  1. Hi, and welcome! No problem with buying to Norway.. I have never had anything confiscated.. but three times I had to pay tax (25%) on my illegal goods! Shipping can be very slow from China, though.. As Alextor says; Bytors Omega guide is a must-read for Omega fans! Good luck, its a fun hobby!
  2. ... I have been looking for a nice Navitimer ever since I first joined the boards almost two years ago. I hesitated to buy one juste because of the low date window. Just four days ago, I finally gave in and bought Trustys white "Serie Speciale".. I normally don't like special version watches, but this one has a nice date, and black subdials which is correct for this watch. But.. It has the wrongspelling of "Messerschmitt" on the back, which is an obvious flaw for any aviator. Anyway.. I am also in on the group buy, at the price of 200-230 USD Black dial , stick markers and black leather strap for me...
  3. Nice "Amazoooom", fitmic! These are indeed classics. I am even starting to like the old Volvo 240/260 series from the late 1970ties... They were so common in Norway also, but now they are getting scare. But, so far, I stay with my 16 years old Miata! It is also a classic
  4. A good read.. There have been a lot of fuzz lately about these things. I hope the newbies read stories like this, and learn to be a little patient..
  5. Very interesting reading, thanks for the tip! I like the basic Explorer 1, along with the Air-King.. and have considered to buy one of them them as gens. Interesting to read that the crystal is not AR-coated! And to see the non-solid end links on the genuine band! The gen has the same gaps between case and band as a simple rep..
  6. Sorry to hear about your troubles. I have not dealt with you, but I remember your name. Sometimes participating in a forum turns out to be more stress than fun... I understand your desicion. Good luck in the future!
  7. Wow, I am quite impressed! These pictures are very good references for people who will attempt their own CG modding... Hm hmm... let me see... where did I put that old Silix Sub...
  8. Excellent review, as always! It is too easy to be nitpicking these days, when there are so many excellent replicas to choose from. But this one is indeed one of the very best. Definently a "must-have"
  9. I knew it!! At last I got my suspicions about this site confirmed...
  10. Indeed a good looking watch.. I did not like it at first, but it is growing on me. It ozzes quality and good finish. It seems way better finished than the new Navitimer World rep. What is the function of the "helium escape valve" on the case at 9 o'clock??
  11. The Moonwatch.. Just my personal preference!
  12. Nice for a first edition I think. Maybe this is the first replica to have both GMT-hand and chronograph. However, The first thing that struck me was that it has a cheap-looking applied Breitling-logo.. far from the genuine. Date window is better than in the recent Navitimer, but still off. For some reason the bracelet on the Navitimer World rep seems to be of a cheaper type than on the good Navitimer- reps? But overall a nice watch, and a replica I have been waiting for.. I just want the creme-colored version.
  13. Thanks for the message, Andrew! You have always had good communication with the customers.
  14. Very limited special version... I wish the receipt stated the Rolex model number.. Maybe it should be something like "1166700"
  15. It looks like "Paul" might be in trouble again..? I tried to check out his site today, and it was closed down.. Aspire I hope it is only temporary...
  16. It is a good looking watch, I wouldn't mind having an Asian 7750 powered replica of that one... Anyone seen a rep of the "reduced Moon watch"?
  17. In fact this is probably a real one. It is not the classic "Moonwatch", but the smaller automatic version. You can see "automatic" at 12 0'clock. Oddly enough, I don't think that there exists a good rep of this version of the Speedy, even though it should be possible to make a close rep.
  18. Really nice watch... It is one of those "affordable" legendary watches.. I think I will buy a vintage Speedy (probably early 1970ties) as my first genuine expensive watch. Actually, I like the Speedmaster X-33 "Mars" watch also... Although it is dismissed by most enthusiasts.
  19. Interesting thread, which deserves a little "bump"... There are always new members who does not fully understand how things works.. I remember my first rep purchase on TRC , two years ago.. It was just a shitty 70 USD Vintage Explorer II (Steve McQuinn), but I was so scared of beeing scammed...
  20. It is the same issue with the Explorer II, I guess. When you are used to the oversized crown on the Submariner, the Explorer II crown looks way too tiny..
  21. Wow... That sure looks good! It is the first time I have seen a leather strap that suites a tool watch such as the DRSD. Nice vintagization also, wear it well! :-)
  22. Acetimer.com is popular and have had good reviews.. I have not ordered from them yet, but have had good communication. I Will probably buy a box and a winder when I am going to the US i August..
  23. Where is the date..? Smooth looking, but very ordinary..
  24. Go for the Omega SMP. Best daily beater there is, in my opinion. I like it better than the new Planet Ocean, which is a bit too flashy for me. The SMP is classy and the real one is not to expensive..
