I find the overal quality and finish of my rep excellent. Off course there are a variaty of rep MB pens makes out there so surely it depends on the source. Try Narikaa, he never disappointed me.

No harm done Yodap. I partially understand your standpoint. There is no arguing here just sharing some opinions . Sadly there are also people among us with other intentions for our high-end reps than just collecting them en appreciating them for what they are: Replicas! Don't fool yourself!

And why would you want papers? Do you carry them around to proof your watch is gen? Do you invite people to your home to look at the papers? In my opinion replicated papers stimulate and enourage scamming. Maybe not you but perhaps the person you might sell the watch to in the future.... People with gen watches (I'm one) keep their certificates and papers locked up in a safe. And if anyone would ever doubt the authenticity of my watch and wants to see the papers, my reaction would be to 'F off'! (sales excluded ).

This happened to me before and squeezing the tube is very very risky! I applied a teeny tiny amount of thread lock in the tube (done with a needle) and it worked like a charm

I don't get it... all this fuzz about a loose chrono second hand? This is like the easiest fix of them all. Just uncase the movement. Use a tooth pick to realign the hand and push down on the hand tube.

This ad almost pulled me over the edge. It's the steel bracelet that makes a huge difference IMO.

This is an Asian DG 2813 movement with 21 jewels indeed and 21,600 BPH. Nothing to do with ETA. It's a $15 movement which performs rather good. Some complain it has a short power reserve. The rotor is supposed to move in both directions but it will only wind in one, this is normal. If runs okay now, it will probably run okay in the future...

Nice macro's informative write up. At first I really liked this rep and even considered buying it but after seeing Phoband's pics and now yours, I changed my mind! IMO this strap is now already 2009th ugliest strap. It looks absolute horrible on the wrist with that weird metal thingy....

A lot of noobs are leechers and one-day-flies. They just take, take and take even more. The first post they usually make is to complain E.g. about a well respected dealer on this board, a rep which isn't truly 1:1 or a dust partical underneath the crystal.... I still think we have to limit the acces to the dealer and trade section for newbs. Best way is to require a minimum amount of posts. Sure this is no guarantee they will contribute valuable information, but they WILL engage in some conversations and learn things along the way!

Why would you want to clean the wheel? You can also buy and exchange different cloths for rotary tools. Buy a Dremel. The cotton polishing wheels for a Dremel are cheap as hell. I use 4 wheels: - A piece of 200 grid grinding paper wrapped around a rubber Dremel wheel for the deep scratches. - A cotton wheel for polishing with a rough finish (it has fine sand in but is less abressive that the 200 grid grinding paper). - A cotton wheel with jewelers rouge for the fine finish. - A coton wheel with a Cape Cod wrapped around it for the mirror finish. ... simple as that

The funny thing is that the balance spring is supposed to have a bend.... it's now probably [censored] up beyond repair. You need a new balane.

This is what you see with the dial, hands and date wheel removed. If you remove this gear you disable the complete Quick Date mechanism. Different parts of the mechanism which could cause drag?

Amen to that! That's why I don't buy ETAs anymore... it's probably Asian anyway so why not buy a Chinese movement from the start and safe some $$$
