  1. Absolutely stunning! Great work and an excellent gift!
  2. I'm going to buck the trend and say go small. Just for the fun of it. Sent via my mobile
  3. ^That is a beauty! To be honest I probably would have sold it too. I would have bought 3 nice genuine vintage pieces to pass down to each of my boys, and then banked the rest. I'm not a guy who needs a $50k watch on my wrist. I would be so paranoid that it wouldn't even be enjoyable. Sent via my mobile
  4. Yes sir! I bought a watch on craigslist for $80 and flipped it for $280. I thought I ha hit the jackpot. This is unbelievable. He has already sold it too; probably somewhere in the range if $25-$35k... Sent via my mobile
  5. He paid $3. There is not a typo. $3.... Less than a latte at Starbucks. Sent via my mobile
  6. Looks great! Excellent work. The new date wheel and t125 really complete it. JMB can do the case backs, and they look great! Sent via my mobile
  7. Thank you very much for making such an amazing bezel insert. This is built on a Silix case. Here you can see where the top of the midcase surrounding the crystal was filed down to accommodate the flat bottomed insert. The t116 was a perfect fit. Sent via my mobile
  8. The Tiger Concept 5508 v3 uses a crystal and gasket style. The bezel is held on with the octagonal wire ring. It is not gen style with a crystal retaining ring. The mineral crystal is 30.5mm. Sent via my mobile
  9. I'm a little late to the game, but I use these. https://www.topspecus.com/shop/genuine-marathon-stainless-steel-spring-bars-20mm/ They should meet your needs quite well. Sent via my mobile
  10. I built these two frankens. One for a friend, and one for myself. Sent via my mobile
  11. I did it by hand with a dremmel and a grinding stone. The took some fine grit sandpaper to smooth any rough edges. Watch the dial paint. It can flake of you're not careful. Sent via my mobile
  12. Thank you! (I sincerely mean that) I've been trying to find a reference to pair with dials like this, and I have always been unsuccessful. I had never seen it used in a civilian example... Until now. Sent via my mobile
  13. Don't hesitate to shave down a larger dial. This is a dagaz Black Bay silver dial. It was 28.5mm. I shave the edge to fit into the 28mm Tiger dial opening. I only took about 20 minutes. As with any case reshaping, take the material off in little bits. Shave and test fit, shave and test fit, and repeat until the dial is of the proper size. Sent via my mobile
  14. Beautiful example. That dial sets it apart from anything else. The Tudor 76100 and 79090 both used a dial which had similar triangle indicies, but they all had date windows. Your beautiful example is obviously no date. I cannot find another reference which used this dial outside of the early 80's Tudor Subs made for the Marine National. Someone is welcome to correct me, but I did lots and lots of searching on this. Any example you see with this dial is a MN Sub. So cool! Congratulations on this beauty! Did he get any pictures with your whole box/setup? Sent via my mobile
  15. I think we may need 3 categories: 1) Less than $500 2) $501 - $1000 3) Absolutely amazing! Sent via my mobile
  16. Put up the Frosty Flake too! Sent via my mobile

  19. After seeing all the great builds last month, I want to play. Here's a franken Tudor 79090 I built for a friend. Gen dial Gen insert Gen 702 crown Gen ETA 2824 w/ roulette date wheel Clark's hands- aged by me to match the dial HR5513 midcase and case back- light sanding and polish to remove the sharp edges Clark's bezel assembly Clark's t125 plexi. I'm so pleased with how this one came out. I decided to post it over my own 9401 UAE franken. Thanks for putting this together. Its awesome to see so many amazing pieces in one thread.
