  1. ROFL!!! I love this forum.
  2. The one that had the baby blue watch is not gay, which makes it even more funny when you insinuate that the watch is. I think the politacally correct term would be "Feminine watch", not gay. I see your point Pugs. But I do like the term "gay" better. There is a novelty element to that term.
  3. I just received an email from Davidsen with pics on the Fiddy that he is replacing. Please take a look and tell me if this is ok. I appreciate your help and feedback.
  4. Yup. This one here ETA 7750. I have purchased 3 of these now, all of which was given to The Zigmeister for swaps. The Zigmeister told me that they were the real deal and very good movements.
  5. I think that the smaller the case diameter, the more gay the watch becomes. Pink and light blue dials are also a sign of gayness. I have a friend that has a watch with both attributes. I don't know the name, but it was the gayest watch I have ever seen. The case diameter was about 35. It had a baby blue dial. I said "nice watch, does it come in men's? He got a little upset. You should not wear a watch that you would be willing to let your daughter wear. I don't talk to my friend much anymore. I keep wondering if it is because of the watch, but it's probably because we are so busy all the time.
  6. If I love a rep enough, I would splurge for a gen in an instant. I was very close to purchasing a 111J when I was on holidays in Cozumel. $3900 was the price. I actually think about it almost every day. So sad. The only thing that held me back was the fact that the 111 still remains as one of the most repped PAM's. I wanted a 127 and would willingly spend the 10K for it. He actually had one in the safe but would not sell it. He said that it was on hold for a very big customer. Looked all over during the cruise and it is nowhere to be found. Most of the Panerai the AD's had were base models that I didn't care much for. The reps all say that IWC and Panerai still remains as the most popular watches. I agree about the techy thing in regards to modding the watch. It puts a lot of fun into rep collecting. Always striving for perfection. So I think we are perfectionists. I saw a RG Portugese at a big watch store for 29K in a fully encased single display worthy of the Hope Diamond. My wife bought a 15K yellow diamond ring so the Manager did not mind letting me put it on (where was the bloody camera when you needed it?). It was the only non-female thing that brought me to orgasm. My wife wanted me to buy something for myself, but 29k was out of reach and would have allowed me to buy a nice luxury car instead. I did not see anything else that I was so passionate about to spend the money on. That is the beauty of a rep. You can kinda like it and spend a couple hundred on it and feel really good. Spending 5-10k on a gen? You better love it!!!
  7. Whichever one you buy, make sure you send it off to The Zigmeister if you can spare the expense. The fully superlumed dial is breathtaking. A date wheel swap is a must. Pick up a Swiss ETA 7750 movement of ebay for $160 and you got yourself a rep that is as close to a gen as you can get.
  8. Latest update..... I received an e-mail just now from Davidsen. He feels very bad about the situation and assured me that a brand new fiddy will be made from scratch and given extra special TLC. He said the batch of bridges were to be checked and now I truly believe that his detail was missed at the factory in regards to the yellow writing since another member claims to have the same problem. This shows a lot of integrity on Davidsen's part and I am happy about his commitment to customer service. Flaws do happen on reps and many of us have received reps that were less than perfect. The important thing is how a vendor makes good with it's customers and show that they care. I am very excited about seeing my new Fiddy. He said he will send me a bunch of pictures for me to go though before it is shipped out. This is awesome service. I will post the pics once he sends them to me for all of you to see and advise me of it's quality and accuracy. Because of how Davidsen has handled this situation, I will continue to buy from him.
  9. Thank you very much kind madam . I have posted a link to this thread in the reply to Davidsen. I am confident he will do the right thing. I have lots of trade references which would state that I am an honorable customer. I have 50+ reps and other merchandise I have purchased from various dealers in this forum. I have money to spend and I hope he treats me right.
  10. Thanks for the info and great advice. If you look closely at both movements, all the markings, screw positions, flaws, are exactly the same. He has assured me that a replacement will be sent to me right away. I have requested that I would send him back this watch only once his replacement's tracking number is validated. I have even sent him money for replacement EMS shipping back to me. A gesture of good will on my part. I am easy to deal with. I hope he will honor this request.
  11. Wow, this is exceptionally disturbing. I have no doubt that this is the same watch as your return. I am going to send him this watch back for a replacement. I don't like refurbished watches. Did he send you a replacement while you sent yours back barrett? I would hate to send it back just to have him switch out the bridge and send it back to me.
  12. New development.....After posting this thread, I went to look at the back of the Fiddy, and guess what? The movement is not working!!!! Yes, the quality control is in the crapper. I am waiting for all of you who told me so, "I told you so". I hope Davidsen is at least an honorable dealer and offer me a replacement. I will keep all of you posted.
  13. Just arrived today, the 111E and 127 (Fiddy). Through great anticipation, I ordered Davidsen because I wanted the best rep I could get out of the box. This is my first purchase through Davidsen and have been advised by veteran board members to stay away. Others have told me nothing but good things to say. I encourge all of you whom have had good or bad experiences elaborate on this thread. I also would like any of you members whom are familiar with these two models (in term of genuines) to give their opinions of the reps' accuracy. So does Davidsen live up to the hype? At first glace, the PAM's are striking to look at. The AR on both watches are unreal. The Fiddy is a bit stronger than the 111E. The Fiddy has a purple-ish hue, while the 111E is towards the blue side. Both very nice. Again, I don't know the degree of accuracy in regards to the color of AR used, so please feel free to post if you know. The watches were shipped with 4 sets of straps, 2 for each watch (both 24mm 111E, and 26mm Fiddy). The staps are suprisingly good quality. Thick straps, good stitching and logo'd buckles. The buckles are all different, brushed polished, and a couple with the modern panerai logo. 111E The 111E is using a traditional lumed dial, non sandwiched. The movement features decorated bridges stamped "Panerai" vs the 111H which has evolved to the c
  14. I love the fact that the PAM's are manuals. It feels kinda cool winding a watch. The Swiss Unitas 6497 may also be arguably the most reliable type of movement in a rep. It is mainly the autos' that are giving people problems.

