  1. Cartel or Puretime 1680... Add gen crown, better plexi, better fliplock clasp, and a little case work. If you can do it yourself you would be into it for a bit over $300 or so.
  2. The dial on my PT sub was over 28mm. Much bigger than a gen dial.
  3. The complete watch from Yuki looks like the same ones Josh has. His 6538 higher quality case set is $800 with the crown, but who knows what quality it actually is. I am probably going to order the 6538 from Josh and see if a gen plexi and good aftermarket dial will fit.
  4. Will the one from Josh take a gen crystal?? Ive been looking at that one also, but im waiting for more info on it... dizz
  5. I asked DW about v72 clones and he said there is no factory that he has found, that is capable of making a reliable V72 copy for a reasonable amount of money. I guess they figure a V23 has enough applications that its workable. There probably isnt much demand for an expensive V72 copy. I'll see if I can get DW to sell me one of these new V23's and I'll send it to The Zigmeister for a review if he has time. I am really interested to see what it is. dizz
  6. You think its going to go that high? I might... I havent seen one of these for sale in a while... I was also thinking about $2000 but who knows... look at those big logo bracelets going for $10k a while ago.
  7. I would avoid the 3135 copy movement. It doesnt look anything like a real Rolex movement anyways so I dont see what all the excitement is about.... Swiss movement option is the same price. You would be crazy to choose a asian copy decorated movement for the same cost as a swiss made movement (reliability reasons) dizz
  8. DW also has a new V23 copy movement... Next generation "Mystery Movement" it sounds like... It costs a little more but he says its very good quality and fully serviced by his watchmaker. That way you get the correct subdial spacing. The biggest issue with the 7750 movement in these watches is that it is NOT designed to be manually wound and its really hard on the gears inside. You will most likely need to remove the rotor to get the movement into the case unless you install some huge bubble sea-dweller type caseback. You can read the movement reviews on the 7750's and the experts will tell you not to manually wind them. dizz
  9. Yeah i would clean it off, give it a light shot of matt clear, then send it off for vintage lume.
  10. Its been done. It will fit. You have to remove the feet from the gen dial obviously and custom mount the dial to the movement but its no big deal. dizz
  11. I have a gen t-127 on my MBW 5513 case and it went on just fine. I tried to install a clarkes t-19 and the ring wouldnt press on. I would probably try sanding the outside lip of the crystal a bit before the retaining ring.
  12. I wouldnt bother with a gen movement but thats just me.. Gen crystal, dial, insert and maybe a gen bracelet. Cant see the movement anyways so for me, i cant justify spending the money. My only deviation from this was my Daytona project with the V23. I got a good deal on a v23 so it was a no brainer. Plus there isnt much of anything out there to replace a v23. The only copy v23 I could find was $250 and thats only about $100 less than i paid for my gen movement. I cant wait for someone to actually get one of these new watches and mod it out and see whats what.
  13. Im turning my SSD into a 16660 like Polex Pete did. I am going to use an old matt dial though to make it a little more vintage looking. Should be a fun project.
  14. Common Ubi, Dont leave us hangin...
  15. Yeah $600 is for sure a decent price. Yes please Ubi, let me know if you come across a white 1665 dial in your travels. cheers dizz
  16. WTF? ha ha ha I'll give you $405 for it right now. Whats your paypal address???
  17. Too much $ for me right now, but theres a white 1665 mk4 dial on VRF for $600. still available. Just had to let you guys know. This is the cheapest I have seen one in over 5 years. dizz
  18. Thanks bro! Yes i know what you mean.. I have been slowly selling off anything non vintage, and putting the money into gen parts for a small group of "keeper" watches.... Bracelets and dials mostly are my new "must have" gen parts.. except for the 6263. The DW dial will have to make do. I figured that instead of having 10 random watches, I would rather have 3 or 4 almost perfect vintages. Dizz
  19. Get one of the new ExpII vintages. Swap out the dial and bezel for 1675 parts. Yuki dial for example.
  20. Did someone say "Daytona" ??? My new favorite
  21. No its not the same watch...
  22. Lets keep this one going... Heres another one I recently finished.. Datejust 16030 ALL gen with ETA2836 replacement movement and hands.
  23. Cool thank you for the link! Thats some good info there. As for the bracelet. Its a 7205 stetchy rivet with 57 end links. I got it about a year ago before the prices of vintage parts skyrocketed again. I might swap it out for a 7835 folded link bracelet. Not sure yet. dizz
