  1. Dont do it! We do NOT know 100% that WM9 is a trusted supplier for rep watches. His long delays in delivering his goods and the various ? marks concerning exactly where he gets his watches should be a BIG DONT GO THERE sign to everyone. My suggestion is to just WAIT. I have a strong feeling that a new updated ULTIMATE sub will be available from our known trusted dealers. If you cant wait go ahead and buy a MBW (bad bracelet, not so good dial) or an ULTIMATE Sub from andrew (conical rehaut). DO NOT buy from WM9 at this point in time.
  2. I have yet to buy an Ultimate SOSF. I am torn between buying this or the Porsche first.....hmmm decisions decisions!
  3. I think you need to pop off the bezel and make a few more bends in the spring wire that provides the tension between the bezel and the rest of the case. There is also a small ratchet that you can pop out and file down to more of an angle......more pointy.... so the clicks are more defined. This should tighten everything up. This works on the Subs I have bought. If this is the NOOB GMT I would get the OK from someone who has worked on these before first. I have heard that its almost impoosible to take the bezel off a NOOB Sub...maybe the same issue with the GMT? I dont know.
  4. Just recieved my Cartier Roadster this morning from Joshua. Just 6 days from China to NJ and what a watch this rep is! I wish I could post some pictures but unfortunatly I cannot. Suffice to say that the watch is so well done. Fit and Finish are just about perfect with the case and bracelet polished to a bright sheen with just the center part of the links having a brushed effect. The watch is advertised as having a white dial but in reality its a silver/white along with Roman numerals. I have tried on a gen Roadster many times and I can you this...no one is going to call out this watch as a rep.. no way. I like many of you complain about reps escalating price but when I look at this watch.....swiss eta, perfect fit and finish, no QC issues, polished to a mirror finish and loooking for all intents and purposes like a $5000 Cartier.........all for around 300 bucks! Now I need to see what my next rep will be........what about the new porsche on rubber strap that just came out a few weeks ago? Looks like another spectacular rep. What do you think?
  5. looks great except for those end lugs. Every DJ I have seen has gaps and overall poor fitting in this area.
  6. MBW will set you back around 375 bucks. It has a eta movement, great case, deep rehaut and overall best fit and finish. The BK mariners has a asian movement, shallow rehaut but great band, dial, CG, pearl, insert and crown. I think the BK mariner fully modded will set you back just as much. Overall I would go with the BK mariner.MBW will set you back around 375 bucks. It has a eta movement, great case, deep rehaut and overall best fit and finish. 7. How about a Tiger woods Tag golf watch? They have a rubber strap and a sturdy mechanism so the watch will not wander on the wrist (always anoying when running). Its also not costly so if you do bang it up a bit no worries.
  8. I have been tempted many times to buy a new TT sub. They do look very nice. However they are not good enough to spend the kind of money asked. The end links are always a dead give a way and the plating, at least on my end links, wear quickly. 9. I am only an amateur, but I can easily tell the difference between an ETA & a vintage Rolex movement by listening to and/or winding them. And the difference in the fit & finish between the gen and MBW (even when modded with gen parts) is palpable when handling these watches. I can understand a watchmaker being surprised at how good your reps are, but if, after handling them, they thought your MBWs were gens, I would seriously question their experience level. I would agree with modern rolex watches. In terms of fit and finish the vintage MBW 1680 or 1665 are very comparable. These are beautiful well built timepieces! The beat certainly is different however what takes everyone aback is just how nice these reps LOOK. I think everyone on here is spoiled because we all have access to the very best reps in the world. Most do not know this level of quality exists. Most when they see the vintage MBW assume they are real because they look so good. Take a stroll down Canal street in NY and see what incredibly LOUSEY quality the average person thinks of when they think of fake rolex. I was just there during the Christmas holidays ( I live about 45 min from Manhatten). The best Rolex sub I could find..and I looked everywhere asking for the very best.....was C R A P.