    TWP 111 "E"

The decorated bridges for the E movement is correct, but the case back is wrong. There should be 3500 units made in the serial, not 2000. It seems that the caseback is from a standard 111H.
  16. Wow!! This is all extremely good information and thanks for the input and contributing to this thread. I think that aside from asthetics, all can contest that quality control is of foremost importance. I have heard both good and bad for DSN watches. I hope I am one of the lucky ones. I should be receiving them sometime next week. I will post a full review with pics when I get them. I am excited yet nervous. I certainly hope that all turns up well.
  17. I have just ordered a 127 (Ultimate Fiddy) and 111E Ultimate from Davidsen. While his watches look very good, I have heard mixed reviews of his quality. He states that his reps have superlumed hands and dials, but how good are they actually? I know that the work is very hard to compare to The Zigmeister's, but I need to hear from members who have had some experience with both. I have a current 111H that The Zigmeister modified with superluminova and the cannon pin fix that looks spectacular. Any feedback would be greatly appreciated.
  18. I have the HKTan honey brown tan bone gator strap. It is my favorite from him. This is a pic of it on a 111H. I am going to buy a 127 very likely from Davidson. Is his the best?
  19. I pick this one, the Bentley 6.75. The Zigmeister did a fantastic review of the movement and says nothing but good things about it. Everytime I wear it, people notice. Very good quality construction.
  20. WOW!!! This is quite amazing and impressive. I wish all reps had random serial sequences.
  21. I took my mine with me on my cruise at the end of last month. It was used for all my water excursions. This included snorkelling, parasailing, and seadoos. No problems whatsoever. No signs of moisture build up at all. I don't know if this is hit or miss with quality control, but one thing I always checked for before entering water was to make damn sure the crown was screwed on really tight. I was really nervous at first because this is the first time I had ever submerged a rep in water. The fish passed the test with flying colors. I agree that the dealer should either repair or replace your watch. If they are a reputable dealer, you will have no problems with that. Good Luck

    PAM 111h

This is my strap for the 111H. I got it from HKTan and it is a beauty. Honey brown bone gator.
  23. I think the bezel alignment is really hit and miss. The wierd thing is that the one I bought sits virtually bang on after the click. I sent my 2006 to The Zigmeister for a ETA and datewheel swap. Also the infamous superluminova application. This is perhaps my favorite rep. I am very tempted to buy the 07 model as well.
