Bring up this thread from the dead.... Anyone have any additional insight on what size those friction rivets are? I picked up a gen clasp but its missing the half-link. I wanted to use my TC v3 half link and attach it to the gen clasp. Insight appreciated!

Hey guys- as a few have mentioned already I'm new to the forums, just over a month now, and have been overwhelmed by the great people who frequent these boards. Dude tell me about it. I have in my sights a gen YM dial, and have started to look for gen movements for my TCs.... Lol I only want superfrankens, anything less doesn't fit the bill. Well except my SOSF v2. That is one rep I may end up buying gen. It's priced right at gen level and is a personal favorite. I'll be honest wiseguy, your current vintage Rolex is tempting....

I can compare it to the 2nd YM in that group. No rehaut engraving but otherwise the thin font and maybe even the hr markers. Hmm.. First time I think I've seen that version of the YM.

When I sold my meth injected BMW 335i I told myself that I was done with modding cars... I had no idea I'd be as addicted to modding watches.... Haha

Here is another shot side-by-side... Yeah the YMs grew on me. At first I didn't care for them and now I really enjoy the style. Its classy and sporty. I have a gen AR crystal in the mail and it already has a gen crown.

I bought a BK YM, new from BK himself, about a month or so ago. I had a gen crown and aftermarket tube installed. So as I spend more time on the forums absorbing the vast wealth of knowledge that exists on the boards I have come up with one question... I understand there were various versions of the YM dial (font style, color of the YM word, color of he second hand, "swiss Made", etc...) But I was under the impression that all YM models had the Maxi Dial hour markers and hands, correct? See below my YM Dial in comparison with my TC Maxi Dial. I only noticed this when I recieved my new TC LV purchase (Thanks Wiseguy). I originally had plans to have the YM superlumed as its factory lume is weak at best. But now I am wondering if I need to consider either sourcing another dial; more gen like OR seeing if its possible to take the hour markers from the TC Maxi dial and placing them on my dial. The TC factory lume is great and from what I can see pretty color accurate to the gen YM. Thoughts, opinions? Thanks!

Oh yeah... Love is an understatement. I have a gen clasp on order to swap out the TC v3.

I joined the forums and rep scene just a month ago... The start of my humble collection has just begun. Here are a few pictures of my current collection. SOSF v2 BK YachtMaster (What is everyone opnion on this watch? In my newb eyes, the dial markers don't seem to be Maxi dial per gen. Correct me if I am wrong.) TC LV Sub I also have parts to build another TC LV with a gen LN insert, crystal, crown, tube, and clasp. Thanks for looking all. I plan on taking much better pictures as soon as I have a few more worthy reps on my posession. Its been a great first month so far! Ha

Gen insert and gen crystal go a long ways. I've personally looked into replacing my tc v3 clasp with a gen one.

In my short time on the forums I have to say you have some of the best builds in your collection.

That one percent can vary greatly from model to model. Sometimes the watch is built nearly 1:1 but the dial color could be slightly off. Date wheel overlay my be slightly off centered. Search the forums and there's plenty of members reviews highlighting the 1 percent. Also remember flaws are inevitable. So what I will consider a minor flaw will be a huge deal to someone else. For example one of my favorite reps is the superocean steel fish v2. I currently have the black dial (most accurate to the gen IMO) but I am also very partial to the white dial. I consider that a 99 percent accurate rep. Some will disagree because the white dial should be "creamier" so they'll rate that lower. Hope that helps some.

Wow... Simply stunning photographs. I currently own the Best H Factory SOSF (Black dial) and I catch myself staring at it. One of my next purchases will be a white dial skyland. I just need to try one on for size at an AD first.

The LV has grown on me... Now the hunt begins to find/build a Franken. You have created a beautiful timepiece.
