  1. I have the V3 and just sold my V2. The V3 looks and feels like the better watch. Its a very well finished rep sub and the best I have ever owned IMO.
  2. What is the size of the crown on that MBW? Its 8 mm?
  3. I agree with Bytor....the SSD just looks wrong from the front. Rehaut should be straight not wokky and the crystal bevel hides the rehaut thickness a bit.
  4. With all the latest Subs that have come out the last few years such as MW9 etc I was wondering what is the current value of fully modded old school reps? As examples I have a fully modded (by BK) TW best sub, swiss eta, noob dial, recessed insert, WM pearl and a MBW LV again fully modded by BK. Both watches I bought originally around 5-6 years ago. What are they worth?
  5. One side is stamped "6567" which is also stamped on the inside of the case back. The other side is stamped "324662". Back of end links both are stamped "19".
  6. Cut and paste the link and you will get to it. When you hit it directly it does not work. I have taken off the bracelet and cleaned it with soap and water...sure was dirty! Another thing I notice is that the screw in crown will only screw in maybe 1.5 turns before it stops. Case is in great shape thats for sure. Dial and hands are lightly aged. The guy is telling me that the band is gen. For sure the inside of the fold over clasp (the two pieces that actually fold over) look gen since they are inscribed ROLEX etc nicely with a date of "1 62". I am not so sure about the rest of the bracelet however. Once agian I paid 1500 US which I think is a good price since I have not found another in as good of shape that cheap. What do you guys think? Keep or send back? All gen or mostly gen?
  7. I just recieved that 1957 Rolex Oyster Perpetual. I just love the look of this watch. Silver dial with slight aging (must be a refinish job from a while ago), 1030 movement telling great time so far, great condition with just slight scuffing here and there. Howvever can someone tell me how I can tell if the riveted bracelet on this watch is real or fake? The end links are both marked "19" which I assume means 19mm, the inside of the fold over clasp is imprinted "1 62". Any way of telling? The pictures I have seen of gens seem to show a different looking crown on the clasp than what is on my watch but its hard to tell. I paid $1500..did I get a good deal? http://www.goantiques.com/detail,rolex-oyster-perpetual,2121671.html
  8. Looks nice. The one question I have is why cant I see the tips of the springbars from the case lugs?
  9. I just bought a 1953 Rolex with a 1030 movement. I could not paste the direct link to the watch but please go HERE.... www.watchcompany.com And look for this watch..ROLEX OYSTER PERPETUAL OYSTER DEPLOYMENT white/silver dial with rivited bracelet. It says 1973 but that was a misprint. Why do those end links fit so sloppily? Can they be fixed? I paid less than 1500 USD. First what does everyone think of the watch? Im thinking its too nice to breakup to get the movement for a rep 6538! My plan is to now save up the next few months to get that Yuki case. Do you think I could install the dial and hands myself as well as installing everything into that Yuki case?
  10. The MBW Bond sub looks nothing like the Bond sub....horrible rep. IMO BUT I found a web site that says they work with ND trading. They will make a BOND sub for me using ND trading parts. This includes a serviced 1030 movement. The cost is 3200 USD. Is the ND trading case the same as Yuki? What do you guys think of the price?
  11. USE THE SEARCH FUNCTION! Any of the trusted dealers on this forum have what you want. I would think if you contact BK..again listed in the collectors area of this forum he can supply you with a great Sub. The best you can buy.
  12. Ugggg....I bid on that watch with the 1030 movement but was overbid at the last second. Good thing anyway since your comments make me think twice. Let me ask this one more time since maybe there is something I am missing.....is everyone positivly saying that there is no eta movement that will fit this Yuki 6538 case? What about a 2893 GMT movement or the eta movement that is used in ladies rep datejusts? Although it would be great to have a 6538 with an original movement if parts are that hard to come by Ill take an eta anyday. Forgive me for asking this again but it does not jive in my mind that there are many non rolex movements that fit other Rolex rep cases but nothing but a 50 year old 1030 will fit in the Yuki case? I mean if I bought the case set and then sent it to The Zigmeister he could not install something else besides the original movement?
  13. Im going to bid on a 1030 movement. It says that the movement works but the "winder is slipping". Are parts for 1030 movements available? What are the odds that I buy this and it cant be fixed? Can any watchmaker work on a Rolex movemet or do I need to send to Rolex themselves. Help!
  14. You were about right with that 3500 dollar number...a bit lower but not by much. I have asked for a better price so lets see what they come back with.
  15. I see that one website sells a completed 6538 with the Yuki case set and an installed 1030. I have asked for a price. Id rather go this route and have a completed watch in my hands...unless of course they are going to charge me an arm and a leg for it! I can see myself wearing this watch on a nato soon! Im pumped!
  16. You should know by now...only buy from trusted sellers. Who is watchoot and how can you be sure they will stand behind what they sell and how can you be sure exactly what you are getting? There are quite a few versions of this watch. I sugget that you buy from Trusty the latest version with an asian clone eta movement.
  17. Also is the pearl that comes on the insert with the Yuki case good? Do I need to replace ala a MBW?
  18. Yuki does not have the hands. I see that Classic watch parts does but they are aged. Is the dial from Yuki also aged? Do you know where I can buy Unaged hands?
  19. Ok sounds logical. So please walk me through this step wise....Ok I have the case set and Yuki dial...now all I need is the movement and hands correct? Its then just dial onto movement and then install hands on dial/movement. Then the whole thing is placed into the case and then....????
  20. I want to buy the Yuki case set big crown BOND sub. It comes with everything and he will also add a dial for an additional 100. Anyway...can someone guide me as to what movements and hands I would need for this case? Can I go with an ETA? I am ready to buy this set now but fear it will never be wearable since I dont want to spend big bucks for a gen Rolex movement. Please advise, Perry.
  21. I just heard back from Yuki. The price with dial is $850. I dont think thats bad at all. So all I then need are hands, movement, springbars and a Nato strap? How do I go about this in terms of movement and hands? (I can do the springbars and nato installation! LOL) This would be my ultimate 50th BD present if you guys can help me pull it off. Just how difficult will this be? Im ready to order the set today if I can get a clear way to make it all happen. Please advise.
  22. Ok so what is the solution? If I buy the case what exactly do I need in addition to make my Bond sub ready to wear? The easy parts are the nato and springbars but where do I buy a decent dial that wont cost be am arm and leg? Where do I buy the hands? Which movement would be the best that will fit the case without major mods. also what does that case set cost?
  23. I just looked at the Yuki web site. That big crown BOND case set looks AMAZING! It LOOKS as if it comes with everything except the movement, dial and hands. Does anyone have experience with this setup? What could I use for the movement, dial and hands? Typical ETA would fit? Im thinking that I would buy this and then fit everything else myself and install the NATO strap! what a nice 50th BD present that would be....for me! Any help that can be given would be appreciated!
  24. Several things I see that you could improve upon.......insert should sit recessed and not above the bezel lip. CG need serious trimming, end links need to fit flush against the case without gaps near the case lugs, and the crown is too big.
