  1. Puretime 111E is a very good rep for the price. Ziggify it and it becomes something very special.
  2. What about a Graham Chronofighter? Weren't these watches designed for pilots in the first place? The large trigger crown guard and reset were designed for pilots wearing gloves.
  3. It is because of the angle and the lighting. The subdials are dark grey like yours. I believe there is only one factory producing these.
  4. LOL, the first thing I thought of when I read Zenith was the Bluefakes 31 jewel version The movement does look fantastic. Looks like a fine project indeed.
  5. The Ziggified 2006 Cousteau. Complete with eta swap, date wheel swap, full relume and double AR. One of my all time favorites.
  6. That sucks!! I had the watch over at The Zigmeister for all my mods, in fact you did the double AR for me. I will have to drop him a line to see if you can do that mod for me.
  7. I own an older 3717 that has been fully modded with an eta swap, date wheel swap, relume and double AR with a custom HK Tan strap. The only thing that kinda annoys me is the thickness of the 3, 6, 9 and 12 markers. I know this has been brought up in discussion and I have heard of members doing the "marker mod" on it. Is this easy to do, and are there any modders that can do this? Thanks
  8. HBB of course!! Add a nice suit and a Magnum glare and you are set.
  9. I am not American, commie, or a terrorist either. I like Grahams, but that one is way too patriotic for me. It looks like 2 American nipples staring at you. You might as well wear a shirt that says OK USA on it. (Taken from Bloodsport BTW)
  10. Here is a pic of my gen's caseback. You will notice that the center pin on rotor is different as well as the lack of the regulator on both watches. So like everyone has stated, they are both reps.
  11. I did this review of the Flat 6 rep vs gen a while back ago. It might help answer some questions. The overall accuracy of the new Porsche Design Flat 6 is extremely good. There are some minor differences between the rep and gen, but a very well done rep. The next super rep maybe? Porsche Design Flat 6 6340 The gen is on the top and rep on the bottom (pictures courtesy of Trusty). As you can see, the accuracy is quite uncanny. The color of the inner bezel is a little off but the markers, date font and overall quality of the dial and bezel is very good. The crown is virtually spot on. The gen's engraving is a little deeper and crisper, but the rep is quite accurate nevertheless. The chrono buttons on the rep is tighter and more concealed than the rep. The rep has a larger gap and seems to have a little different finish. Markings are very good though. You will see that the markings on the case are spot on. The rotor on the gen has a bit chrisper and deeper engraving. The parts on the movement have machined swirl markings on the gen and just polished on the rep. The gen being an eta 7750 also has the regulator fine adjustment. You will also notice that the strap on the gen has 6340 marked on the end close to the lugs. These markings are on both straps. The buckle clasp is spot on with the correct markings. The metal used on the clasp of the gen is very solid and heavy and constructed of surgical steel whick is much better than that of any of the reps I own. The rep uses soft rubber which is grippy and not smooth like the BR02 or 21J Chopard Miglia for example. The gen uses vulcanized rubber which is thicker, harder, and has a glossy finish. The lume on the gen as expected, uses C3 superluminova and is spectacular to look at in the dark. Some of you with the reps might want to ship yours to The Zigmeister for a makeover. The watch comes with an awesome case and box. I hope this review helps a bit with your decision to buy the rep. The overall accuracy to the gen is very good and highly recommended. Of course there is nothing like a gen. I really love this watch, and that is why I forked up some cash to get it. In case you are wondering, the AR is light with a purplish tint.
  12. Very kind words, thank you very much!!
  13. 111E with my new born baby girl.
  14. It is such a shame that this rep has so many QC problems. The OCC has the potential of super rep status if not for the lack of QC. Problems with this rep is evident in all areas of the watch. Here is my first OCC. Notice the lume at 4 o'clock? Worse yet, look at the lume on the minute hand. I almost wanted to throw this watch out the friggin window. The feel of the rep itself is phenomenal. The QC though is about the worse I have seen and heard on a single model rep. It is off to The Zigmeister right now for a complete relume.
  15. I too will not send my watches to anyone but The Zigmeister. I am very fortunate enough to be on his trusted list but after sending him over a dozen watches. I will agree that it would be worth while to await his return. It is very apparent that we all feel that he is an asset and his absence from the forum is a huge setback. He is a great man of integrity and expects members of the boards, dealers and modders to share in the same accumen. His return will rely heavily on how we all conduct ourselves and ensure that this hobby remains with some sense of integrity. His contributions to this forum is greater than just about anyone and I truly miss his presence here. I hope you come back soon Rob.

  17. The Zigmeister, I also hope I am on your list of prefered customers. I just sent you 5 watches, lol. All I can say is that you are a great man of integrity and you contributions to this forum is one of the main reasons I am still here. You have worked on many of my watches and everyone has come back better than I expected. I am very lucky and fortunate that you live in Canada. I have chatted with Ken on numberous occations with the frustrations that plaguing our hobby. I know were are part of a very grey industry, but everyone should expect integrity and service. Besides Chieftang, you are the only guy that I trust to work on my watches. I hope things improve here and through other forums. Every member plays an intricate part in making sure this hobby remains enjoyable and that BS is kept to a minumum. Cheers The Zigmeister, you are a true gentleman and I hope you can come back again regularly when things get better.
  18. Here is my strap also from HK. Same style different color.

  20. I wanna see a wristshot from her aunt sporting a PAM
  21. Jay has offered me a new dial on my next order as well as a 5% discount in which I accepted. Good to know he gave good effort to keep me happy.
  22. My eyes are set on a gen Zenith this year. Probably a Defy classic. As far as reps go, I am gunning for the Big Pilot and Concord C1 (under speculation) with of course the ROO seconds at 12.
  23. Here are the differences: PAM111E PANERAI stamped all over movement Conventional sausage dial Polished crown guard PAMIIIH c
  24. I would recommend the 111E from Puretime.