  10. TTK knows his stuff. One last point...there is no need..none to put a Rolex movement inside a rep case. The ETA that it comes with will last many decades and will be much easier and cheaper to service if it needs work. The modern ETA movement is superior to the 30 year old Rolex movement also. No one will ever ask you to open the back of your watch!!!!!!! The difference in sweep would only be noticed by someone who knows his stuff and you would need to remove your watch and place it in his hands for it to be noticable. I took my MBW GWSD to a local watchmaker to have a CLARKE crystal installed and the case waterproofed. The watch had to be taken into NYC for this work to be completed. The local guy came back and told me everyone thought it was real. They never knew such great reps were available. When I told him what I paid he could not believe it. All he could do is shake his head and say UN believable!. He had the same comments concerning my MBW 1680 as well as my GMT Master with the 2892 movement. (although he did notice the date mag being off with my GMT)
  11. yes its a total scam. Look on these boards for the good dealers. They will not scam you. Here is one of the best. He will have EVERYTHING aside from the MBW rolex. http://www.pc-80108.com/
  12. Love the look BUT the reason i would not buy it is the gold plated case back. I can see that wearing big time in short order.
  13. Here is what you do......contact TTK and buy a MBW 1680. These vintage MBW are OUTSTANDING in terms of fit and finish as well as overall quality. A real piece of wrist art without any mods IMO. Actually I know you said you are interested in a SUB but I can tell you that a Great White SD is even more awesome on the wrist. SD are not close to being as common as Subs so much less chance of being called out. The SD is a thicker/more substantial watch. Once you get the watch contact one of the modders on these boards and have the following completed; CLARKE crystal (close to gen and much cheaper) CG sanded down Gen insert and pearl Lugs holes drilled Waterproofing I know that the dials on MBW are nit picked for differences vs. the gen but again IMO no one is going to notice. Its that .000001% of the population that are Rolex junkies that could tell the difference and they would need to have the watch off your wrist and examine it closely to be able to call it out. The dials are FINE. Same goes for the bracelet. The other thing that I would recommend is not getting the watch all beat up to "age" it so it looks like a 30 year old watch. Its going to get its share of scuffs and scratches from you just wearing the watch. Its a BEAUTIFUL watch...dont smash the crap out of it...it then looks like an old beat up watch. What you want eventually is a watch that looks like it was worn...not beat to hell and back. I can tell you that if I have my 1680 and 1665 30 years from now they are going to look very similar to how they look today. I think that would be the same for anyone who collects and takes care of watches. You tend to keep very nice those things you collect and cherish. I would think with all the above your spending less than 1000 bucks..watch, mods and all. Just do it and you wont be disappointed.
  14. I want to buy one of the new cartier Roadster reps that have recently (last 6 or so months I think) come out. The watch is just beautiful and it looks very very close to gen in appearance. The question is....which dial should I go for? Please tell me what you think....I am leaning towards the white one but really cannot choose. HELP! http://www.pc-80108.com/carr10011-roadster...242-p-3172.html http://www.pc-80108.com/carr10013-roadster...242-p-3174.html http://www.pc-80108.com/carr10014-roadster...242-p-3191.html
  15. ByTor...where do I buy THAT exact watch?....hopefully with an eta movement.
  16. The TW best sub looks similar. SWISS MADE is skewed to the left just like that sub. My TT though has a much better bracelet with hollow center links. After the holidays I will try to upload some pictures.
