I was discussing watches with a friend yesterday, Rolexes and the Daytona in particular.. I told him about Oyster case, superlative certified Chronometer, perpetual and that stuff.. But I was unable to answer whan he asked why Rolex call their stopwatch "Cosmograph" instead of the more usual "Chronograph".. "Cosmo" means space, so maybe Rolex hoped to be chosen by Nasa?? (As we all know, the Speedmaster got that honour) I have googled, and searched on TZ without luck.. but does any of you guys know the answer? Thanks in advance!

The "original style" movement looks really great, but has proved to be more troublesome than the plain ETA. I bought the "original style" sub from Silix, and it was faulty. ( A gear missed about 30% of its teeths..) Very nice looking though, I was impressed by the looks when I removed the caseback! At the end of the day, I would go for an ordinary ETA, which has not been too much fiddeled with!

I am late.... but I am in!

Good looking Omega collection... The black SMP is one of my all time favourites. With the sword hands and black dial. I still sometimes regret that I sold it. All the watches are hacked, to avoid blur from the seconds hand I see... clever guy!

A Daytona n Da Vinci code..? I have to watch out for that.. A somewhat quiet saturday night for me, just some wine and Thai food with my GF...The Panerai Lefty is on my wrist as I search out the replica world on the net...

Lovely watch... and lovely movie. Too bad that there are no readily available replica of this one.

Nice stuff!

I totally agree... The date mag is the one thing that most regular people recognize with a Sub, besides the sweeping seconds hand.... A weak date mag can ruin an otherwise nice replica. That is why I have still not bought the latest "TW best". Last year I got this from Silix: Biiig date, and biig Crown guards..... Actually a bit too big date. The movement was faulty, so I had to send it back. Now, I am awaiting Silix' attempt to manufacture "The best Sub".

... Uh, this is way off-topic, But just to correct, Norway got the consitution and was "handed over" from the Danes to the Swedes in 1814.. ( 17 May) Then, in 1905, we got the independence from Sweden. And, very nice Omega Seamaster GMT. Crisp dial and nice color-combination... At least there is not the pearl to worry about. But it is the first time I see a GMT-watch advertised with the 24-hour hand hidden. Not a great trick!

Nice watch... I hope that one day they will make a rep of the vintage Omega Seamaster f300hz electronic... The tuning fork movement!

Nice to see some Tissot! It is an overlooked brand, in my mind. I thought every Tissot fan was supposed o have at least one T-touch???

How about a nice simple Fendi with a box and all the goodies? I think I have seen that one on Silixprime and Trustys webpages... BTW: I bought a genunie vintage 1920ties Bulova for my GF. That was a sucessful gift.

OMEGA SPEEDMASTER MOON WATCH EXPERTS HELP
chrgod replied to 2005SUBMARINER's topic in The Omega Area
The "Pre Moon" Speedmaster Professionals did only have a very lightly engraved Seamonster on the back. The "Flight Qualified.." engraving came by the early seventies, I belive.. Vintage Speedies also has only a simple clasp on the bracelet. The intricate two-button release has only been around for a few years... 39mm should be correct for the very first Speedmaster.. Check out speedmaster-mission.net, if you like -
Nice... Previously, I was a fan of the Pepsi, but now I am rather more fan of the red/ black... It complements the dial, and is less "Seiko"

Interesting! Excellent for us who want to know more about the "heart" of our watches! Gotta love that "Silly Sun" movement..

I bet that one is on Grans wrist. He never takes it off. Very nice collection, Gunnar. Nice to see something other than "The usual suspects"!

I did some more checking, and found out that this model "Breitling Colt Automatic" usually run for about 800-900 USD with accessories. So, I guess that 500 for a watch without papers and unoriginal band is not suspiciously low... But, I asked the seller for a pic of the movement. Even though he has movement pics of his Omegas, he was unable to open the Breitling. A bit strange.. At the end of the day... No Colt Automatic for me this time..

A very nice Explorer... It seems like they finally have got the 24-hour hand almost right, not "fat" as in previous versions... I hope they soon will get the 24-hour hand right for the GMT-master also. The date window and font is also problematic for these. Once they fix something, they mess up something else..

Glad to se you here, Jay!

I am looking to expand my collection of genuines, and am searching through ebay. On my way I found this nice Breitling with a "Buy it now" for 400 USD. 13 hours left of the auction. The seller looks honest, and have a couple of other, not expensive genuine Omegas... I am not an expert on Bretlings, but I like the somewhat clean look and nice size of this one... What do the experts think? http://cgi.ebay.com/AUTOMATIC-BREITLING-30...1QQcmdZViewItem

Review of BREITLING Navitimer "Serie Speciale" OUTDATED MODEL!
chrgod replied to By-Tor's topic in By-Tor's Watch Reviews
Yep, I guess the rep makers has been confused about the mix of letters and numbers in "Messerschmitt Bf109". , and spelled it as "Messersch14778109" or something. In fact, it is a bit funny... Nice to know that it can just be scratched away. -
Review of BREITLING Navitimer "Serie Speciale" OUTDATED MODEL!
chrgod replied to By-Tor's topic in By-Tor's Watch Reviews
Excellent review, Bytor. As usual from your side! A very nice Navitimer. Interesting to read about the hisory of the "Serie Speciale". I have been wailing about the misspelling of Messerschmitt on this model. This should be omitted on such a nice high grade replica... Of course it is highly individual what faults what faults you accept.. I am into Warbirds, and do voluntary restauration work on WW2 aircrafts. I know that I would never pass over this watch to any of my fellow Aviation nuts.. Again, thanks for the review. The Navitimer has moved higher up on my wish list -
I found this one in Kuala Lumpur, four years ago. It has a quartz movement, with functional chrono, 24-hour indicator and a nice looking date window and font. The crown does not have the right shape, the Chrono seconds-hand is incorrect and of course the subdials are wrong. But the watch is well made, with a good band and deployment clasp. It was a regular beater and my only good replica, until I found this forum. It held up nice, except for the subdials hands which fell off. My watchmaker took care of that. Never seen this replica anywhere else, so this is a keeper!

1991 Mazda MX-5 (Miata in the US) I have had it for 1 1/2 years. A truly excellent little sports car.
