Buddy, I hate to admit it too, but the tunes are damn catchy. Kinda like Boney M and Bee Gees. I have a kick ass stereo in the car and find myself listening to them. I am leary though. Not sure If I want to spend the extra for PVD? Mont Blanc is one of those watches that I wouldn't mind antying up for the gen. Very nice man, congrats.

Equities is always a good category to invest in. It is med-high risk but can give a return around 8-10%. The USD is quite unstable these days but historically the USD will bounce back. Equities might not be a bad move. I invested in Canadian Equities in a sizable amount and have seen a sizeable return. The growth of precious metals too is on the rise. I also invested heavily into the precious metal stocks 5 years ago and have also seen a sizeable return. I usually don't invest in asset allocation so I cannot comment on its potential. 20 years away is still a fair amount of time for your stock to recover.

I agree with you 100% that the 6340's are super reps. Everything I read on these indicate that. Very hard to tell that these are reps without looking at the movement. The rubber strap gives it away too. I am eager to get one of these just to compare to my gen. Maybe this version would be the one.

China manufactures go by European sizes, not US. The correct Jacket/Suit size to ask for is 54/38. I take the same jacket size as you so that should work. I have aquired many suits from Kenberg and this measurement should be fine. Clothing seems to be a little [censored] up in regards to sizes when comparing US to European. If you are getting a t-shirt and typically wear a x-large, you should ask for a XXL. Dress shirts should be 17 1/2 if you normally wear a 16 1/2 - 17".

I bought 2 Oris watches. The TT3 and the Carlos Coste. Both have had QC issues. The CC went to The Zigmeister for a relume because the dial had big lume flaws and bezel problems. Jay from Silix was nice enough to send me a new case for it. The TT3 has been sent off to Andrew twice. Once for the crystal popping right out of the watch, and this second time was for the watch running fast 1 hour a day and then stopped. Oris reps are crap. Better off buying the gen.

The gen's lume is fairly green. I think a bit higher than C3.

Don't know about you, but this watch smells like a fake to me. Look at the date font and rotor. The rotor has the classic sticker font as well as the "H". You will also notice that the rotor is covering the mainspring to hide the fact that there is no regulator. HBB on the Bay

I bought the carbon fiber one from Oracle. Kevlar is a rougher surface which I am not too fond of. Carbon fiber is smooth and has a nice design pattern. Kevlar is very durable (used in bullet proof vests) but is quite stiff. Just personal preference I guess, but carbon fiber is prefered for me.

I am afraid that The Zigmeister is sticking pretty tight with his prefered list. You must be a previous client of his that has done some work with him in the past. He is not taking on any new work until November anyhow. I would suggest you checking on RG to see if there are any modders who could help you out. You can also try sending him a PM here. He checks in time to time but not too frequently. I would also suggest that you contact the dealer you got the watch from to see if you can send it back for repair. Our trusted dealers here are usually pretty good to address any issues you are having. Good luck.

I just bought the conversion links through APBands along with a buckle. I also got this Hornback Gator from HKTan.

My vote is definately Hamilton. I picked up this Hamilton Khaki Action Chrono in the Bahamas earlier this year for $1200. A little more than your budget but worth every penny. It features a ETA 7753 with croc strap.

OMG!! This is good news and bad news. The good news is that the black dial is now accurate. The bad news is that I just picked up a white/silver subdial version. Looks like I have to buck up for the black one now too. I'm gonna go broke and the C1 still isn't out yet

The new ROO with sec @ 12 has become the new hot item. I am starting this thread to try and get advice as to where I can find a good bone croc strap? I checked at AP Bands but I would need to spend around $550 for what I want. Seems kinda stiff since I spent that much on the rep. HKTan also comes to mind and I will have to email Aaron to see what he has available. From my understanding, you MUST purchase conversion links to retrofit a strap. I welcome any input you guys have.
