 27. Specifically the back near the lugs. Gen straps won't have any glue exposed. It is hard to tell, but it looks like I can see some glue. Also the impressions on the gen will look more shallow than the rep. The impressions on the 27 look a little deep.
Great question, but no. The dials are completely different. The seconds are at 3 on the 217 dial. However, if you can source a 217 dial you are in business, assuming you don't care about having a non-destro movement.
I'm a big fan of the speed master reduced. It's a great bargain! I've considered it a few times. My first gen purchase will likely be an A series Panerai.
The 7753 is a nice movement and like Projectologist says, the gens wobble too. Rest at ease sir. Maybe you will grow to appreciate it. I have a gen 2892 in my 27A and I can say I actually miss the wobble.
I hope so! I paid a long time ago:) There have been no posts and no responses to my PM for over a month. SD has gone deep;) hopefully he comes up soon for air with some updates
I can't get a good picture of my results right now, but the grit is so fine that it doesn't produce the characteristic lines form normal brushing. The other option is to get a bead blasting kit from amazon.com
Get on homageforum, there are a bunch of Swedish modders and watch smiths on there!
I love Sweden by the way! My favorite phrase when I visit: "en ol, tack" sometimes "tva ol"