  17. I have been collecting reps..mostly Rolex reps...... the past several years. Unfortunatly for me the day before I found this site I bought a TT Sub from one of the known scam rep sites. Early on I had a link checked and indeed it was solid gold just like advertised. Anyway.....the band is starting to show wear on the end links.....big ding as well as gold plating wear. (end links are plated) Just tonight I decided to remove the bracelet and replace with a black strap. Inbetwen the lugs at 6 oclock was stamped..."stainless steel F646793" and at 12 oclock "Orig Rolex Desing". (yes DESING) I can tell you the following about the watch in terms of quality.... Pros Very deep and completely cylindrical rehaut Perfect small gold crown 120 smooth as silk uni directional bezel date mag is perfect, centered and NOT too far to the right date font is very good with light gold background color date changes exactly at 12 midnight. Date centered in date window hands and dial markers very good Fit and finish of case is very good. Highly polished case sides, brushed case lug surface...everything is in very good shape. Its waterproof Bracelet fit and finish the best I have seen. Fits completely perfect inbetween the lugs. Beautifully brushed surface with no sharp corners Keeps great time Nice crystal height Insert is very nice...close to gen in my opinion Cons Dial printing appears to be on the light side M's do not line up SWISS MADE skewed slightly to the left ala TW best Pearl is a flat top CG need trimming Bracelet end lugs are plated gold Deployment clasp wont stay closed Before I took off the bracelet I thought this was a MBW but with the above inscription inbetween the lugs I am now thinking its a TW best. However I never heard of the mispelling of DESIGN with a TW best. Anyone come across anything like this before? Sorry I cannot attach pictures.
  18. The bracelet on my black dial TT MBW Sub is starting to show wear. I am thinking of replacing it with a very high end croc strap but have no idea what style/thickness etc would look the best. Can someone pease advise? I am thinking maybe the thickest black strap available with deployment and possibly with white stitching? Thoughts from anyone would be appreciated!
  19. I have bought both watches. The begin was the best in overall fit and finish. The lone exception was a small dark mark on the 6 oclock marker on the dial. Josh sent me a replacement dial immediatly but the problem is that it would cost me too much to replace it so I left as is. I bought it for a coworker so I just hoped he would not notice. What I can tell you though was the band, how the band fit against the case and between the lugs, dial, CG, insert, pearl all were spot on. I bought a Nymph from Narika and it had the following issues......date changed 20 min before 12, date misalignment, band fit inbetween lugs and against the case poorly. Neil without hesitation asked me to wait on his next shippment and sent me another..this time in perfect shape. Both vendors did a good job and both watches have slight plus's and minus's. The Nymph gets great press so this is the direction that I would lean.
  20. The movement I am sure is an asian copy. I have had good luck with asian copies of simple movements found in the rolex etc reps. I would not buy an Asian rep that is that complicated since if it stops working who are you going to find that will be able to fix it? If you want a good quality rep stick with the simplier asian movements or buy swiss ETA. Your just asking for problems with the watch in question.
  21. Where can I buy a very good quality insert for my TW best GMT master? I have heard that the typical sellers of sub inserts have poor GMT inserts. Who has the best GMT inserts? Thanks for your help!!!!
  22. No I dont have that ability right now. Its exactly the same from what I can see comparing mine against that first picture. Of course my MBW letters/nembers is filled in with some sort of black paint on the case back. As a side note to everyone if you are in the market for a Rolex rep go for the MBW 1680 or 1655. They are so well made and beautiful examples of wrist art. I perfer the GWSD. The only mod I made was installing a Clark superdome crystal and waterproofing. Stunning watch that only someone who really knows Rolex could distinguish from a gen.
  23. I bought my GW from TTK about 6 months ago and it has a caseback exactly the same as the first picture above. Its a spot on rep thats for sure.
  24. The band on the gen Sub also has UNpolished bracelet sides. In general all the Subs I have the bracelets are very well done. Gen sub bracelets are also flimsy when you hold the watch. date mag could be off center....this can happen with reps. Bezel and its feel when turned can vary with rep subs. Some are very good while others can be so so. No way the date change is correct if you have an eta Sub. ALL the swiss eta subs I have change on the dot at 12 midnight. I have had asian powered subs that changed date at odd hours. Your comments make me think they sent you a asian powered Sub. Contact Andrew and ask for a replacement. You paid good money for that watch and it should not have these type issues.
  25. It contains the old asian 7750 which had (has) a host of problems. Better to go with the manual version with the dial at 6 frozen.
