Hey everyone, I need to buy some drill bits for stainless steel... 1mm, 1.3mm, 1.6mm, 2.65mm etc. All the local stores only have a couple of small sizes, none of which are correct. I tried looking online for snapon, but I can only find sets of bits. Can anyone recommend an online seller who can suppy these sizes? cheers Dizz

Hmm. I have a T-21 here. I'll try that one. Much less dome than the t-19.

Any 703 can be correct for your 16520. During a servicing, Rolex would install the newest version they have in stock. A 704 wouldnt be correct but I guess they might install them these days if you sent in a watch for service.

I use one of those spring loaded center punches to make a dent for the drill bit to start in. Figure out where you want the hole and mark it with a fine tip sharpie felt pen. Then place the punch exactly where you want it and push. When the spring loaded mechanism hits it, you will get a nice deep starting point for your drill.

Those A21j movements are pretty good. I would rather have one of those than a A2836 copy or one of those new silly 3135 copy movements. If its losing 15 min a day, then there is something wrong with it. I dont think you will be able to get anywhere near that much adjustment out of it.

PIcs borrowed from Freddy. Its not easy to find the old 703 with the narrow cornet. I've got a whole bunch and they are all the newer wider cornet.

Oh great! lol

Hhhmm.. I just bought a gen black dial from another member here 5 minutes ago, so I am going to hold off on the cyclops removal until I see how I like the watch with a black dial. If its ok, then I will hold off on the Explorer transformation. I think a t-19 might look pretty sweet on there. Might have to take the height down a little...

Isnt there a rolex crystal that will just snap right on without having to mod it? I honestly dont want to go through the work of grinding it down... hhmm... I just found this.. T-21: ID: 29.5, OD: 30.6 C-135: ID: 29.5, OD; 30.7 Im going to try putting a t-19 on it

yeah i just saw the rehaut in the pic of the black bezel watch... Thats the one thing I cant fix! Oh well. If the bracelet was the same as Yukis then this would be a deal. Take the bracelet and movement and throw the rest away. But if the bracelet is anything like the one I got on my 1680 submariner, then I dont want it. It was totally wrong and almost fell apart as I was removing it from the watch. dizz

air king and date models are 34mm and datejust is 36mm case so crystals are different.

YIKES!!! haha I guess you can file the cyclops down until its flush then sand the whole crystal flat... That seems like a lot of work and I'd rather keep the gen crystal the way it is incase I want to switch back to a datejust later on. I want to just buy a clarks or something for $15 and throw it on. I just dont know what tropic# it would be. Dizz

Question for the experts I've got this gen 16030 Datejust with ETA 2836 and I never wear it. Its too small and boring with the silver dial.. I want to turn it into an old Explorer I using this Yuki dial. Yuki Exp dial My question is, what non-cyclops plexi will fit this 16030 case? AND is this watch going to be completely incorrect or is the Datejust case fairly close to the Explorer case?? cheers Dizz

The first step is admitting you have a problem... I aquired a boring old gen clasp for an 80's Datejust about 6 months ago... It was bugging me but sitting there all by itself in my parts trays, so I bought some more gen parts to go with it... And it somehow turned into this... ALL gen except for ETA-2836 and temp ETA hand set. Proper Datejust hands are on order. I know I'll never wear it, but at least that gen clasp isnt sitting there taunting me anymore.
