wow... didn't realize that the bezel was gold plated BELOW the rubber coating... So at one point this was a rubberclad with rubber bezel?

Yes. The subdial placement on the 212 is standard Valjoux spacing. On top of that.. no date wheel to worry about. A question of modding the hand to fit the ETA Valjoux handstack.

Can we all STOP with the confusion! Tolis.. this is NOT a UPO. UPO= Ultimate Planet Ocean. This is simply a Silix PO. Only a few dealers carry the UPO and it will always cost between $190 and $220 new from the factory. If silix is going to sell this watch to you for $100 it dfeinitely is not a UPO. The logo looks great though. But one thing that makes me skeptical is that he doesn't show the Helium Valve placement in any of his photos. Do some research and make a decision. If it's a UPO that you want.. try andrew, josh, or Angus at puretime...

This really makes me feel an even stronger sense of community here in RWG. If the claims are in fact true, I truly can't understand why deception and falsification is the means of attracting more "users". RWG truly is the ultimate watch forum period. The environment and dialogue here is so open and non-biased that you'd be hard pressed to find any place more equal and just. That says alot about the admin(s), and it mighteven say more about the members here. Of course, we get the ocassional rant from a member that thinks another member should be banned for "thread crapping" or speaking his mind, but the fact that our forum takes a 95% neutral approach to conflict resolution and bannings really does make a difference in the overall feel of the community. If democracy were a forum, then it would be this place. Transparency, ethics, and free speech are something we all think of as fundamentals of a government, why should we expect less from our online community. This place rocks, it's my home and will always be. Keep it up RWG... we are a model community to which most forums should look up. I love this place
