  1. In the sake of interest, I thought I should scan then entire Explorer page from the brochure. It seems to me that the black face explorer GMT hand looks a different tint. sorry for the size, but I didn't want to resize the image and lose resolution. edit...inserted new pic.
  2. Well, it's hard to tell without a picture of yours, but, here is a scan from the newest Rolex catalogue. Hope this helps!
  3. Nice looking! I really like the rubber strap. But, I still prefer the vintage Carreras.
  4. Well, seeing as how we're showing off Tags, here's mine. Bought in 1990 for $1060 I would really like to see a Heuer Carrera Panamericana 60's era repped.
  5. What do you guys think of this? $133,000!!!
  6. I love the vintage Heuers! The Carrera is my all-time favorite model. Very nice purchase.
  7. I hear ya, my wife's Yachty just grinded at every wind. After we get into our new house next week, I am going to order her another, but this time an eta.
  8. Alright, I'll bite... Last winter I bought an Asian Yachtmaster for my wife. Fit and finish were excellent, except someone crossthreaded the caseback. If the watch was unworn for the afternoon and evening, it would need winding. Then, last month, the whole thing cratered. Because of the caseback, I couldn't get into it. I didn't even get 1 year out of it. I have nothing against Asian autos. Most of mine are. This is the only one I had problems with.
  9. Was that the same episode where they determined time of death because of the power reserve of the watch minus the time shown on the dial? Very scientific, ideed!
  10. Exactly! Things will be going terrific...sex will be plentiful, until one day, you are sleeping on the edge of a king size bed with your wife in the middle wearing flannel granny pajamas! A happy wife is a happy life! Words to live by.
  11. @Dutchy, women will change you....slowly, over a long period of time. Until your manhood is dissolved into a mush of "yes, dear".
  12. I've never had any problems with Canadian Customs. I have had watches shipped DHL, EMS, Canada post, and UPS. I haven't had a problem yet (touch wood). Our trusted dealers know how to ship us the goods.
  13. I always take my watches apart and grease up the orings, but the most extreme test was.... h) deep end of the pool. Also have done a wave pool.
  14. It is impossible for me to sneak anything past Mrs. Miquel. She is a banker and has all of my transactions at her fingertips. One day, I took some of the guys from work out for lunch and she phones me at 1:15pm asking why I spent $100 at the restaurant.
  15. I was just thinking last night about ordering a 16610. HNow you have sealed my fate! Thanks By-Tor
  16. I have drilled lugholes on a non-hole silix sub. It is not fun. I used an 18volt drill on the lowest speed setting, HSS bits, and lots of 3 in 1 oil. I took the movement and crystal out of the watch and slowly drilled from the exsisting springbar hole outwards. This takes a long time and extreme amount of patience. The trick is to try and get the drill straight (between the lugs) to the case. I also use a small vise to hold the watch case in place. Good luck!
  17. Very nice job! Excellent write-up! I am glad you got the watch of your dreams...it is a terrific piece!
  18. I have used a drill press in the past when that has happened with some success. The drill has to be very slow with lots of oil. Good luck!
  19. That is good news! Very nice Comex...can't wait for the finished product.
  20. Very nice work. I am sure the owner is very happy with the results! Thanks for sharing with us!
  21. We used to be able to drink at work, but then the owner came down for a visit. There were lots of empties laying around, so he put permament ban on it
  22. Okay, thanks! I used a drill press on my silix sub from the inside out. I had to use a vise to get it in the right position...very difficult. From now on, I am only buying watches with the holes already in them.
  23. Thanks for the tips! Very nicely done. Just one question ... did you drill from the inside of the lug or the outside?
