  1. What an idiot. I agree that it could also be a set up. Be careful.
  2. I can understand the dealer's perspective but ultimately, it is the consumer that has the power. I am at a point where I have enough watches that I don't need to run out and be the first to get the latest rep that comes out. In fact I bought my last 3 reps used. I can understand that being a dealer is hard with a potential for staggering monetary(and other) losses. I certainly appreciate that we have reliable dealers that don't rip us off like those places that advertize Grade 1 Swiss replicas. But, the dealers are in the business they are in because the rewards of that business at the end of the day(or month, or year) are greater than the risks.
  3. I get my rep movements overhauled by Zig and Andrew's rate is reasonable. As a bonus, you get a guarantee of waterproofness. At any rate, most people assume fake when they see a sub even a genuine.
  4. There are Breitling Navis with the 6-9-12 chrono arrangements (Speciale) that will take 7750 mvts.
  5. He probably did advise him. I think it was done deliberately.
  6. Not necessarily a flaw of the rep but I think aesthetically, the hands are too short for the size of the watch(in the genuine too).
  7. Love that Simplicity. That Capeland S is actually affordable.
  8. Only comments I've ever gotten on are a 192 and an Accutron chrono(gen).
  9. I can also vouch for Zig. I've sent him packages from the US without any problems. His work is great.
  10. Great post. The problem with the gens is that I'm wearing a 192 that has been serviced and lumed. It's a great watch in its own right. If I wanted the gen, it would be $20,000 if I could find it.
  11. Eh, I'd rather have a Ferrari. Although, the people who buy these watches probably have multiple ferraris.
  12. That's worth a lot of goods and services in a place like Taiwan.
  13. The ETA ones have a 2671 movement in them(usually) and they have a fairly good power reserve(around 36-40 hours). You might want to see exactly how long the power reserve in her watch is and if it is below that, send it to one of our repair people to look at.
  14. Thanks for the info. The old VC was my favorite rep because it has a 2892 movement and was relumed by Zig. Unfortunately, the bracelet closing mechanism broke and it is nearly impossible to find a strap for it. Thanks for the heads up.
  15. I adjust most of my watches to within 5 secs per day. I have a TTK PO with a 2824 movement that is +1 to +2 seconds per day. A Pan 111 and a 192 that are around +5 seconds per day. Also a Day-Date that is +3 seconds per day and a ExII that is around +2 seconds/day.
  16. My favorite is the PAM 192 serviced and relumed by Zig on a TC alligator strap. It gets the most comments of any watch I own(of course that isn't the reason it is my favorite).
  17. Great watch, I would be all over it if it had SuperLuminova fill.
  18. I like the Damasko brand as well. Check out the Sinn 903 which is made from the Breitling Navitimer tools bought by Sinn when Breitling became bankrupt.
  19. Great review. I genereally don't like Breitlings but that one really looks tempting.
  20. The finniky movement is the reason I won't buy one. I wouldn't mind getting a rep of the vintage though.
  21. I tried it las pm, anti-clockwise is the right way to speed it up. Thanks.
  22. Thanks for posting this. What I do is slightly bend inwards the sides of the flipping part so that it holds on tight after locking.
