Funny... A year ago, I did not care at all about IWC-watches.. They looked plain and boring to me. Too much of a "narrow brand", not well known as Breitling, Tag Heuer and Omega.. But lately, with the release of the excellent replicas I start to see the beauty of this brand.. The Ingeniur is a simple, stylish watch... Maybe that will be my first IWC..

A beauty... I just had to order this one.. The wave pattern on the dial looks better than on my regular Seamaster Pro..

I wrote the good review on the cheapie Air-King from Silix, about a year ago I think. It is truly a nice watch for the money.. However, I bought another Air-King from him last month, and it has a slightly different dial. not the same as in the pictures, and a little bit poorer. Still a nice watch and the text on the Air-King dial has changed several times during the models long lifespan.

My Perfect Sub From Josh Arrived Today--flawless.
chrgod replied to gioarmani's topic in The Rolex Area
Excellent review and pics! Chicks and Rolex is a sure winner!! Do you notice any significant difference in the modded bracelet, compared to the ordinary ones? -
I have a nice "old-school" watchmaker in Stavanger, who don't mind working with replicas... At least not those which have stock ETA-movements..

My Chrono Avenger ( I ver.) is on its way from Trusty right now... I thought that I should snap one up, before it is too late... As you know, production of the Titanium version is stopped. Another fault with the second version is that the '4' in '45' on the bezel is incorrect.

Here are a couple of other weird Rollie casebacks: The Double red Sea-Dweller "Robot Watch": The Daytona, with "Winner" and "Original gas escape valve"

I found this one on Timezone. Seems like the artist has taken the instructions "Breitling, on bridge" a bit too serious: There are a couple of really "charming" mistakes out there... The infamous RWG1 watch with "LimitEd Edition" and Breitling Navitimer Fighters "with Messers1477" are some of them.. I have even seen a "Sunmariner" some time ago!

And Now, For Something Completely Different.....
chrgod replied to Justasgood's topic in The Omega Area
... I can't belive it.. Yesterday, I was one click away from buying the excact same model Seamaster Chrono on Timezone!!! http://forums.timezone.com/index.php?t=msg...198#msg_2117519 But, I was too slow, and now it is sold.. I decided to go for a cheaper Speedmaster Professional Mark II instead. Lovely watch, with a very special complicated movement! That central chrono minute counter and combined running seconds/ 24 hour subdial really makes it stand out... Thats for sure one vintage watch there never will be made any replica of.. Excellent choice. I envy you, and good luck! -
Well... I clicked on this post with hope of finally see a good Chronograph rep of a vintage Breitling... But, I have to admit that I dont recognize this model?? Nice watch, obviously great work done.. But to me the numbers looks more like as a Patek than a Breitling... and did Breitling even use display back then?? But.. I hope that this is a sign of things to come.. Vintage Breitlings rule!! Almost as cool as vintage Omega chronos!

Vintage Omegas are cool, but plain models as this are quite numerous on the market.. Those which have chronometer on the dial are the more valuable ones. An ebay search for "completed items" is as always a quick way to determine approximate market value. One of my favourites among vintage Omegas are the Chronostop. It is still quite cheap.. And, of course the weird and lovely Speedsonic, which are in my avatar!

Yep.. I know this site.. It makes my mouth watering every time I visit it.. I regret dont buying that 5512 I came across three years ago.. http://www.doubleredseadweller.com is another excellent page on Vintage Rollies.

Nice Yacht-Master. It is one of the watches which looks better in real life than on picture. It is kind of "flashy", but most girls thinks it is a better looker than the Subs. Regarding the movement.. I actually would prefer the regular ETA. I have two bad experiences with the decorated movement... but noe with the regular ETA.

Problem With The Bezel On An Smp Gmt
chrgod replied to Everythingape's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Good luck with your Seamaster GMT, a nice piece. Sorry to read about your trouble with bezel alignment. Hope you fix it, I have not yet aligned the bezel on mine SMP. It does not bother me. -
I think the Air-King version with stick markers for some reason usually is better than the one with Explorer-style dial. Here is a comparison with my Silix Air-King vs the one in the catalogue:
-
My Rolex Air-King from Silix.. It is such a basic, no frils genuine-looking watch that hardly anyone would guess it is not real.. especially with some accessories: The dial is spot on, and better than the more recent batch of Air-King replicas I bought..

Hey Guys What Could Be The Problem With The Hands.
chrgod replied to 2005SUBMARINER's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
A nice looking Rollie. Good taste! I also bought my Air-King (silver dial with stick markers) from Jay& Angel.. It is definently one of my favourites, a humble, stylish watch! -
Great watch, great chocolate and great shot! I wish some day, they can fix the subdial spacing and the chrono-hours counter on the rep...
-
Photoshop?? Nice work Nevertheless... Watches and chicks is a lovely combination!

Nice to see good replicas of another great brand. The 7750 based pilot chronographs from Fortis and Tutima should be possible to replicate quite easily.. But I doubt that there would be much demand.. One minor thing that buggers me about this one is that on the gen, the hands that are used for the chrono-function are orange and the other are white... Here, they have somewhat mixed it... The running seconds are orange and the hour-chrono hand is white. But, what the heck.. That can be fixed! :-)
-
It is not a he-valve... It is where I keep my garotte wire.. The valve is actually a thad higher than on the SMP. Here is an old wrist shot, just for fun.
-
I have the worlds best 007 rep.... My ordinary SMP on the right has been passed to the dark drawer by this beauty... Just check out those XXL-super-solid end links!

Help! The Rotor Fell Off My New Eta-explorer Ii..
chrgod replied to chrgod's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Everything turned out well! I removed the bearing assembly, and pressed the rotor back onto it. With the bearing assembly removed from the movement, I dared to use a bit more force to press the rotor back on. It was an easy fix as you said. A real man fixes such things himself, and do not wein and send Paypal complains! -
Help! The Rotor Fell Off My New Eta-explorer Ii..
chrgod replied to chrgod's topic in Watch Repair & Upgrade
Thanks Ubi, I dont have any spareparts, so I have to use the old one. I will give a try to unscrew the bearing (centre screw), remove it, put the rotor back on and reinstall. Hopefully without messing anything up.. I am glad I bought Nariikas watch tool set. The tweezers, loupe and screwdrivers come in handy... -
Two hours ago, I picked up two watches at the postoffice; A white-faced Navitimer for myself and a black Explorer II for a friend. I opened the caseback just to make sure it was ETA. everything looked good.. BUT, when I turned the watch upside down, the rotor fell straight out! I have never fiddeled much with movements, but as I understand the rotor should be rather straightforward to remove and attach. I tried to push it gently onto the stem/bearing, but it seems like the hole in the rotor is too small to fit over the bearing assembly.. Should I remove the tiny screw in the centre, put the rotor on and fasten it with the screw? I looked on rbj's guide to watch servicing... but it does not go into detail about this. Personally, I suspect that the movement has been badly put together after the modification performed to the ETA2836 to get the 24-hour function... What should I do? All help is greatly appreciated! ..
