  1. Today: Tomorrow:
  2. I just got back from my vacation at the Atlantis Resort in Nassau Bahamas. I can honestly say that this resort is the best I have ever stayed at. The water park is huge and the beaches have the softest sand. Thanks to my work partner, we had the honor of a private table in the VIP section of the AURA, the Atlantis night club hot spot. One of my friend is well connected with the GM of the AURA which gave us the best seating available in the house. Thursday was the start of the Michael Jordan Celebrity Charity Golf Tournament. At AURA my friends and I sat 6 feet from Michael Jordan and Spike Lee. MJ was sporting a PAM246. I tried to look closer but didn
  3. The only water watches I would consider is the PO and SD. The rest will not see moisture.
  4. With my growing rep collection, I am finding it harder and harder to decide which watches to bring with me for vacation. I want to narrow it down to 3 watches. I have about 40 reps, and I have narrowed it down to 6. Please help me decide which ones to bring. I definately want to bring at least 1 Panerai. I will be going to The Atlantis Resort in Nassau Bahamas for the 2008 Michael Jordan Celebrity Golf Tournament. I will need a casual watch, a dress watch and a water watch. Here are my choices: Thank you very much and I really do value your opinions.
  5. My 3717 shown here in front of a portly Mike Reno of the Canadian rock band Loverboy at my wife's Christmas party.

  7. I would be in for 1 too if you also have room for a returning supporter. I am sending a watch to The Zigmeister for a relume, so I can have him remove the crystal and send it to you if you can fit me in for one. Please let me know ASAP. Thanks!!
  8. Try a pair of rubber diswashing gloves and use your palm or use 2 fingers to open. This is the handiest caseback opening tool around.
  9. I bought mine from Andrew too, and my crown guard was crap. I sent the whole watch back to him for a replacement. When the I got the replacement, that crown guard was crap too. I then ordered a different watch just so he could ship me a new replacement crownguard. Guess what? That crown guard was crap too. It didn't even fit properly. The lever was so loose that it would flip open just by turning my wrist. This watch now sits in my case just useless. I am extremely frustrated and angry, but what do you do? I bought 40 watches or so from Andrew, and I am very unhappy with this situation. I give up on trying to sort it out. If you happen to find a replacement crown guard, let me know. I have stopped rep collecting until quality assurance is improved.
  10. I was browsing the bay and came across this: Item number 260195468205. Watch looks good, but the location of the pearl is wrong. No box and papers? I smell scam. What do you think? Type in the item number in the search field on ebay.
  11. I don't think this watch will be repped anytime soon. The repped rotor will have a black C1 sticker on it.
  12. I would have to disagree with you on this one. There are 52 separate parts that go to the construction of this case alone. This watch is much better constructed than the HBB for a fraction of the price. It is also a certified chronometer. Triple layered dial and the Movado groups new superwatch.
  13. The watch is right out of the box. Factory lume. It is one of the best I have seen on a stock rep.
  14. This has been a fantastic year for reps. So many great nominations for this year. Here are some of my top picks: SFSO Super Sea Dweller Santos 100 Chrono PAM 253 Regatta SMP Chrono Bentley 6.75 Big Date Chopard Mille Miglia Chrono IWC Cousteau Puretime's 111E and the 3717 are also great.
  15. Construction wise, I know it is much well constructed than the HBB. It also costs $7000 less.
  16. The MSRP on the SS version is about $3k, RG is $12K. I think it is quite a striking watch. I am going down to the Bahamas in Jan and might pick one up.
  17. You have to understand that The Zigmeister's decision to leave the forum is not based on monetary means, otherwise he would still be here. There is no doubt in my mind that moderators and admin of this forum will make changes to make his return comfortable. With 2400 reads and a 100 posts in the past day, there is no doubt that we all value the contributions he has made to the forum and value his membership here. I have had over half a dozen reps worked on by him and never had a problem booking an appointment with him. With all the work he has put in, a well deserved break is justified in my opinion. We all need his head clear and mind focused when we need him to work on our precious reps Come back soon Rob!!
  18. I thought I would start a thread to show off our The Zigmeisterfied masterpieces. With The Zigmeister gone from the forum for a undisclosed amount of time, please show off your masterpieces to honor his work. These are pics of his most recent works:
  19. You are not wanted here TROLL. I suggest a ban.
  20. Rob, You are a great man of integrity and practice implicit business accumen. I have sent you many watches over the past 8 months since rep collecting and I can honestly say that you have been an asset to this hobby. Your insight and knowledge in the rep world is the reason I still collect and keep coming back to this forum. I appreciate a person who tells it like it is, because this is how I am also. I hope your break is not a very long one as I am sure you will be missed by all. I wish you and Jennifer a very Merry Christmas and look forward to seeing you back again.
  21. I just got my Baume & Mercier Riviera in RG from Andrew today. On his site, it is advertised that this watch comes with AR and saphire crystal. When I look at it, there does not seem to be any colored tint from the crystal. Do all AR coatings emit a colored tint? There seems to be quite a bit of glare from the crystal. Here is a link to the watch I bought :Riviera. Other than that, it is a fantastic rep.
  22. Great pics and review. I have a gen MB Starwalker and the rep looks pretty good. The serial number is the only thing that seems out of placement on a rep. On the Starwalker, the serial is laser etched on the edge of the clip. The threading of real MB's is metal and not plastic. Here are some pics of mine to compare:
  23. Just goes to show that a drunken Scotsman and reps dont mix. Judging by what the guy was wearing in the pics, he should have taken them up on the offer and bought a rep. You are right though, most street dealers will not display violence unless really prevoked. This is what happened... Excuse me kind sir, can I opper you some pine watches for very good deal today? Bugger off!! Look at that rehaut and crown, you should be ashamed. The rest is history.
  24. Where can I get these from?
