  1. A month ago I collided with a drunk driver that ran a red light. I jammed on my brake and was lucky to hit his car on the back end. I was unfortunate though to ram my hand right through the windshield The airbags went off and I believe they truely saved my life. For the past month I haven't been doing much, but my hand is now healing and will be back to norm hopefully. Thank god my family was not with me. I stand even harder against drunk drivers I'm glad to be back
  2. Nice watch, I have the same on and it is replicated quite well. Unfortunatly for me, it doesn't get as much wrist time as I would like. I tried on the gen and it does feel different. Maybe the color of the date font is throwing me off? The feel of the gen is quite different. It is very heavily polished and feels different. I don't know about you Dave. I know you have tried on the gen, so how do you think it compares?
  3. Daylight will be in strong consideration for my next gen purchase. Thanks for the post. Nice Job.

    IWC 3717

I just posted these pics in the Photography section, but here is my 3717 v1 fully modified. Work completed: - Swiss ETA Swap - ETA Date Wheel Swap - Chieftang Double AR - Hour Markers Removed and Replaced with Superluminova - HKTan Custom Strap
  5. Just got my v1 3717 back from The Zigmeister and it looks awesome. Thought I would share with you. Work completed: - Swiss ETA Swap - ETA Date Wheel Swap - Chieftang Double AR - Hour Markers Removed and Replaced with Superluminova - HKTan Custom Strap
  6. Only the V1 version of the 3717 had the white lume. I have the v1 and had it relumed, Swiss ETA swap, date wheel swap by The Zigmeister, along with double AR from Chieftang. The gen has lume on the hour and minute hands and 12, 3, 6, 9 o'clock markers only. The Zigmeister removed the bulky hour markers and recreated them using superluminova. Just got it back today and will post pictures when I get home.
  7. Came accross this and thought it might be useful. http://www.blu-raystats.com/Stats/Stats.php
  8. Pioneer Kuro Plasma gets my vote. I am a sucker for pure blacks and I don't think any set on the market can touch it for that. I just bought a 60" Kuro and waiting for the basement to finish so I can set it up. I also have a Samsung 46" LCD for my bedroom. It is also a fantastic set. There are plus and minuses for both LCD and Plasma. I would stay away from DLP. It looks pretty good but is a dead technology.
  9. Which way is the silhouette turning? Clockwise or counterclockwise? It can actually spin either way. See if you can make it turn the other way. Use the planted foot to help you.
  10. In the last episode of Entourage, Ari Gold got a gold AR ROO as a gift. That show is awesome for spotting nice watches.
  11. Scam sites have been a hot topic for a while and I am curious where they buy their watches from? I highly doubt that they buy them from the factory direct and am suspect that they purchase from the dealers we know. I am not for certain about this but I don't find it likely that they would have direct factory contacts. Most of the scam sites seem to have the same watches that are found on these forums. They just happen to sell up to 4 times the asking price. I looked at Bluefakes as an example. I find their guarantees, policies and specs just hilarious. Where do you guys think they get their watches from?
  12. I say we run a photo contest and use the top 12 picked images for the calendar. The picked winners will receive a 1 year platinum membership. We can add historical facts on the winning piece that is photographed.
  13. WU fees are horrible. It will end up costing you more than buying straight from the cartel. I have had no probs with Josh or Andrew. They have always treated me fair and given me great service.
  14. I also would suggest Trevor over at Rep Geek. I have ordered a bunch of stuff from him and it is top notch. Another place to consider is www.dhgate.com. I have purchased many items from them and they have absolutely everything you can think of. Lots of replica items there from software, apparel to electronics and jewelry. They are like a China version of Ebay. They have a user trust feedback system like Ebay. They take Paypal and credit card so ordering is quite secure. They work off an escrow system, so payment will not be released to the seller until the item is recieved and you are satisfied. Give them a look.
  15. I feel that modding is a necessity to rep collecting. The Zigmeister is the only modder I have confidence in (no disrespect to the others). I have sent him many watches and have been extremely happy with the results. He takes extreme pride in his work and it shows. I really hope he has a great trip and am eager to see him back soon. Here are some pics of his work: IWC Cousteau Eta Swap Eta Datewheel Swap Full Relume Double AR by Chieftang, crystal removal and reinstall by The Zigmeister IWC 3717 Eta Swap Eta Datewheel Swap Full Relume Double AR by Chieftang, crystal removal and reinstall by The Zigmeister PAM 111H Cannon Pin Fix Full Relume PAM 111H Cannon Pin Fix Full Relume Rolex SSD Full Relume I have a few more, but you might get bored
  16. Very nice collection man!! I like your strap choices. Here is my collection. I am still looking for a 113 or other white faced PAM.
  17. It is very apparent that he wasn't into the hobby like we are. In a way I think that we all want our watches to pass as gens. That is why we are so anal to have perfection in our reps. I usually try not to engage too much into conversation when someone comments on my reps. They usually say "nice watch", or "I like your watch". I just reply by saying thanks. An understated response is quite powerful at times. My closest friends and co-workers know I wear reps and gens and just appreciate that I wear nice timepieces. I had a client once just glare at my watch. I was wearing my PAM 111E and he could not take his eyes off it. When I looked at him, he said that he just loves Panerai. When I asked if he was a collector, he said yes but mostly replicas. When I told him mine was a rep too, he couldn't believe it. When I asked him where he buys his reps, he said most of them were from Canal Street when he went to New York and the others off the internet. The internet sites he went to were run of the mill cheap replica sites. It kinda shows how the general public gets nabbed by crappy rep sites. I did not disclose where I got my PAM from other than that it was from the Orient. Do you guys refer people to these forums?
  18. Both the 3717 v1 and Cousteau get my vote. With some mods, they look quite spot on. The are good out of the box, but with some work, they are masterpieces. Both watches have ETA swap, Eta Datewheel swap, Chieftang double AR, Full Relume and custom strap for 3717.
  19. LMFAO!!! I spat beer all over my monitor. That is awesome.
  20. I just ordered a couple of straps from Panatime and they are fabulous!! Excellent service, prices and communication. I highly recommend them.
  21. V, Just shrug it off. It is very apparent about the contributions you have made to this forum and I really enjoy your posts. I too am building up a gen collection and minimizing my reps. A rep is a good evaluation to see if I love it enough to buy the gen. I am very envious of your collection V.
  22. AP sec @ 12 with my new HKTan hornback gator strap.
  23. I get about 36 hours, but it is hard to know whether the watch is fully charged. The Zigmeister is not taking on any work until November, but I am sure he will be curious to see how well this movement is put together.
