  1. Seems like you have one of the bad ones. Email a TD for a replacement quote.
  2. Correct. The Tissot Powermatic 80 movements can be found in the T Sport Seastar 1000 models. If you are keen on this 21,000 low beat movement you will need to buy a used Tissot and canibalize it by extracting the movement and dropping into the AP diver. This cost of the movement will be between $275 and $350 from what I have seen in the used market. Post Christmas is a very good time to shop for these watches as folks unload their presents for cash not knowing us modifiers place keen value in their movements. Call it asymmetric information.
  3. I drive a replica Mercedes Benz SL 600. The shipping from China is a killer. You can't imagine what it costs to buy your own shipping container! I only drive it when I wear my gen IWC grand complication.
  4. Maybe $400 best case and likely less.
  5. I thought about this...then paused. I am glad I did based upon your review. Thanks for taking the time to write it up.
  6. I use link removal tool similar to this: http://www.gearbest.com/watch-accessaries/pp_47594.html?currency=USD&gclid=CKX-i_7N3sYCFRCqaQodHsAN4g Note, I am not endorsing this vendor, but merely showing you a picture of the tool.
  7. Yes, would like to see the side-by-side photos. I have yet to own one of these. The gen dealer is 3 blocks from my office and I have seen them. Quite understated.
  8. Interesting color palate, but the pricing is going to pose a problem in the retail channel.
  9. OK, Martijpn, that is SICK! Props...Props!
  10. I see Andrew at Trusty posted a new version for sale on July 10th. http://www.twgtwg.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=352&products_id=13682 Questions: What version is this? (He does not state the version or factory in the listing and the question always comes up in resale) Is this a fantasy version as it has the display caseback? I thought AP divers in steel only had solid casebacks. Did AP change the format? (His description is incorrect as well. He states closed caseback, but the picture shows an exhibition caseback. Please let me know your insight here. Is this is one to buy if I am seeking best in class?
  11. Great question, Altes. I'd like to know the key points to look for as well.
  12. For US located members, I strongly endorse Speedy G in West Chicago, Illinois. I have used him for both reps and gens.
  13. Andrew at Trusty is extremely professional. I have personally spent $1000's with him over the last two years. Never an issue that was not resolved quickly.
  14. Seems like the black dial models are harder to find. White and blue are much easier to source. Does anyone have one? If so, please post your thoughts on ownership. Thanks!
  15. Is that Blue or Black? The photo looks Black. Anyone have an idea of what TD will have the new J12 version? I'd be interested in a pre-production sample if one is for sale now.
  16. Any update on this. I am interested in purchasing a hybrid like this or waking for the JF.
  17. I have the champagne dial 2007 Limited Edition GT XL MM....It's quite nice, but never seems to get enough wrist time. I should sell it.
  18. I have a v4 FC Diver and it is quite nice as Legend indicates above. To make it best in class you need a Tissot Powermatic 80 21,600 bph movement, a Vac relume and AR. Total investment will be about $1000 plus the watch.
  19. Thanks, DropTopMan. Mine should arrive this week and I am keen to 'press' it into service.
