I often hear about "Athaya crown and tube" in relation to vintage Rollies.
But on the web the only place named in that way and correlated to watches are these guys:
http://www.athayavintage.com/
Are these the same that do the vintage Rolex parts? Seeing some of their watches on articles for places like worn&wound I may understand they don't want to show openly the not original branded parts... But how anyone can then see/order them?
Or there is another Athaya and there is some secret for initiated about how to reach them?
Thanks, GenTLe
Op, sorry for thread derail...
Ok, checked the pics over RWI and InTime about the new JKF vintage Rolexes and the Asian eta is a proper Asian eta and not a Z2.
I didn't investigate further the 21j because when I will get it, it will be a 2836 one to fit my 2846 low beat.
Problem is that there is a mis-naming here: one thing is the 4813 (real high beat 2813). Another is the Z3 PoS movement that looks like the eta but it is a bit of a crap :/ So what is what?
None.
It is one of the things the Rep factories overdo and often this creates problems to the movement itself or even ruins reps (thick reps because of fake plates... Just as stupid as it is...), let alone when you need to service it...
So why o why do you need to do something like that on a closed back watch?
And is the powermatic a direct swap with Miyota? Because if I understood the reason of the OP post, that was the benefit of using the Tissot one.
In the meantime (while the Ap reps are still with the 2824) a 2842 will do the trick
So, Minh, why didn't you present yourself here like you did on Rwg.bz (strapviet nickname)? Not a good start mate.
And again welcome Cang. I am Alex, the one of the girl pyton strap you gave me at a special price this week
A kit of 0.8-2mm screwdrivers (AF brand for example), one or 2 good tweezers (Vetus 11&13), rodico paste, hands levers, hands setters, sticky ball for case back, dial protector, spring bar remover, moebius oils (9010, hp-1300 at very least), movement holder, degreaser, denineralized water, lubeta v105 if you plan to wash the reversing wheels... And a basic timegrapher to regulate them.
I got one: bought a 2846 base plate and transplanted everything else from a 2842 plus the date change mechanism, the balance hacking lever and the keyless 3 action spring from a 2836
Oh it is not that tricky
Did it already 4/5 times.
There is a little secret to know, than it's doable.
The secret is to turn the click triangle 110 degrees so that it doesn't push against the gears. Then mount the bridge, then dotate back the click with a needle before to put back the balance wheel and bridge
Thanks all Guys.
Micky isn't Boley one of those that sell only to professionals?
iain-d thanks for the offer: I will try to get one from commercial sources. Failing that I will eventually knock at your door
Thanks CJ too, I didn't know about that site
Have you seen the latest JFactory cartel batches (presented last week)? Thoughts?
They seem nice (and I've already a 2846 to fit inside)

I am having hard time to get some of the Novodiac spring 231 (1.7mm used in the 2801.2, 2824, 2836, 2842 etc).
This thing here:
Anyone knows a source around EU, other than cousinsuk where they are not available, and those online shops that sell only to professionals?
I have a couple of base plate with missing and I'd like to have them complete.
Thanks, Gentle.
