Are the fine lines reproduced on the left side of each subdial? I can't see them in your pics (too dark).
Yes
As can be seen on King's pics posted earlier
-
here we see that the guilloche has been faithfully reproduced, however the dial colour has been sacrificed
I think it's the lighting... Based on the other pics the blue dial looks spot on, both in regards to guilloche and colour. By the way, I ordered a black one so it doesn't really matter anyway

Just a heads up guys,
Angus posted THIS on repgeek a few minutes ago,
basically it says that another maker will be bringing out the skyland soon which should be more faithful than the one that the twins are offering
this could have been mentioned before in this thread but with so many ego filled posts i must admit i skimmed though the pages
anyway, hope this give you prospective buyers food for thought
What could he possibly do better?..... oh right.... 'half a lume dot'
All the rave about the ultimate BCE.. jeez.... it has more glaring faults than the Skyland. White dial: complete wrong colour white, TTs: too light subs, slate grey: too dark, graphite: ... where to begin. Not even mentioning the bracelet. I owned almost all dial colours at some point so I know what I'm talking about. It also suffers from the same flaws as the Skyland (mentioned earlier by Andreww): Too long chrono pushers, wrong rider tabs and wrong pearl so.....
-
If we had these reps 2 years ago we would be the happiest collectors alive. Don't forget we are dealing with reps and with reps come flaws. I don't mind.....
-
and flaws which are (to me) made intentionally to create a V2 later.
They ALWAYS incorporate flaws, not just to make a V2 later. The V2 will also have flaws. Probably even worse flaws than the V1 (the '1 step forward, 2 steps back'-principle).

There are different Asian versions... at least 3 I know of. Only 1 swiss version.

Who's the guy that want's to write him an extended guarantee on his HBB? A Hublot official? If he sends his serial to him (as opposed in his post) he's screwed!
Hate to say it but that's what you get if noobs get acces to super reps... there should be a minimum post acces to dealer offerings. Set at 500 posts or so....

Just got this reply from Andrew:
Me: Is the Skyland ready for sale? Are the pics prototype shots or shots of the finished product? The reason I ask is becasue the lume dot at 3 o clock is rather bad (only half a dot).
Andrew: The Lume at 3:00 is supposed to be half a lume. Thanks
So I doubt wether the dot will be fixed...... Just an other flaw we have to live with.

Great news... when the bracelet is out my order is in
I'm glad it looks this good..... can't wait to order but I have to be strong.
-
Sweet.. thanks for the heads up! I will buy it no matter what the price is (Euro > $
). As long as it is a super rep.

butt ugly!

@doc, well at least we will know who to thank when the black steel turns out spot onto the gen. nice work
deltatahoe
Man, I just want the plain SS....... no fancy stuf.

I spoke with Josh about July 20th and he told me mid July, but I am thinking he was a bit confused and meant August.
Thanks for the update. Any news on the maker? I hope it's not the SA maker......

Pics over words

the problem i had with this model is that the outer part of the dial is supposed to be black.
(meaning, black outer dial and graphite inner dial with black subdials, NOT full graphite with black subdials.)
This is not correct. This applies only to the slate grey version. The graphite version has a graphite rehaut.

I bought my V2 maybe 6-8 months after it initially came out. My watch has none of the end link gaps and imperfections sited within this string. The exception may be date font but mine is not bad at all...maybe a little too thin but who is ever going to notice that?????
Same here.
My V2 with (slim) ETA font and gen for reference .
(sorry for the crappy pic, the lighting is [censored])
-
Euro 40,- including the buckle... no need to buy the rep.
-
I don't get it.....
Your old one is a V1 with AR (different bezel, beveled edge on pusher's buttons etc.) the new is one is a V2 (longer chrono pushers, different bezel etc.) .... but indeed with a really nice DW. But besides that, same ol Same ol

Aftermarket DW = Lello DW?
-
Thanks for the update. Great project. Looking forward to see the finished product
.

Again a MOTHERF%$#$#ING rubber strap....

Looks like the Evo has a really bad date alignment. Other than that it's breath taking!!!!
New Skyland is finally up
in The Breitling Area

I find it also strange that Angus is saying 'from the maker of.... bla bla'. Like he owns one factory and J&A own the other one. Fact is that J&A also sell UBCEs, UHBB etc. so they have access to the same maker(s). No advantage or USP for Angus IMO. As soon as a supposedly 2nd version is out J&A will also offer it, no doubt.
Maye we can order 'a whole lume dot' from the V2 as a upgrade LOL
