I don't like the general impression the public has about the brand or the owners, but that is not going to keep me from appreciating the watches. I like watches and Rolex makes some of the finest watches in the world. Classic.
I agree with TeeJay that they could use a facelift here and there, for instance to the old-school design of the clasp folds. With that though, it is unfortunate they chose to change the case design, it hasn't grown on me.
Good topic Lan the man. I've run into a lot of this lately, my watches are getting attention.
It's second nature for me now to immediately disclose they are reps. If they are people I know, then I provide two links. One to here, another to a collector. I'll talk about watches a bit, telling them if they enjoy watches and want to learn more, to come join RWG.
Welcome
I have to figure out how to get my grandfathers stamp collection appraised and sold. Any ideas? Its a huge, lifetime collection. Don't even know where to begin.
A 21j version, was originally for a friend but he preferred something else so I wound up with this.
Some initial impressions after a day or two:
(obviously the beat, with the stock 21j) DG mvmt swap should sort that out.
Case is stamped 18k on the back.
Crown teeth are rounded, not sharp.
Caseback markings "ROLEX OYSTER, MILGAUSS" are painted on and will eventually wear off.
Rehaut engraving is black paint and the font and placement isn't correct. way off compared to a gen etching.
Crown on the dial is too high. almost touches the "60"
If you go in knowing these quirks and are ok with them, then this is still a nice watch and should be satisfactory.
OK.. quick and dirty for now:
You're the only woman here Watchgirl. I just said something recently about what an introduction thread would look like if it was a female that posted. Welcome!
+3 for wristies. Ive seen my fill of the hairy arms around here!
Steph that just sounds like a setting in outlook. Go into settings and look for something to check/uncheck such as "when closed minimize to system tray" or "completely close outlook when prompted" etc.
Im sorry im not in front of a system with that program to find it for you. Let me know

She doesnt understand about your hobby? You're going to have to make this decision without her. She gave you the stakes. You play your cards.
[censored] the economy/premium, is the extra ~$1,000 worth giving up something you love? Who are you trying to make happy? Doesn't sound like both of you can be in this situation?
