  1. HAHA we're just giving you a hard time because thats pretty much the FIRST question every new member asks! Who has the best sub? So usually you wont get a serious answer You want the "best"? For a new sub talk to BK's Garage. WM9 is gone so no point mentioning them anymore. For a Deep sea, datejusts etc, you can look at any of the dealers here. Just get the newest version 5 or 6 Deepsea or whatever is out now.... For vintage subs and sea dwellers its MBW. For vintage Daytonas contact DW
  2. Noobfactory are good. WM9 are better. All others are junk. Gen a gen clasp for it... about $250 or less if you search around. Makes a HUGE difference.
  3. Yeah the Yuki Daytona is basicly a Cartel Daytona I believe and not even comparable to the DW. Most all the complete watches that Yuki offers for $300 or so are just regular reps same as Josh and Andrew would have. DW Daytonas are a step up as they will take gen parts and movements. Spinmasters Daytonas are simply modded DW Daytonas. You need to deceide if you are going 7750 or V72. Different cases and casebacks are needed.
  4. I think they deceided on VRF that basicly Plexi = Vintage So you are good
  5. Wrong section... but... most all rep clasps are going to be different. Good luck finding one that fits unless you have a newer model like WM9 or Noobfactory. I have a whole bin of clasps and fliplocks and i can guarantee you they are all different and not interchangable. dizz
  6. Thanks but its gunna be out of my price range I think. I dont need gen ones.
  7. WM9, not WM9... why take the risk? I just find it funny that a "new guy" has the user/pass to the website to make changes... you would need to be in REALLY good with george to have that sort of info....
  8. Weird my post isnt showing the body of the message.. oh well here it is Hey guys, Where can i get aftermarket 571 endlinks that actually FIT the 6263 Daytona case?? I am tired of fighting with these DW endlinks. Are his new ones any better? The ones i have needed a LOT of grinding to get them to fit and they still dont sit right.. I ordered 19mm endlinks from Mr Slimeball and they are 19mm endlinks designed to attach to a 20mm oyster bracelet so of course my 19mm bracelet wont fit them. Stupid. Any sources for reasonably priced endlinks that fit?
  9. If you are in Canada, I can do it for you. I just finished off a couple gen Datejusts with ETA movements so I'll have a little free time until something else comes up. I love building the datejusts. It turns out to be such a perfect watch because its all gen except for the movement and hands. Which dial do you have for it? Send me a PM if you want. cheers dizz
  10. Yeah there are at least TWO different watches in those above pictures. Look at the crown guards in the first pic and compare to the others. Not the same. And also two different dials as mentioned above. I would avoid this sale. Who knows what you are going to get. I also agree that that movement is at best a decorated clone ETA. Not gen ETA. They dont convert gen ETA's to rolex look 3135's. They only convert the Asian copy movements, and then sell them for the same price as the gen ETA. dizz
  11. Its not all that bad.... its just slightly off to the left because the gen datewindow is a little wider than the reps we normally see. I think i am going to get a nice silver flat top 3 datewheel and scan it into my PC, then i will enlarge the diameter by 1mm then reprint it. Then you can use a silver, soft pencil crayon from an art supply store to make the silver color and you can even create the brushed finish if you take your time. If you find that your font is way to far to the left then you can slightly move the whole dial to the left a tiny bit to help center the datewheel. Just make sure you leave enough clearance to be able to press on the hour hand without it rubbing on the inside of the hole through the dial. dizz
  12. +1 Very true.. nothing sparkles and makes the dial "pop" like a gen plexi.
  13. Sounds like it would be easier to use the right size movement???
  14. My Puretime datehweel lines up with my gen submariner dial... maybe ever so slightly off to the left but hardly at all.
  15. Yeah I always wondered how they put a full size datehwheel onto a ladies watch movement. You must need some custom spacer plate so the datewheel doesnt bind up as soon as you tighten the case clamps.
  16. I gotta agree with Zig on this one You can build that watch yourself for half the price. Those blank dials and crowns are dirt cheap. The only expense is the case and movement but thats only a couple hundred bucks or so.
  17. This would actually be an interesting project... Get a cartel 1680, vintageize it and do all the usual mods like crown guards and lug holes etc. Sand it down quite a bit on all the edges to mimic how a gen would look. Remember 18kt is SOFT and it will wear out much much faster than steel. Then after you get it where you want it, take it apart and send it out for heavy gold plating. That would be really cool. It would look cool because it would be all worn and dinged up and would look really genuine I think. You obviously cant mod much on a gold plated rep from a dealer because as soon as you start to polish it, the gold comes off. Forget about doing crown guards or lug holes... dizz
  18. I got one from Josh a few weeks ago. Its on his website as listed above $55 free shipping.
  19. Depends what the datewheel is made of. I have used pencil crayons on white datewheels just to take the bright white shine off them. You would have to experiment to see what will work.
  20. Yes that is correct... For interchangeable i ment the diameter is the same. Ubi is correct as the stem height is different. @ Ubi - The 2836 should work though right??? dizz
  21. I condition my rep oyster bracelets with Dremel and sanding discs pocket knife for prying folded links apart files 400 and 600 grit sandpaper ceramic sanding stones boxes of screws 3M kitchen scrubby pads light metal polish then a good soaking in your favorite oil. You can use cherry flavored oil to add a little excitement if you like...
  22. Gotta love that 702!! Its one of the most beautiful crowns Rolex ever made. Well maybe second to the 8mm...
