  1. There you have your problem. You should be able to screw down part 2569 as tight as you can. Therefor I'm left to believe the date wheel teeth are too thick. Are you sure it is a 28xx series date wheel? Try laying down the date wheel on a glas plate and inspect with loupe if the teeth are straight.
  2. Bummer. Did you make sure that the v-shaped spring of 2784 sits between the teeth? Did you use a 28xx series compatible date wheel? Is the date wheel straight? Does the corrector 2569 grip on? What do you feel when you turn the crown in date set. Just some random thoughts. Make a macro pic if you can. Maybe I can help you out!
  3. The crest was not replicated. They were called Swissanese movements. The base plate was in fact gen ETA. I owned one back then.
  4. See what you mean. If it bothers you you could change the dial for a gen. They aren't that expensive. Me personally wouldn't care as nobody will ever notice. But than again. That's me. Everyone has his own little things that bother him
  5. Oh man! This whole OEM thing is kinda making my head spin. So Breitling Cal. 13 movements are not OEM Breitling because ETA makes them? So we need to say authentic Breitling cal. 13 movement OEM ETA. Theoretically it may be correct but there sure is some ambiguity about that term OEM.
  6. Thanks. I too started out with an Unitas and worked my way up. The challenge is keeping apart the screws as they are ALL different....
  7. Sneak preview.... more to come! Currently: -The movement is undergoing a full cleaning and service -Refurbishing of the case and case back -Polisihg, repainting and luming hands (the small hands and chrono second are supposed to be orange (was wrongly painted by a hack watchmaker) -Refurbish dial and reluming (the dial is actually black )
  8. Nice safe! You should have removed the hour markers to give it a clean finish and your lume has bonded too much. Next time make it less blobby by adding thinner. Hope you will find a new dial an hands soon
  9. By unbalanced you mean lose? Most probably the tube came lose from the hand. A very common problem on replica chrono's. The hand needs to be removed and one can put a tiny bit of glue underneath the hand where the tube connects to the hand. If you have never done this before better let be done by a professional.
  10. Cool. You should offer this as a service. I know for sure a lot of members would like to blast some of their watches. ... Including me Thanks for sharing.
  11. Thanks guys. I'm going to pick it up tomorrow and shoot some pics when I have it in my hands
  12. Bang on the money! I asked him in a humble manner about some mods he did to the auto wind bridge of a Pam and he indeed dodged them all! I didn't want to rock the boat so I left it at that. He is here to make sales and only sales!
  13. Thanks for bringing this to our attention Andy! I like the open forum we have and the fact that mods don't ban members depending on how they feel like at the Geek. But this sort of bahaviour tells a lot about the moral integrity of a member. In my honoust opinion a ban is in place. This guy is bound to cause problems in the future. Especially because most of his activity is based on selling watches. And not even the slightest ones. We are talking about high valued moderated reps for a lot of $$$. My 0.02
  14. I understand where you are coming from. You wanted the piece of mind that your movement is in top notch condition. Really sorry to hear things didn't work out like they should. @ajeh: Just saw you're in Canada. Shoot The Zigmeister a PM. Maybe he can help you out locally. A great guy and a master watchmaker! They don't come better than him. Ps: movements that are professionally serviced are best to be adjusted to +6~8 sec in dial up position so you will get +2 in normal day to day wear (if you adjust everything properly e.g. regulator studs, coils etc.)
  15. Same here. Asians run as good as Swiss after proper service and adjustment. Same here. Asians run as good as Swiss after proper service and adjustment.
  16. Haha. Ok I will guys. Will post regular updates. Mark.
  17. Indeed. Should I use it as a donor watch you reckon or try to restore it?
  18. Excited over this new vintage project!!!
